A War Worth Fighting For

"C'mon RAYNE, I haven't seen you in years. Come on out, let's talk."
The last of his words were through gritted teeth. Still masked I take off, using the air around me to carry my words so he couldn't pin point my location. "Well hello Balan, how are you?"
"unmask yourself Head warrior, so we can talk face to face."
"Demon, I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid."
"I remember differently."
"I was human then, and made stupid decisions, but if I remember correctly, even those stupid decisions worked in our favor."
"Bring me back the link, Rayne. And no harm will come to you and your warriors."
"I'd rather risk harm, than risk the end of the world, hellion prince."
"It would only be the end of the world for you and the humans."
"And what happens when there are no more human souls to feed on. the demons will die. You included. The only things left on this planet will be that of which you created. Eventually the earth will die. What's the point of this plan of yours."
He seemed to think it through. Could he really think that he would rule. Over nothing. He had to know it would mean his own destruction.
"Destruction is the only plan Rayne. Now show yourself and fight like the warrior you are."
A fierce battle cry comes from deep within my chest. I unmask myself in mid-dive, sword held high and ready to be swung. He turns quickly and reaches for me, but I dodge his grip, swinging my sword, making contact with his wrist. a blood curdling scream leaves the demon princes mouth as his hand drops to the forest floor. I land and ready myself to charge as Andy, CC, Jake and the other warriors land behind me.
"You bitch!!! how dare you, you will regret this!"
Smoke rises from a small fissure in the ground. I scream an order, "Don't let him leave alive!!"
We all rush him but he is gone before our swords make contact.
"God damnit!!"
"Relax Rayne, we'll get him. Let's get home, Jinxx is worried sick." I look to andy, and nod. That's when I feel Jinxx trying to mind link. I must have shut him out. I'm in deep shit.

Jinxxs POV

As I feel her getting close my pacing stops. Ash is watching me closely, and Michael is asking Wes everything he can to find out information on what Balans plan is.
"Jinxx, it'll do you no good to freak out on her."
"Ash, she shut me out, she never shuts me out."
"She might have had good reason."
"I don't care. What if something happened to her. I wouldn't know until it was to late."
"She's a great warrior Jinxx, she wouldn't do anything stupid."
I sigh and my shoulders slump. "You're right. What's wrong with me Ash. I can't get a grip on anything."
"You miss her being human, don't you?"
"More than anything."
"Don't freak out on her Jinxx. When you two fight, we all feel it."
i hear her land on the porch and I run out to her, "Don't ever shut me out again! You had me so worried."
"I'm sorry Jinxx, I didn't even know I did it."
"what happened?"
"I had to confront Balan. I cut his hand off but when everyone got there and we rushed to finish him off, he got away."
I put my arm around her as we walk inside. Michael stands "Rayne, I know Balans plan its.."
"I already know. Complete destruction."

Next chapter, more about Wes and what he went through.
I will no longer ask for comments. I don't want anyone to feel forced. Although I would appreciate knowing how I'm doing.
I will just write the story as I see fit, unless someone actually does give me feedback as to say something could be changed.
