A New Beginning
Chapter 6
The over weight gym teacher blows the whistle to get everyone's attention. She points to me and some jock to be the team leaders of the dodge ball game. I walked to the front of the class and start picking my team members. Kara's first, I give her a fist bump. Then I get Ashley. Once mine and the jock's teams are full the game begins. I immediately get four people out. I see Kara gracefully dodging balls out of the corner of my eye. God, those long legs... I really want to get more attracted to her personality, but I can't help from being turned on by her.
Eventually it's down to Ashley, Kara, me, and three players on the jock's team. Ashley manages to wipe out one of the players, but then the jock gets him out. As I'm about to get one of the players out I see the jock hurl a ball at Kara. I run over towards it just as its about to hit her in the face, and hit it out of the way. She stands there motionlessly and stares at me. I hear low whispers from the students. She gives me a warm smile. I feel as though times slowed down. Her pretty green eyes batt and glow with happiness. I just saved my green eyed princess. Why am I thinking she's mine? Oh hell, she could have a boyfriend for all I know. Or, maybe she's a bitch on the inside, but I doubt those two thoughts very, very much. "Thank you..." She whispers to me. I feel as though my heart has just melted out of my chest.
I pick up the ball and turn to the jock. He's going to pay for that. I throw the ball so hard at him it bounces off of him and it hits the ceiling. Everyone cheers as Kara gets the last of his team out. The bell rings and we all head to the locker rooms. Before Kara goes I give her a pat on the back. "I gotcha." I wink and smirk at her. She giggles and gives me a high five. God, that giggle! "Thank you for saving my face from another bru- I mean a nasty bruise." She all of a sudden has a shocked look to her face. As if she slipped up and almost told me something she didn't want to. "Is he another one of those bastards, like Brad?" She looks at the ground and nods her head. "Don't worry dear, I think he'll be suffering from a bad bruise after what I did." She smiles and nods. I can see the pink spreading on her face. "Well, I'm heading to Art with Mrs.Amy. Where are you going?" I smile to myself. "Art with Mrs.Amy." She laughs. "May I escort you to your class Miss Kara." I say in goofy accent and bow. She laughs even more. "First we need to change silly."
