Things Aren't Always As They Seem

After everyone got ready, we drove down to the beach. When we finally got there, I climbed out and sighed contentedly.

"Wow, I didn't realize you loved the beach this much." Andy chuckled once everyone else had gotten out and we were walking towards the sand.

"I do. I was always the happiest at the beach when I was a kid."

"Well, I'm glad we decided to come here, then." he smiled.

"Race to the sea anyone?" Ashley asked, but I was already running before he'd finished.

We tossed our towels and stuff on a clear spot in the sand, then rushed to the water.

"It's so cold!" Ashley squealed once his feet touched the water. I just laughed and kept going till it was up to my waist.

"Oh, come on! Don't be such babies!" I called when I looked back and saw them hesitating at the edge.

"Hey! We're not babies!" Andy whined, then chased in after me, the others following suit.

"Yeah, you had me convinced with all the whining about it being cold." I giggled and dodged Andy when he tried to grab me.

"That does it!" he yelled and quickly picked me up before I could move away again.

"Put me down!" I screamed and squirmed in his arms.

"As you wish." he smirked, then dropped me down into the water.

I came up, coughing and spluttering as everyone laughed. "Asses." I muttered and splashed Andy, course that led into a full on war with him, Juliet, and the guys.

After playing around for a couple hours, we decided to head back home.

Or, at least, that was the plan. But as we were walking towards the car, there was a sharp pain in my chest.

"Oh!" I exclaimed as I bent over, clutching at my chest as it worsened.

"Are you okay?!" Juliet asked frantically and rushed to my side.

"N-no." I grimaced. "Momma Juliet... Th-thank you.. For e-every-" I tried to say, but was cut off as I started coughing into my hand. When I pulled it away, it was covered in blood. I looked up, shocked, before the world started to spin and I was met with darkness.
