I Swear I'll Never Let You Die

I watched as Jasey sang her heart out in the studio. Dani was watching her intently, listening to her mother sing. It gave me chills to see her singing the song since it was for Danielle. Or more for Jasey to try and get over her sisters death. I'd always wanted her on a track with me but knew she'd never sing. This was pure luck and I couldn't be happier.

"She's amazing, Andy." John said, shaking his head. My cousin Joe, had come in to film her for the documentary we were making and was inside the booth.

"I know." I said, smiling at her.

"Why doesn't she sing?" CC asked from behind me.

"Bad experiences in high school." I bit my lip ring.

"Ah we all have those." He laughed, "She's great though, could have a heck of a career."

"I don't think she wants that." I said.

"That's a shame. Any label would sign her in a second." John said.

Jasey finished the song for the fifth time, "Are we done?" She asked. John hit a button so he could speak to her.

"Yeah I think we've got all we need." He smiled. She nodded and put the headphones down before walking out to us. I stood up, Dani in my arms, and gave her a hug.

"You sounded beautiful." I smiled. She sighed and took Dani from me.

"Thanks." She said, kissing Dani's head. "What time are we leaving?"

"Uh I don't know. We need to mix a few other tracks and I want to be here. Need me to call you a cab?" I asked, holding onto her waist.

"No it's fine." She said. She walked over to the small couch and sat next to CC and now Joe.

"Andy, where did you put Danielle's bag?"

"It's on the other side of the couch." I said, walking to my chair next to John's. She didn't seem very happy so I was trying not to say anything snappy.

"Okay." She stood up and grabbed a bottle of apple juice from the bag. She handed it to Dani who gratefully took it.

I couldn't help but smile at how good of a mother Jasey was. She loves our daughter, just as much as I do.

"How old is she?" Joe asked.

"Nine months." I replied.

"Wow." He shook his head. "I remember when she was born."

"Me too." I chuckled.

"Yeah I definitely do." Jasey laughed, and I glanced over at her connecting our eyes.
I don't think I'd ever forget that day.

"I hate you so much!" Jasey screamed, clutching my hand.

"Jasey, just a few more pushes and she'll be out." Our doctor said.

"I really wish we could switch positions right now." She said through gritted teeth.

"It's almost over, babe." I said as she pushed once more. "I see her head," I whispered in her ear.

"Just one more, Jasey, your doing so well!" She pushed again and all of the sudden I heard loud crying. Tears fell from my eyes.

"That's her, Jay, she is so beautiful." I said, rubbing her arms. A nurse came to us a few minutes later, our baby in a pink blanket. She handed her to Jasey, who was crying, possibly out of pain but also out of happiness.

"Wow." Was all she said. Her face was creamy and pale, her eyes big and blue. She had a little tuft of brown hair on her tiny head.

"She's perfect." I said, running my finger along her soft cheek.

"She looks like you." Jasey smiled, "She has your eyes."

"She has your nose." I grinned and leaned in to kiss her. She smiled against my mouth.

"I love you. I'm sorry I yelled at you." She chuckled.

"It's okay. I mean it was understandable." I laughed.

"Hell yeah it was." She smirked.

I smiled in rememberance of that day. My family was the light in my life and I know I'll have them forever.
