You broke me but got me back up *COMPLETED*

-6 years later-

“Sophia, wake up… you’re gonna miss your plane… c’mon, don’t make me pour some cold water on you!” I yelled.

Sophia had a plane at 9 AM and well… it was 8 AM. She didn’t want to get up at all. That was my cue to pour the water.

“OH MY FUCKING GOD! KAYCEE I AM GOING TO MURDER YOU!”

I laughed and pulled her up.

“Princess Sophia of the Harris household, please wake up and get ready for your plane which leaves in 1 hour. Thank you for your attention,” I play.

She gets in the shower, gets out, puts some clothes on, brushes her hair and all the other stuff.

“I’m sure gonna miss you, big sis…”

Sophie gave me a hug and whispered: “Don’t worry… I’ll come visit. And so will you, right? Oregon, Portland, is beautiful! As far as I have heard though… I promise you I’ll keep in touch with you, Jess and mom.”

Oh I forgot to tell you something.

In this exactly 6 fucking years, Sophia finally accepted Callie as our mom. Well, she needed a year to be exact. Our last name now is Harris. Jason and Sophie are moving to Portland because they both got job offers there. Really great jobs. Sophia is a lawyer and Jason is a business man. I sense some dollars in the air… mmm… the smell is good. Well, if I ever get in trouble, I have my personal free lawyer! Our new mom told us the story about dad. He left her when mom got preggers with me and Jess. She never heard of him since then.

About Andy and me… he’s gone. I’ve never thought about him anymore. And I’ve got myself a boyfriend! A real boyfriend who loves me with all his heart!

No, it’s not Michael. Michael is with Jess. They’re kinda cute together, to be honest.
My boyfriend is Noah Jackson! He is the cutest boyfriend in the world! We meet in college. Oh! Forgot! I am a professional journalist now! I finished college and got my job here at a small magazine management. I can’t remember the name ‘cause it has billions of different magazines.

Well, he’s not a journalist though. I went to college and then I met him at a comic book store. Here’s how we met:

I walked down the hallway of the store with a pile of comics in my hands and earphones in my ears. I didn’t see where I was going so I bumped into a sweet guy.

“Ouch!” I shouted.

We found ourselves on the ground as my books messed the floor.

“Oh my gosh, I didn’t see you there! I’m so sorry! I didn’t look, I had my music turned up so loud and the books I’m-”

He cut me off.

“Hey, it’s alright! Here, let me help,” we picked up the books as our fingers touched. We started into each others eyes. He looked in my brown eyes and I looked into his grey ones.

After weeks of hanging out, he decided to call me out. And that’s where we had a thing going on.

He took me on a date in a hot air balloon. I’ve always wanted to fly with one of those! And I did!

When we were so high up, I was scared. He pulled me into a hug and whispered into my ear, saying: “It’s ok… we’re not gonna die. Just try to enjoy the view. I promise, nothing will happen to you.”

“You sure? Maybe we’ll be falling into the sea and get eaten by sharks and then only bones will be left o us.”

“Kaycee, you watch too many movies…” he said.

That’s when he cupped my face with his hands and kissed me.

“THIS… is a real movie,” I said, after the kiss.

Well. That’s our love story! I love him to death!


-Driving to the airport-


“Can you please turn up the radio? I wanna hear some songs before I go up there…” Sophie pleased.

I turned it up and put the volume on high.

“This song is AWESOME! NOOOOOO! It ENDED!!!!!!” she whined.

“There is a small interview isn’t it or something like that? I think they’re going to say who was that…”

‘That was Black Veil Brides with their song, Wretched and Divine!”

“See, that’s who it was,” I said.

“I guess. I’ll check up for them on the internet when I’ll be able to. Maybe they’re my new favorite band and you’ll be going on a concert with me!”

Sophie was in love with the song. Even though it played just the last part.


When we arrived at the airport, I said goodbye to her and Jason. They’re going to start a life together. A new life. A new beginning while I go to work… I’ll miss that little fucker.
“I’ll miss you… Don’t forget to contact me, ok?” I said, dropping a tear.

She hugged me and so did Jason.
“We’ll never forget to contact you. You make sure Jess and Michael are ok. Take care of mom. And take care of yourself!” Sophia said.

The lovebirds got to the gate and I was off to work. “There you are miss Harris!” my boss shouted through the hallway.

“Yeah, I am not late, am I?” I asked in confusion.

She shook her head and led me to her office.

“For our magazine, we need you to interview someone. We chose you, since you’re new and you always wanted to do interviews with famous people!”

Did she say ‘famous’ people?

“Excuse me? Did you say famous people? That’s my dream! I want to meet someone famous!” I said.

She gave me an address on where I have to go and said: “They’re an amazing band! You’ll love being around them! And I think that answers will be long so prepare your wrist. Oh, and, we’ve already made question so don’t worry.”

My face started to shine of happiness and I rushed to my car. Finally I’m doing an interview! I’m not just writing them down on a computer! I drove for 30 minutes until I got to that venue. It was actually a… little hangout place?

“Is this the right address?” I said, looking onto the list. Yeah, I came to the right place. I entered the building and saw a sign, saying it’s a restaurant. A small simple restaurant. Or something like that. Something like McDonalds.

“Um, excuse me, is there a band here for an interview? I’m Kaycee Harris. I was sent here by my boss.”

The waitress nodded and led me to a private VIP room.

And there were… 4 guys. I thought bands are made of 5 guys.

“Sorry to bother you, your interviewer came. Do you need anything else?” the waitress asked.

They shook their heads as she left the room.
“Hi there. I’m Kaycee Harris and I’m doing an interview with you today,” I nicely introduced myself.

“Hello. I’m Ashley,” said the outlaw tattoo guy without a shirt.

“I’m Jinxx.”

“Jake.”

“CC!” he shouted.

“Nice to meet you! So, um, I might sound stupid but what band are you? Can you also tell me what’s your position in it?” I asked a bit ashamed not knowing who they are.

“No problems sweetheart!” CC said.

“We’re the Black Veil Brides!” they all said at the same time.

“Wait a second, I heard your song on the radio this morning! It’s called… um…Wretched and Divine, right?”

They nodded as they introduced themselves one by one.

“Ashley, the bass player. Oh, if you’re wondering why I don’t have a shirt on, it’s because I’m too hot for shirts,” he said.

“Shut up Ash…” Jinxx mumbled.

“I’m Jake and I’m the guitarist! And so is Jinxx.”

“I’m also a violinist,” Jinxx said.

“Wow, I’ve always loved violins! The sound is just beautiful! But I’m not into that kind of music. I’m more of a heavy metal lover,” I said.

“I’m CC. Short for Christian Coma. And I’m on the drums.”

Well, I met all of them. Wait, something’s missing… a singer.

“Uh, who’s the singer?”

I was confused because none of them said they sing. NONE.
“Oh! That’s our man, Andy!” Ashley said.

Andy… that name… no, it can’t be my Andy. Nope.

“Oh… where is he?” I asked.

CC started to speak: “He’s got some issues and he couldn’t make it.”

Why does that name remind me of my Andy? Something’s really making me think it is him. After 2 hours of sitting there with the band, having fun and questioning them, I had to go.

“It was nice hanging around with you!” I said as I got up.

“Well, you could come see our concert tomorrow,” Ashley said.

“If it’s tomorrow, the tickets are sold!” I laughed.

“Not if we give you one,” Jake said.

I accept their offer and I guess I’m seeing their concert tomorrow. I even got Ashley’s number. Wait, did I just get the number of a rock star? I drove back home and mom wasn’t there. Jess neither. Guess they went to the mall again.

“It’s just me and you, my lovely house,” I said, throwing myself on the couch.
“Alright let’s-”

The doorbell rang. I ran to open the door and my baby boy was here!

“Noah!!!” my hands wrapped him into a hug.

“Hey babe, what’s up?”

I welcomed him inside and we talked in the living room.
“I just came from an interview with a band. Black Veil Brides. Their singer wasn’t there though,” I said.

“Really? I assume you get a phone number from one of them ‘cause I can see it on your table.”

I blushed lightly as he pressed his lips on my cheek.

“Hey, what do you say we go grab something to eat? I’m starving but lazy to make
something,” he said.

“Sure, let’s go. But you’re driving.”

I joked a little and we got in the car. We got in the small pizzeria and ordered a small pizza. Not a big one, because Noah would want another one.
When we sat down, a group of men got in too.
I turned around and saw Black Veil Brides walking pass us.

“Hey aren’t you Kaycee from our interview?!” CC asked. Actually shouted.

“Yeah, are you guys stalking me or something? We saw each other almost an hour ago and yet you’re here!” I joked.

They sat down and I introduced them to my Noah. Guess we had to order a bigger pizza.
“So, how’d you guys meet?” CC asked.

“Oh, it was college. After sticking in a house with nothing to do I decided to go on with my life and then I met him. He healed my wounds from my past relationship and I’m glad he did,” I answered.

Noah and I could hear a small “aw” from the guys.

“You two are really cute! Just like Andy and Juliet!” Ashley said in a high voice.
“Speaking of Andy, is he coming or not?” Jake asked.
Jinxx shook his head and spoke up: “No. He’s hanging with Juliet again. Guess she got him on right time, didn’t she?”

Why talking about Andy, the name that rings a bell to me.


Man, I was tired after all of that. Noah and I got back to his house and I spent the night at his place, watching a movie.

“Babe, aren’t you gonna watch it?” he asked.

I was doing my report from the interview and I was so focused on it.

“No thanks, I’m working on my report…” I mumbled.

He turned off the TV and scooted to me.

“Can you please leave your work and cuddle with your boyfriend who missed you a lot?”
I sighed and put away the papers.

“Fine, but just this time…”

He wrapped his arms around me, letting me fall into his lap.
“You’ve got no idea how beautiful you are,” Noah said.
I blushed and gave him a peck on his lips.
“Then show me…” I said.
He kissed me back and kept saying beautiful things to me.

But his phone cut us off. Someone called him again. It was the 10th time in this whole day. At least that’s what he told me. He picked it up and went to another room. But I could hear everything.

“What do you want? Not right now! I’m with my girlfriend! No, I don’t care. Whatever! C’mon, don’t worry. I’ll be there later, ok? Promise. Ok, bye, love you,” were the words he said.

‘Who was he talking to?’ I asked myself.

-Next morning-


7 AM. 7 fucking AM. Why can’t I sleep longer than that?

“Noah? Noah, baby, are you here?”

Nothing. Noah wasn’t here. I guess he’s already downstairs.
I head to the living room and I saw a note on the table.


Hey Kaycee.

Sorry I’m not home. I had some… important stuff to do. I won’t be home by tomorrow. It’s really important. You’ve got the keys to the house so if you need anything feel free.

“This is already the 3rd time in this month, Noah! What’s going on with you?”

I scraped the letter and threw it in the bin. I mean, why is he leaving like this and returning
not tomorrow, but in 3 fucking days!

My mind then remembered me that I have to attend a concert tonight so I had nothing good to do through the day. Jess has school today again and mom left to visit one of her old friends. I’m alone again… why???
