A New Beginning
Chapter 7
As I get in Andy's car I can feel my stomach do a flip. I'm so nervous, I can feel my legs slightly shake. Andy closes the door and gets in on his side. Ashley let me sit the the passenger seat. I put my seat belt on and take a deep breath. I start to pick my nails once he starts the car up. "So, do you wanna hang out with us this afternoon? We'll just be watching TV or playing video games." Oh wow, oh my. Going over to their house? Oh, I don't know. What if I fart in front of them or something?
"Um, I just have to call my mom." I pull out my phone and turn it on. I dial her number and wait for her to answer. "Hello? Mom?" There's a pause then I hear her. "Hey honey! What's up?" I try to think of the right way to word this. "Is it okay if I hang out with some friends for a few hours? I'll be at their house, they live a few blocks from our house." There was a pause as mom thought. "Um, sure, I don't see why not! Be back by nine, and call me when your coming, okay?" I smile and give them the thumbs up. "Okay, thanks mom, bye." I click off my phone and put it back in my purse. "I can come over, but I have to be home by nine." I look at the clock on the radio. It's three, so six straight hours of Andy and Ashley...but wait, they said the rest of the band was with them! Adrenaline flows through my veins at the thought. "Yay! Are you good at MW3?" They say almost in sync. I laugh and turn to them. "I've never played it, but I've played COD before." Andy smiles and looks at me. I can see the playfulness in his beautiful blue eyes. "I'll have to teach you, young Jedi."
When we arrive at their house I start to get butterflies again. Andy opens the door to the house for me and I take a look around. It's really big, it could fit more then five people. "I don't think Jinxx, Jake, or CC are here. Didn't they say they were going out tonight?" Andy nods and sets his keys on the kitchen counter. "Man, I wonder why they didn't invite us. Kara would of had a blast with us." Andy says to Ashley. Andy opens the fridge. "Want anything to drink?" I think to myself, I guess. "Sure, a Coke is fine." He hands me a Coke and our fingers brush. I feel a blush trying to creep a crossed my face. I look to the side so hopefully he doesn't notice. His eyes are on me for a moment then they shift to the counter. Ashley is no longer in the kitchen so it's just me and him. I feel a bit nervous and excited, I can feel the adrenaline still flowing in my veins. "This has been one of the best days I've had in a long time, what about yourself?" He says gazing into my eyes. I lean against the kitchen table. "Yeah, this I think has been one of the best days of my life." I say slowly. Me and Andy gaze at each other until Ashley walks in the room and breaks it. "I found the XBOX, who's ready?" I smirk at Ashley and shift my eyes to Andy, who is already smiling at me.
