Life's Passing

I held on to Juliet as she lay still in my arms. I couldn't hear her heart beating. The guys came to sit beside me as I took in the worst thing that could have happened to me. I held her in my arms and cried aloud. Ashley put his arm around my shoulder and watched unable to do anything. I held her close burring my face into her. I felt a hand on my arm and assumed it was Jake's with him being closes to me. I looked over to see Juliet's hand on my arm. Her eyes were slowly opening to a dark brown color very simulare to how mine were now.

"Juliet?" I asked quietly hoping that she might answer me back. She looked up at me and smiled. "Juliet are you alright?" I asked worried out of my mind. She found the strength to nod back at me and smiled once more. I pulled her in immediately and hugged her close to me. I felt her feeble arms wrap around me back and tears began to run again.

Jake's POV

I was tired. I washed Juliet's blood off of my hands and got ready to try to lay down and go to sleep. Andy had taken Juliet out to find blood and the rest of us were trying to recuperate after finding Andy. When I heard her scream I knew something was up. There shouldn't have been any threat her to affect her. Then to see Andy hunched over her with white eyes. He was seeing something that was not her in front of us. He didn't now that he was killing her. He was simply acting on impulse. I heard CC wince as he walked down the hallway to his bedroom. "Are you okay?" I asked thinking to when Andy had kicked him in the gut with no hesitation. He nodded a little bit and then continued walking.

I knew that this was hard on CC. He didn't really believe in any of this stuff. I mean he had his fare share of superstitions but nothing to the point of vampire or demons. I made sure that CC got to his room okay and then finally walked into mine shutting the door and trying to get away from the stress of it all. Every image was flashing through my mind. It all happened so fast but yet of course felt as slow as possible. I didn't want to throw myself into a panic attack but I still couldn't get the image of Juliet's blood off of my hands and out of my mind.

I opened up my laptop and placed it in the bed in front of me. I decided to look up which trails in the area. There wasn't too much to find other than Salem, but as far as St. Albans goes nothing. Although, St. Alban him self was known to try to bring religion into this part of the valley when it was first being built. Maybe he felt the need to bring it here. To fight off something others might have been to afraid to talk about. I continued looking up information on the town. Apparently it was very popular amongst the rail road community even having stops from Edgar Allen Poe who wrote The Raven a couple of blocks down from where we were living now.

I heard the door open downstairs and heard two pairs of foot steps coming up the stairs. Andy and Juliet walked back into the bed room for a few minutes then I heard someone walking to my door. I opened it up in time to see Andy standing there. "Hey." I said looking at his solemn face. "Can I talk to you?" he asked. "Andy you know you can talk to me come on in" I said walking back over to the bed and closing the lap top. Andy walked in and sat on the edge of the bed. "I don't even know where to begin." He spoke. I couldn't imagine what he was going through. "I didn't know what I was doing." he said. He went on to explain the dream with demonic hands clasping to him and a dead Juliet ready to kill him.

"I'm so sorry." He finally spoke. "I feel really bad for CC as well. Almost anytime something happens to me he gets directly hurt now because of it." I listened to every word that he said as the flowed from him. I could tell that he had been harboring this for a long time. I remembered him looking at Juliet when we were in North Carolina as if he didn't want her to come with us. I couldn't figure it out at the time, but know I think I knew. " Andy, has Matthew threatened any of us?" I asked a little worried. Andy took a deep sigh. "That's what I have been having trouble trying to figure out. He said no one would get hurt unless I would want them to be. Yet, I wake up to ... that." He said. So this guy was speaking in riddles. I sat there quietly for a few moments trying to figure out what that could mean. "Maybe, he ment the vampire you, not the human you. Human Andy would never hurt Juliet. But maybe vampire Andy wasn't thinking." I felt odd explaining it to him in third person but that was the only conclusion that I could to. Andy nodded thinking over it. "That actually makes a lot of since. I do know that it isn't going to get better from here. I need to know fully what he is planing to do. I need to try to stop it or see if I can work with him somehow." Andy said. " I wonder if there is any way for him to talk to me as well." I though aloud. Andy looked at me horrified. "No Jake. you don't understand these night terrors. They feel real and I have never felt so afraid of anything in my life. You can't." He spoke swiftly. "We have been through worse." I said. He sighed and though about it again for a couple of seconds. "I'm going to walk into my room now and try to go to sleep. I'll try to see if I can't bring you into the dream as well somehow." He stood up and looked at me one last time before walking out of my bedroom. As soon as the door shut I placed the laptop off the bed and turned off the lights waiting for sleep to come.
