I woke up to sound of Jasey cooing to Dani. "It's okay, baby. Shh." She whispered in her ear. Danielle was crying loudly and Jasey wa bouncing her back and forth, trying to get her to sleep.

I stood up and walked over to them. Jasey made a face at me and I chuckled before picking up Dani's favorite toy. It was a small, stuffed elephant with a tutu and ballet shoes on its feet.

"Look at this Dani, it's your favorite." I cooed shaking it in front of her face. She let out a few more crys before reaching for it and taking the toy from my hand. I smiled and kissed her forehead. I wrapped my arm around Jasey's hip as she bounced Dani on her hip. I sang into her ear as she sucked on her thumb and fell asleep on Jasey's shoulder.

I glanved at the doorway to see my mom. She smiled at me before walking away. I smiled back and then kissed Jasey's temple.

"Why was she crying?" I whispered.

"I don't know, I just woke up to her wailing. I checked her diaper, fever, and I fed her just a few hours ago." She shrugged and laid her back in the small crib. We had her sleeping in our room since we had to blow up an air mattress and put it in Dani's room for Jasey's parents, who were coming tomorrow.

"Awh." I frowned, "Well, she seems okay. Let's get to sleep, big day tomorrow." She nodded and we walked back to the bed. She immediately burrowed into my arms and I smiled. Sleeping with her always felt the same: perfect.

"Babe, can you take over feeding Dani please?" Jasey asked from her place at Danielle's high chair. I nodded and took the food from her hands. She moved to the stove and started cooking breakfast for everyone. Her parents were due to arrive any minute so she was doing all she could to impress them.

"Morning you two." My mom said, walking the kitchen, my dad following.

"Good morning." Jasey and I said in unison.

"Jay are Derek and Lauren coming soon?" I asked.

"Oh crap!" She said, cracking an egg. "I forgot about that. Tomorrow."

"Okay." I nodded. "Hopefully, they'll bring Grey. It'll be like a play date." Grey was Derek and Lauren's daughter. Dani and her were two months apart.

"They will." Jasey said, whisking the eggs around in the big bowl. I fed Danielle a spoon full of food and made a face, making her giggle.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I looked up at my wife to see her nervously biting her lip. She turned a burner on and glanced at me. I nodded and picked up Danj, before walking to the door and opening it up.
