Bullets in a Music Box

Berlin

Loud thumping of the drums sounded through the walls of the mini dressing room that the band shared. I was sitting on the mini couch they had in the room with Charlie sitting next to me. Andy was getting dressed and the rest of the band was off at sound check. After the show last night and the meet and greet, we all were walking out of the building towards the bus, but surrounding the bus was a crowd of fans. We didn't get onto the bus until at least two in the morning, and we didn't all get to sleep until like three or four. I was curled up with my legs underneath me and my arms bent under my chin. My eyes were closed and I was waiting patiently for Andy to finish. From next to me, I heard Charlie humming something to himself and I looked over at him.

"What are you humming?" I asked. He stopped humming and looked at me.

"Just a possible tune for my new song I wrote," he said. I nodded and then the door to the bathroom opened and Andy appeared. As he turned the light off, a large yawn left my mouth. Before I could open my eyes, arms were wrapped around me and all I could smell was Andy.

"Andy," I whined.

"No yawning, it's only four in the afternoon," he said.

"But I got no sleep," I whined again.

"Neither did I, drink some coffee Sade," he said and let go of me but stood over me.

"Are we allowed to watch sound check?" Charlie asked.

"We can, but I usually just stay in the dressing room," I told him and he looked from me to Andy.

"I think I might watch, since, you know, I wanna be a performer like them someday," Charlie smiled and I shrugged.

"What ever floats your boat Charlie, but I will probably be sleeping when you guys get back here," I smiled and Andy gave me a look before bending over and giving me a really sloppy and wet kiss.

"You are disgusting," I giggled and he smiled like an idiot before him and Charlie left the room. I sprawled out on the couch and closed my eyes. A small nap sounds great. I put my arm over my eyes and slowly felt myself fall asleep.

My eyes were still closed when I heard the door to the room open and various voices sounded throughout the room.

"Is she sleeping?" I heard CC ask.

"No, I'm not," I said and heard him squeak.

"I don't get why you don't watch the sound check, it's so much fun," Charlie said.

"For a prospective singer, yes, but for a songwriter, no," I opened my eyes and sat up slightly.

"Even for a songwriter it would be fun," Charlie said.

"Whatever. Show me that song you were humming about earlier," I said and he pouted at me. I gave him a pout back. He sighed before sitting down next to me and pulling a paper out of his pocket. I grabbed it and unfolded it before reading it. It was called Where Were You? and it was pretty good.

"Andy, come here," I said and watched as Charlie's face contort into horror. Andy kneeled down next to me and I showed him the song. After he finished reading it, he looked up at Charlie and nodded.

"You have serious talent Charlie. If you keep writing songs like this, you'll have fans lining up and looking up to you," he told Charlie and the look on Charlie's face was a look of pure happiness. I know that Black Veil Brides are his favorite band, but I didn't know they were his idols.

"Well, the opening band is playing right now, we have like forty five minutes before we have to head out there," Andy said and I nodded.

"Have you talked to Lauren recently?" I looked at Charlie and he gave me a look.

"Okay, I understand you don't like her, but she was your mother figure," I said. He sighed before getting off the couch and pulling out his phone. I smiled and watched as Ashley took Charlie's spot.

"I heard that Tyler changed your contract and you are now an official songwriter of the label," Ashley said and I nodded.

"I think Tyler finally saw that I don't want to be a performer," I said and they all nodded.

"Are you gonna be awesome and help us write songs for our next album?" Ashley asked.

"If you ask nicely," I said and he pouted.

"Of course she'll help. Pretty sure that she can't stay away from us for that long," Andy said from behind me.

"I was away from you guys for two weeks, thank you very much," I said.

"But you missed all of us terribly," Andy said as he stretched his arms.

"Look at you, sounding all proper and shit," I laughed and he smiled stupidly. We sat around for the rest of the time, doing nothing but talk and joke around.

When the time came for them to go on, I was half laying on the floor, half laying on the couch. I looked up at Andy with a pouty face of which he responded with a laugh. I flipped him off and held my hand up. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up from the floor and we walked out of the room and down the hall to the stage. The opening act had finished and the crew was busy fixing the stage for the Black Veil Brides. I stole a glance out at the crowd and they were all loosely standing there, chatting away. I smiled as I turned around and wrapped both of my arms around Andy's waist. He smirked before giving me a kiss.

"So, are you gonna come out and sing with me?" He asked.

"Why should I?" I asked.

"Cause you love me," he said and I stared at his eyes.

"Two songs and that is it," I said and he nodded.

"Yes ma'am," he chuckled before I heard Jon telling the band to head out on the stage. I hadn't noticed that the lights had dimmed and the crowd was screaming a little louder. I kissed Andy quickly and he let go of me and walked onto the stage. I crossed my arms and walked over to Charlie. We stood next to each other, watching the band perform, silent.

"What did Lauren say?" I asked.

"She asked if I was having fun," he said.

"And you are. What's the problem?" I asked.

"I don't know. I can't forgive and forget," he said.

"I understand that, but right now, she is the closest thing you have to a mother, and she does care about you, she just has a weird way of showing it," I wrapped one of my arms loosely around his shoulder and he rested his head my shoulder. My head bobbed to the music as they played Sons of Night. I am in love with every single song on their album, but they won't play the whole album. After a while, I heard Andy saying something to the crowd and then from next to me a sound tech was handing me a mic. I grabbed it before walking out on the stage. The crowd screamed loudly and I waved at them. I stopped next to Andy and he put a sweaty arm around my shoulders.

"This next one is called Devil in the Mirror," Andy said and the music started. I bobbed my head and watched as Andy climbed onto the grate thing and walked around while singing. When I joined in, I swear the crowd got louder. I skipped and ran around, walking up my CC, standing next to Ashley, being weird between Jake and Jinxx, and finally standing back to back with Andy, singing the song. When it ended, I watched as almost all of the crowd were taking pictures. A big smile formed on my face and I turned around and looked at Andy.

"Guys, Sadee's being a bitch and is only gonna sing one more song with us," Andy smiled and I smacked his arm.

"I'm not a bitch," I said.

"I beg to differ," I heard Ashley comment and I shot him a glare.

"This one is called Faithless," Andy said and I glared at him as he began singing. He walked past me and interacted with the crowd. When I joined him, I climbed on the grate thing and interacted with the crowd. I got a better response than he did and I laughed while singing. When the song ended, I had a big smile on my face and Andy had his arm draped over my shoulder.

"Good night Berlin!" Andy yelled into the mic and we all ran off stage.

"Ew, Sadee's sweaty," I heard Charlie say.

"Give me a big hug Charlie," I said as I held my arms out. He squirmed before running off towards the dressing room. I chased after him and finally caught him on the couch.

"You smell so gross!" Charlie laughed and I kneeled on the floor. Andy appeared in the room shortly after. He immediately went to the shower and I shrugged. Nothing a little deodorant and body spray can't fix. I know I said I only want to be a songwriter, but that was so much fun. Maybe being a singer won't be that bad.

Notes

New chapter! Finally right?! So sorry for the two day wait. It is family weekend at my university and my family lives five hours away from me, so I have spent the last two days, roughly, with them. And yesterday was Halloween, so yeah. Sadee is now reconsidering becoming a singer. Charlie is excited to begin his career. And Andy is still a big dork. Hope you like it!!!
