Life's Passing

Andy's POV

I kissed Juliet good night, so happy to have her in my arms. I let my eyes close and drift away into the blackness. I instantly tried to think of Jake. I tried to imagine him here in the darkness with me so that it could be so. The air was cold and soon enough I could see someone standing beside me. I looked over to see Jake looking at me a little confused but no the less he was there. "Did it work?" He asked me. I gave him a simple yes and then waited to see what might happen next.

Soon the blackness faded into the woods again. where I had been when I saw the terrifying imagine of Juliet and the demons that ruled with her. I began walking again with Jake following me this time. We walked further and further into the depth of the woods even passing the little boy again. "Don't look at him." I instructed Jake, but of course Jake looked and jumped back in fear. The little boy sat there on a log, having razor sharp teeth he ate his own heart again acting like it was nothing. I grabbed Jake's arm and pulled him away from the sight. We walked some more until we eventually can to a clearing in the trees. A hooded figure stood there once more and I looked behind me to make sure that no one had been following us.

The hooded figure turned around slowly and it was only then that I noticed they were hovering above the ground slightly. One of his hands raised up and pointed at me. Then with a deafening shriek he yelled in a demonic tone. As his mouth opened a swarm of locust came flying out from his mouth. I tried not to look at the sight as I swatted the bugs away. "What the hell do you want?" I yelled out to it hoping for it to stop. The figure lowered his hand and he came flying with great speed towards Jake. "Revenge. ", was all that was spoken before finally the haunting image seemed to fly through Jake knocking him to the ground instantly.

I swiftly made my way to Jake's side. He hand landed on his stomach and as I tried to flip him over I noticed his eyes had gone white. "Jake!" I yelled hoping he could hear me. Once more it seemed like the forest had come alive. I could hear wind moving through the trees and little animals scurrying about. I could hear what was left of the locust taking there final resting places, and Jake. His heart beat was slow but he was still alive. I tried my best to wake up. I held my hands on his shoulders and imagined us back in our rooms. I clung to Jake trying to feel comforted by his presence yet no calm was coming.

Finally I opened my eyes and saw that I had gone back to hugging Juliet. i looked over myself to make sure that I was alright. I heard something moving in the corner and with the light of my cell phone looked to see one lonely locust trying to fly with a broken wing. I stomped on it with my foot as hard as I could and moved to Jake's room instantly.

I opened the door to see Jake checking himself out in the mirror. "Are you okay?" I asked him barging into the room." Do I look different to you?" He asked turning around towards me. He did look different but I couldn't tell what. He moved to sit down on his bed and calm down. "You're definitely right. That was scary as hell." He said thinking back on the short dream. " What kind of revenge do you think he wants?" he asked. I knew that he wanted revenge on the people who had hurt him all those years ago but they weren't still alive. Was he going after there great, great, ancister? I shook my head unknowingly. "I'll let you get some normal sleep though." I said as I stood up to go back to my room. Jake nodded and climbed back into his bed and soon feel asleep. ­

The night was for the most part normal after that. I sat up with Juliet telling her about how things felt different as a vampire. I told her about standing in the sun and swimming. She laughed at me which made me feel a little bit better. "How can you stand to be around me? I nearly killed you?" I asked her not quite understanding how she could be as happy as she was now. "Well, doesn't this mean I get to be with you forever now." She spoke. I had to be honest. The idea brought a smile to my face. "Yeah. It does."
