~Stars Can't Shine Without Darkness~

I Hope There is a Heaven and I Hope That You are There

Star's P.O.V

I know there is a Heaven and I know my mother is there. I was born on December third, but every year no one wishes to celebrate my birth, because it is also the anniversary of my mother's final day on Earth. My mother had given up her life that day, in order to save mine.

Everyone had loved my mother, she was known by all. She spent most of her days with other people. She worked at our local children's hospital here in California; helping many families with premature babies, stay a family. Of course, she never would know the irony of saving her own flesh and blood, her only child.

If she wasn't working, she was volunteering at the local soup kitchen, making her California famous chicken noodle soup. Or you could even find her around the neighborhood; knocking on elderly resident doors and asking them where there rakes or lawn mowers were, depending on the season. Doing things that the elderly couldn't do for themselves being to old and frail, and for free.

She was a beautiful woman. With light brown hair and piercing pear-white eyes; her hourglass figure she had always had, even when she was pregnant with me. Her name was Galaxy, her mother loved the stars almost as much as my mother. Though my mother had the over powering and passionate love by far.

'When I die, name her after me, for that she may know I did not abandoned nor forgotten her,' - The words of my mother, Galaxy Benson.

And now that's what I am, a descendant of my mother. A star from the most beautiful Galaxy. My mother was queen of the sky, and I'm the princess of night on Earth.

Our town admired my mother so much, that they wanted to name our local theater after her, and put a star on the front with her name. But after I was born, they decided that I was the star to carry on her legacy on Earth. Saying it was better than her name on a star close to the Heavens, competing with her glory.

Every where I go, everyone knows who I am. My pictures are everywhere, and everyone knows my name. I can't even go out to eat without hearing hundreds of stories about how wonderful my mother was, and how much people she had helped.

It's nights like tonight when I sit alone in my room; watching the stars from my window sill. While the whole world and all it's people are moving around, and I'm sitting still. The stars light up my room as I sit by myself admiring them, and talking to the moon. Sometimes, i find myself hoping that my mother is on the other side, talking to me too.

I, am Star Bright Benson. Descendant of beloved Galaxy Star Benson.
