A New Beginning
Chapter 5
Did I just hear what I think I did? Andy's and Ashley's words bounce around my head. Oh wow, I feel a bit dizzy. I'm smiling from ear to ear. I think this day can't get any better. This is just amazing. Now I know what it's like to be happy.
I head to the girls locker rooms for gym. I don't like gym, one of Brad's friends takes the same class with me. At least it's an easy A. I put on my favorite black tank top and black short shorts. The nice thing about gym is that you don't have to wear uniforms. So of course I wear tight clothes that show off my body. I don't understand why so many girls wear baggy clothes just because they're not a buck o' five. Everyone is beautiful in their own special way. I hate what society has done to these poor girls who starve themselves just because they think they're fat. I remember all out through elementary I used to get picked on because I was heavy. I didn't have a very good childhood, but I wish not to think about it. I'm to high on happiness right now.
I forgot a pony tail holder so I just leave my hair down. I enter the gym and stand next to my friend June. "Hey girl, what's up?" I shrug and shake my head. I still have that goofy smile on my face. "I'm just happy for once, truly." She touches my arm. "Aw, Karaboo, I'm so happy for you. I noticed you seemed a bit glum lately. I'm so glad to see you feeling better." If anyone in this school is my best friend, it would be June. June is a bit ADHD, but that makes her a lot more funnier. But, a little to hyper for me here and there. I'm like the old dog and she's the puppy.
I see two people enter the gym out of the corner of my eye. Of course, it's Andy and Ashley. I wouldn't have paid attention if it was some idiot boys in my class. Oh dear Lord Jesus, their mouths were practically on the floor. Probably staring at one of the millions of blondes that go here. I take I better look...it looks like they're staring at me. Nah, probably June. I decide to walk up to the fools.
As I approach Andy and Ashley straighten up and clear their throats. "Hey guys, what's wrong?" They shake their heads. "Nothing I just gave Ashley a flat tire and he almost fell." Ashley smiles and slaps Andy in the arm. I laugh, oh my God they're too funny. "Mhhmmm, okay, I'll believe that when pigs fly. Looks like you two were checking out a chick, who is it?" Ashley has a sly smile on his face. "Yo-" Andy practically tackles him. "No one! No one at all! Keep calm and carry on!" I roll my eyes. "Okay, I'll talk to you in a bit." I slowly walk back to June to see if I can hear them whispering.
"You ass! You can't just tell someone you like them the first fucking day you meet them! You know how creepy that would be for her!" I can hear Andy whispering, but ranting pretty loud, to Ashley. "Andy, chill your balls! You know I'm a flirt!" Andy sighs and I can hear him stomp his foot. "You always get the girls, give me a chance, because I feel something with Kara that I've never felt with anyone else. I feel like it's a sign or some bullshit like that." Ashley huffs. "Fine Andy, but if you don't win her heart by summer then let me try to win her heart, okay?" Andy huffs and puffs. "Ugh, fine!"
