Ch. 2: Why Should You Care?

Chapter 2: Why Should You Care?
I blinked slowly at Ashley, who seemed to have all of his focus on the guy in front of me, who blinked and stared at him like he was an alien.
The guy huffed. "Whatever," he mumbled and then he just sort of wandered off like it made him the better man to walk away... jackass.
"Puta que pariu!" I hissed, suddenly aware of a pain in my fingers from when I clocked the guy. I gripped my hand to see fresh bruises blossoming along my knuckles.
Ashley looked at me oddly as I continued to curse the guy in Portuguese... to be honest i got kinda wordy before i remembered that THE Ashley Purdy was standing next to me listening to me angrily speak a language he clearly didn't understand. His dark eyebrows were raised pretty high above his sunglasses, and even though I couldn't see his eyes, I wouldn't be surprised to see that they were as wide as saucers.
I stopped cursing and found myself standing there, looking at him, beet red.I quickly looked down to avoid his gaze.
"Um..." i scratched the back of my neck with my good hand. "Thank, i guess."
"You're welcome," He said carefully.
I looked back up to see that he had removed his sunglasses and was gazing at me with a raised brow.
My face felt even hotter under his very sharp gaze and i looked at my hand, wincing as pain flared up my arm.
"Are you okay?" The same hands from before reached out to gently take my wounded fingers within them to examine the damage. "Those are some nasty bruises you got."
I shrugged. "I'd be more worried if I was that fatass." I jerked the thumb of my other hand in the direction of where the dumbass from before walked off too. "I think I may have broken his nose."
Ashley laughed loudly and I looked up to see him smiling brightly at me, laughter in his dark brown eyes. "With bruises like these, I wouldn't be shocked, either."
I smiled gently and watched Ashley examine the bruises as gently as possible, as opposed to the harsh way he'd gripped the arm of the Hell's Angel who tried to hit me.
I pulled my hand from his grip. "Well, thanks," I started to walk towards the coffee shiop entrance, tucking my helmet under my arm and moving as quickly as i could to get away from the zombie bystanders watching me.
"Wait!" I turned to see Ashley fastwalking over to me until he was next to me, looking down at me -- hey, i'm five foot six, LEAVE ME ALONE -- and blushing lightly.
"Um... I don't want to seem forward for doing this but you look like you need it, so... can I buy you a coffee?"
I blinked up at him in surprise. Ashley motherfucking PURDY wanted to buy ME a coffee? Well, who am i to turn down free caffeine?
I grinned. "Sure, why not?"
Ashley looked surprised that I'd said yes (what normal person wouldn't say yes) but looked happy enough to actually open the door for me -- I'm female, but I ain't no girl -- to usher me into this little coffee shop that looked like a poorly done copy of Starbucks.
"What's your poison?" He asked me suddenly as we approached the cashier. I jumped lightly at the suddenness of the question.
"Um... double expresso with room for milk." He looked at me oddly (again) but shrugged and pulled me gently by my elbow to the cashier, a little blonde teenage girl who suddenly looked scared until Ashley smiled brightly at her to make her relax.
"We'll have a " -- " large" I interjected -- "large double expresso with room for milk and a drip coffee, also tall, with room for milk."
After getting our coffee and dumping sugar and half and half into it, we sat down at a little table next to a tall window looking at the parking lot, where my bike was.
"So," Ashley said after taking a sip of his coffee. "I buy you coffee and I don't even know your name."
I laughed lightly. "It's Indigo. Most call me Indy."
His eyes widened slightly and he pursued his lips, like he was mulling over my name in his mind. His eyes wandered to my hair briefly and then he grinned.
"Indy, huh? That's a cool name. Is your hair supposed to match, or..." He trailed off.
If he had been anyone else, (other than anyone else from Black Veil Brides) i would probably have suckerpunched him for thinking i named myself after my hair color or colored my hair to match my name -- even though it's VIOLET and not INDIGO.
I snorted. "Hell no. I'm always dying my hair different colors. This month, it's violet."I stressed the word violet slightly to make him understand the difference. "Indigo is my real name."
He grinned. "That's cool. I'm Ashley."
I smiled. "I know." I pulled off my leather jacket and turned my side to pull down the shoulder of my shirt to show him the black veil brides symbol i had tattooed on the back of my shoulder in black ink with the words "Fallen Angel" written in cursive underneath it.
He looked slightly surprised but seemed to shake it off. "Well, i guess i should be surprised since i approached you and not the other way around. You didn't even act like a fan, so..." He didn't seem to know what else to say at that point.
I laughed and took a drink from my coffee -- DAMN that felt good. NO MORE PANIC ATTACKS TODAY! -- "Well, I kind of had other things on my mind at that moment," I said with a grin.
Ashley blushed deeply. "Yeah.. why did you hit that guy, anyway? All I was saw you punching him in the face, yelling at him, and then when he went to hit you I decided to step in."
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, he was just one of those assholes who thought chicks only get bikes to fuck bikers and then basically said unless i should him my vagina he won't buy that I'm a biker."
Ashley snorted into his coffee and then grabbed a napkin to clean his chin. "Seriously?" He choked out.
I laughed. "Yeah. I wasn't gonna hit him until he said that I was already having a pretty shitty day and I didn't need some dickcheese making it worse." He laughed when I called him a dickcheese.
"What makes you say your day's been shitty?" He asked me suddenly, looking at me with curiousity evident in his eyes.
I felt the smile I'd been sporting leave my face, and I turned my attention to my expresso. Should i really bore Ashley with the sorrows of my life? He asked, but should I really?
I saw one of his hands (now no longer with a fingerless glove) reach across the table to rest on top of one of my hands. I looked up to see him peering at me curiously.
I sighed. "Well, about an hour ago, i got a text from a friend that was a picture of my boyfriend of five years cheating on me with one of my best friends from high school."
Ashlety hissed through his teeth."Wow, that's... awful. If that had happened to me, I'd probably kill them." He picked up his drink with the hand not on mine. "Well, fuck 'em. If your boy of FIVE FUCKING YEARS is dumb enough to cheat on you with your best friend, especially when you're as hot and funny and interesting as you are, then he never deserved you to begin with.
I smiled weakly. Then, I remembered my phone. I pulled it out of my pocket to see four missed calls from Mitch, two from Maya, and both had sent me text messages. I cringed and put my phone facedown on the tabletop.
Ashley looked at it briefly before looking back up at me. "Are they messaging you?"
I nodded. "Yup."
It vibrated again and i picked it up to see that Mitch was calling me.
I looked at Ashley. "Do you mind?' He shook his head.
I sighed before pressing answer on my phone and holding it to my ear, but I didn't say anything.
"Indy?" I didn't respond.
"Come on, Babe, I know you're there. Please, talk to me." I still didn't say anything.
"Indy, it wasn't what it looked like. I am not cheating on you. Please, just come over and we'll talk about it. I am beggin you, Baby" --
"Shut up," I said through my teeth.
"What?"
"Shut. The fuck.Up." I hissed. "I don't want to hear it, Mitch. I am DONE. Angel told me what you two have been doing. And guess what? You are free to fuck that loose pussy whenever you want. Because we are DONE. I never want to see you again, and i never want to see that BITCH ever again. If you come near me, i won't promise that you'll come out of it alive. Espero que o seu pau fica preso até o seu próprio rabo, assim você pode ir se foder, até o dia que você morra você picar!" I hung up and dropped my phone on the table. I grabbed my coffee adn took a long swig to calm myself down.
Ashley was looking at me with wide eyes, like I'd just told him I'm Jesus or something.
"Jesus Christ! Remind me never to piss you off EVER." He took a long drink from his coffee.
"What language was that?"
I grinned to myself. Every time i mentioned my heritage to anyone (guys) they always reacted in interesting ways.
"It's Portugues. I'm Brazilian."
The look on that boy's face was enough to make me laugh for a solid five minutes.
"You're... what?"
"Why do you think i have an accent or my ass is so big?"
He tried to press his lips together to keep from laughing before he ended up laughing to hard he was gripping the table to keep from falling over.
Hey, maybe being single won't be so bad

Notes

puta que pariu! means: "fucking hell" in portuguese
Espero que o seu pau fica preso até o seu próprio rabo , assim você pode ir se foder , até o dia que você morra você picar! means "I hope your dick gets stuck up your own ass so you can go fuck yourself until the day you fucking die you prick!" in Portuguese

I write it out on Microsoft word and then copy and paste. Usually if I type it out directly it lags and refuses to let me edit it. When I write it out and copy and past, it shows paragraph breaks. Maybe it reads differently on other computers or something, but I have always been able to distinguish the paragraphs with my computer.

I don't know how it would work on a phone, but I figured out on my computer that I have to click the Enter key twice at the end of a paragraph to get it to space, because just indenting doesn't work on here.

@BlackIris
Im reading on my phone and there are no spaces between each of the paragraphs. It might justf be my phone

@BlackVeilFireGirl99
Thanks. I don't know what medium you're using to read my story, but on my computer it shows separate paragraphs. I don't indent as it takes forever to do and doesn't always read. This site doesn't always like to allow me to edit and upload the way I would in any other scenario.

This is a good story but you need to put spaces between the paragraphs otherwise its really hard to read as its just a giant block of text other then that I love the story. Its certainly and interesting read.
