Remembering Yesterday

Ashley sat on a table and looked at Zoey. “So, are you and James just friends, or is there more going on?” “We’re like brother and sister.” James nodded, “We’ve known each other since we were little.” Andy looked at his bottled water lost in thought. “It’s kinda hot in here guys. Do you mind if we go outside?” Everyone agreed and stared heading out. Zoey tapped Andy’s shoulder. “You okay there?” Andy blinked a few times and nodded, “Um, yeah, just thinking.” Zoey nodded and swayed from side to say. “Well, everyone’s heading out side, do you want to join, or….” He nodded “Let’s go.” Zoey leaned against the door frame and smirked. Andy felt his heart beat racing, he wasn’t sure why, but he knew what was going on. He tightened his grip on his water bottle and looked at the door then at Zoey.


Zoey grinned, “I’ll race you. One, two, three….” She ran before saying go and Andy ran after her. “Cheater!” Zoey let out a soft giggle, “There’s no cheating here, just you who wasn’t paying attention.” Andy laughed and felt as if he were six years old all over again. He looked at Zoey and imagined her as someone else. He flew out the door beating Zoey who had ran into a box and he laughed. “Yes! I won!” Zoey walked out pouting, “No fair, there was an obstacle in my way!” Andy shrugged, “That’s what you get for cheating.” Ashley laughed and hugged Zoey. “No worries Princess, we all know you would have won.” Andy gasped pretended to be offended, “So you’re on her side?” CC laughed, “Sorry dude, let’s face it.” Jinxx nodded, “Yeah dude, she’s a cheerleader after all.” Zoey looked at John, their tour manager who chuckled as he leaned against a car. “John, you should lighten up a little! You’re over there all alone, come join the party.”


Jake grinned, “Are you intimidated by our friend Zoey?” Zoey looked at Jake confused. “He gets nervous when he’s around cheerleaders. He’s always had a thing for them.” Zoey raised an eyebrow amused; “Really now?” John stared at Jake. “No!” She ran to John and grabbed his hand, “Come on John, loosen up a little, let’s dance. James let me borrow your phone.” She practically dragged John to where she and the guys where, she then grabbed James phone and started looking for a good song. She chuckled as she found one and pressed play. Miley Cyrus ‘song Hoedown throw down started to play and everyone laughed, “What the fuck James?” Zoey looked at Jinxx, “He has an excuse, his niece likes this song.” Ashley made a face and chuckled. Zoey started at him and grabbed his hand. “Don’t think you’re going to escape from this song. You are all doing it.” She looked at each of the guys dead in the eyes. “Umm, I don’t really know how to thought.” She grinned at CC for being a good sport, “No worries I’ll teach you.” She spent about five minutes teaching the guys the steps and grinned. “Alright, do you guys think you can do it?” The guys nodded uneasily. “Good, James, cue the music please.” James laughed and shook his head as he pressed play. “Pop it, lock it, polka dot it. Country fivin', hip hop hip. Put your arms in the sky, move side to side. Jump to the left, stick it, glide. The guys laughed and tried to do the moves at the right time. Andy chuckled as he shook his head and moved to the side. Zoey frowned and grabbed his hand, “Don’t you dare give up!” Andy rolled his eyes, “This is ridiculous! I can’t believe you convinced the guys to do this, even John!” Zoey kept dancing and giggled, “It’s fun!” Andy shook his head as he grabbed a cig from his back pocket. Zoey stopped and looked at him frowning. “Andy.” Andy looked at her and that’s when he saw she was about to cry. He thought she was kidding but he saw tears were about to fall. “Andy, please.” He felt his heart skip a beat and he looked away. Those eyes… “Well alright.” He put the cig back in his back pocket and they kept dancing. “Zig zag, across the floor…” Zoey laughed as she watched Andy and she clapped her hands.
