Bullets in a Music Box

The deep rumble of the car driving down the road was all I could hear. Charlie and I were on our way to a meeting with the band because they had something to tell us, that Andy had to keep secret. Charlie had his notebook with him and he was jotting down lyrics and it brought a smile to my face. We've been in Europe for three days now and he has written two songs, two full length songs. They were amazing songs and I was excited for him to record them. The car came to a stop in front of a building and then the door next to me opened to reveal one of the bands body guards. I unbuckled and climbed out, Charlie following me, and we were escorted into the building and upstairs to the room. The band was all sitting around a table with Jon standing. I rolled my eyes as I took my seat next to Andy. He put his hand on my knee and smiled at me.

"Alright, what kind of crazy idea do you all have now?" I asked.

"Well Sadee, the band brought to my attention that your nephew here has been writing songs, good songs," Jon said.

"And?" I asked.

"And, we think he should perform them," Ashley said. I looked at Charlie and his eyes were wide.

"How? You guys have no room for him and he would be torn apart by your fans," I said.

"Which is why this afternoon, we set up an acoustic set, with his songs," Jon said.

"But all I have are lyrics, I don't have the music to it yet," Charlie said.

"And that is why you will be working with Ashley, Jake, and CC for the next few hours," Jon said.

"What?" Charlie asked.

"Not only was this set put together, but we have a few scattered here and there throughout this leg of the tour. And the one today is going to be recorded so we can send it to Tyler," Jon said.

"Aunt Sadee?" Charlie looked at me and I cleared my throat.

"Don't be scared. You are gonna have fun, and if it would make you feel better, I'll sit on stage with you," I said. He nodded.

"Alright, it is settled. Oh and Charlie, not only are we recording the performance for Tyler, but there is a sound crew there who are recording the songs to put onto a live acoustic album that will be exclusive on Black Veil Brides merch store online," Jon said.

"Like an EP?" He asked.

"Kind of, but a little different," Jon said. Charlie nodded and I looked at him.

"Well then. Why don't the four of you get to work on the music, and the other three of you can do whatever you want," Jon dismissed us and I looked at Andy.

"So who's idea was this really?" I asked.

"It wasn't me, I promise. Ashley actually had the idea," he said and I sighed.

"How many of these mini sets are there?" I asked.

"I think Jon said that over the next two months there are like ten, maybe fifteen," he said. I nodded and looked at Charlie, who looked like he was enjoying talking to the band.

"What are we gonna do now?" I asked.

"I don't know, what do you wanna do?" He asked.

"We could go walk around Dublin," I said.

"We could, there are plenty of sights to see," he said. I gave him a weird look and he kept staring at me.

"Something is up. What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing's wrong. There is something up though," he said.

"Which is?" I asked.

"I planned us a wonderful afternoon at Phoenix Park," he said. Phoenix Park? What? I have always wanted to see that.

"Since when are you so romantic?" I chuckled and he pouted.

"I am terribly romantic," he said. I chuckled and he stood before grabbing my hand.

"Come my fair Sadee," he said.

"Nice play on words. Stop being sappy," I said. He smirked and we left the room. There is no way I am going to go to Phoenix Park in this.

"Can I at least change?" I asked.

"Yeah, we're heading back to the hotel right now so you and I can both change, then we are going to Phoenix Park," he said. I smiled as we stood outside the building, waiting for the car to get us. Sometimes he is impossibly cute.


I was literally floating on cloud nine as we walked up to the area where Charlie is playing his set. Phoenix Park is absolutely beautiful and Andy was extremely romantic the entire time. There were these cute little shops set up and I saw a couple things I liked so Andy bought them, I argued and told him to not spend money on me, but he bought them anyway. I spotted Charlie standing with Ashley and CC, talking. My hand was intertwined with Andy's, but, I ran over to the group before letting go of Andy's hand and hugging Charlie tightly.

"Gah! What the hell?" Charlie exclaimed and I laughed.

"No swearing," I said.

"Seriously? He's touring with us," CC said.

"And? He's sixteen," I said. CC rolled his eyes before looking at the stage.

"Are you prepared to perform all your awesome songs?" I asked.

"Sure?" Charlie said. I had my arm draped over his shoulders and he leaned into me. Jon appeared from the stage and smiled at us.

"Alright Charlie, show time," he said and Charlie swallowed. I rubbed his back and we all entered the stage. I looked out at the crowd, and there were quite a few people there. There were stools aligned in a half circle on the stage, with two mics. Charlie sat down on one of the chairs and I sat down next to him.

"Don't be nervous kid," I told him and he nodded.

"Hello Dublin!" I said into the mic in front of me and the crowd made some noise.

"I hope you are all ready for an amazing set! Charlie here is boss at singing. And, just so you all know, if you like the show, he is going to have a mini EP recorded from this very show," I paused and the crowd screamed. I smiled at Charlie and he was looking at me.

"Shall we get started Charlie?" I asked him and he sighed.

"I think we should," he said and then he looked at Jake. Jake began playing the guitar and Ashley followed suit. CC joined in shortly after and I was impressed. The music was a mixture of The Lumineers and Black Veil Brides. It sounded pretty awesome. Then Charlie began singing.

"Something inside of me keeps calling out.

Where did you go?" He paused and tapped his foot a couple times before continuing, with me singing with him.

Where were you when I needed you?" We sang it and the crowd was loving it. I stole a glace at the side stage and Andy was leaning on a pole, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. I stuck my tongue out at him and he chuckled.

"The mess was almost too much to handle,
This life is almost too much to own.

A bright and energetic kid,
Looking for the next obsession.

Where were you when I needed you?" Charlie sang it with emotion and power before pausing and there was a guitar solo. Jake was rocking out and Charlie was bobbing his head. I smiled at him and he smiled back before continuing.

When I needed you the most?(X3)" He finished the song and the crowd cheered and clapped. They had all started on the ground, but at the end, they were all standing and really close to the stage. I smiled and looked over at Charlie. He was smiling like an idiot and looked like he was enjoying himself up here. Maybe this is good for him?

Alright, I lied, kinda. They aren't in Liverpool, they're in Dublin. I have this list of all the dates, which I am changing now that I decided to add more...... But I circled certain ones that the chapters are in, and I forgot that Liverpool wasn't one of them, but I like this one better. And you got to hear the rest of Where Were You. And I hope you liked it! I should put all of the songs from this story and Happy Little Pill into one and post it...... But yes. Hope you liked it!
