Remembering Yesterday

They had gone to a party and were playing spin the bottle. James didn’t want to play because he had zero experience when it came to girls. He had never been kissed before. It was his turn to spin, Zoey was talking to Alex and hadn’t paid attention to where the bottle had stopped spinning. She only looked at James when everyone had started whistling and chanting idiotic things. The bottle had landed directly in front of her. She had to admit that she had liked James back then and she was nervous to know she would have to kiss him. “Yeah James, get some.” “Two best friends getting it on!” “Zoey is so lucky!” “Getting the hottest girl in school. “I wish James could have kissed me!” “Lucky bastard.” That’s when they had walked into the dark closet and got locked in.


“Um, ha, well this is awkward.” Zoey nodded as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. “Yeah…” “You know I’ve never kissed a girl before…” “I’ve never kissed a boy before…” “Really!? I thought you kissed Lloyd last year?” “No, that’s just something he made up. I decided to let him believe he was a bad ass.” “Wow. That sure is something. Well…umm…I’m not really sure what to do now.” “Well I’ve seen people do it on TV. It can’t be that hard.” She saw James ‘eyes fill with fear through the dim light showing from the doorway. “Jamie, are you okay?” “Umm, yeah, j-ju-just a bit nervous.” That when she decided to make the first move. She moved closer to him and cupped his face in her hands. Next thing she knew they were having starting to make out. “Okay you two! Time’s up!” Zoey had pushed James away when she heard footsteps getting closer. But James grabbed her and pulled her close to him.


James laughed as he fell of the chair. “Oh God! You still remember what happened next!?” Zoey nodded as she sat up. “How could I not! That’s not something you can forget very easily. She watched as he turned tomato red. “I was hoping you would forget.” “You got a boner out of nowhere! How am I supposed to forget your face that day when you told me?” “Yeah. I’m glad you didn’t freak out and tell everyone.” “I was going to, but when I saw your helpless face, it gave me time to think things over.” He let out a soft chuckle. “Yeah you had to stand in front of me or on my lap for half an hour until we were able to make a run for it. I still think we should have left as soon as I told you.” She shook her head, “No that would have been obvious. Everyone would have known what was up.” James opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by Club rocker playing on Zoey’s phone.


“It’s a message from Casey. She says to turn the radio on and quick.” James turned the stereo on and listened. “You heard right Black Veil Brides Army. Your five favorite guys are holding a concert here in Chicago and we are going to be giving away six double passes. More information about how you can win when we get back.” Zoey felt like her heart had stopped beating. This could not be happening. It had to be a dream. Black Veil Brides was coming to Chicago! And now she could go without having to beg her parents for money to buy the tickets. This was her big chance to meet Andy, Jinxx, CC, Ashley, and Jake! She couldn’t take it any longer; she had to let her feelings out, so she screamed. “Black Veil Brides is coming to Chicago!” She ran to her window and opened it popping her head out. “You hear that world Black Veil Brides is coming to Chicago and I’m going to get to meet the hottest boys alive!!!!!!!!!” James pulled her inside and grabbed her by the shoulders. “Are you crazy!? Don’t answer that, I can see that you are. Calm down! We haven’t even won the tickets yet.” Realization hit her and she let herself fall on the floor. “Oh, you’re right. But we gotta win, James, we just have to!” James nodded, “Okay, just calm down. Let’s hear what we have to do to win.”

Two long eternal minutes had passed and Zoey finally heard the announcer’s voice. She jumped up and down on her bed impatiently. “Endless Tweets and Facebook comments have beensent in the past five minutes since we announced the news of the Black Veil Brides concert giveaway. There seems to be thousands of fans excited and literally dying to know how to enter the contest. I think we shouldn’t make you guys wait any longer. The giveaway is very easy to enter, all you have to do is be one of the first to call when you hear: BVB Army, and if you’re one of the lucky six, you will have to answer a simple question about the band. We’ll be giving the tickets away every ten minutes so be prepared. Now we leave you with, well why not, one of Black Veil Brides greatest hits: Fallen Angels, only here on….” Zoey screamed as she jumped from her bed and tackled James. “We have one hour to win the tickets. James Anderson are you ready to accept the greatest challenge of your life?” He nodded and grinned, “Challenge accepted Mrs. Parker.”
