My Romeo's Lullaby

Smiles From Ear to Ear

Aiden stormed out of the room. Franklin sat back down again and sighed, proceeding his paper work. The angry man mumbled to himself and walked fast to his wife to be.
Cora was leaning her elbows on the balcony's edge again reading another book, this was a different one as she had a more sad expression.
The sun shined on her dirty blonde locks as she read; her mother diary. Cora's mother past away when she sick, the afwul plague...
She shuffled a foot and kept her gaze on her book.
It was a beautiful picture. A princess reading a book on the edge of a baclony with lovely weather and a view so priceless. It was so peacefull, until the moment the ragefull man stepped through the door.
"Where are you?!" He shouted and took big steps. Cora spun around and held her thumb between the pages of the book.
"I-I've been here the whole time, what is wrong?" She asked softly, but still scared.
"It's GRACE, YOUR GRACE!" He shouted, making shut her eyes and lean back over the balcony.
"You have to talk to your father, NOW" He commanded taking a step forward, making her lean back more.
"What happened, your grace?" She stuttered.
"The filthy creatures 'The Wild Ones'd estroyed a village of mine, it happens to often so I might go to war with them." He growled in exhaustion while he leaned on his hands on the balcony, both sides of Cora.
She leaned back some more and yelled a high pitched scream: She fell backwards!
"CORA!" Aiden called after her, but it was to late, her dress slipped of the balcony and her hair was in strands behind her back as she looked at the rocks what was supposed to be her landing ground.
Aiden looked at his future queen shocked.
What does he have to do?
What CAN he do? But someone already cleaned his mess. Mora scooped Cora out of the sky and flew up, Cora cried in the on the shoulders of her Aunt and tried to stop shaking. The beautiful wings spreaded one more time and Mora dropped her on the balcony gently. Cora fell threw her knees as Aiden fell backwards.
"WHAT DO YOU WAT?P!" he yelled to in his eyes and unknown creature. It must be a freak from the east.
They never come here in the south never! What was that thing?! He didn't pay any attention to the girl who was crying on the floor, thanking that she still had her life in her hands, well , sort of. Mora landed on her feet and her wings went up in dark, green dust.
She helped Cora up and brought her to bed.
"WHAT ARE YOU?" He weackly grabbed a candlelier and used it as a poor weapon.
Mora ran inside and laid cora on her big bed.
"A friend." She snapped back, Aiden had enough of this nonsense. This creature talking to him from that tone!? Never! He ran out the room and tran back to the office.
Mora looked at his posture wich reselmbed a little kid snitching on his little sister.
"Now I understand." She said calmy. Her attention was back to Cora who was still shaking but has stopped cryin.
"Thank you so much, aunt Mora, thank you." Mora carressed her cheek.
"It's my job to protect you." And she vanished again, and again leaving a black ravens feather behind.
Cora laid down.
Why did this happened to her? Why did bad luck always found a way to bite her?
Her brain itched that she forgot something. Oh no...The book! Cora bolted up up and ran to the balcony.
The sun was alread going down. To her relief it was safe and sound on her chair. A feather inbetween the pages as a bookmark. She smiled and thanked mora with all her heart.

The next morning was the same as every other.
Andy woke up with his pants on an armor scattered around the black and golden room. He didn't even have the blankets over himself he just passed out from all the wine and beer.
He was woken by sunlight and groaned, similar to Cora's complain.
He heard a shuffling beside him and sowly blinked his eyes. The king furrowed his eyebrows. What he looked at could only be discribed as a blond lock that he knew was certainly not his. He sat up and she woke.
"Goodmorning your grace." She didn't have any clothes on and he dounbt it that she even had it on in this bedroom.
"Goodmorning, well, uhm, can I do something for you?" He stood up, this was not the first time he had a girl on a drunk night but it was stil awkward to handle,. The king grabbed his daily clothes and strapped them on himself.
"No, you paid me up front." He chuckled, ofcourse he did. He turned around and strapped his last under arm feathers on.
"Then go, the fire of the feast has blown out." He walked out of the room and to his lovely surprise, he didn't have any headaches. He ran into Koda who's hair was wet from the river water.
"Your grace." She smiled and bowed her head. They walked to the halls together and talked about the avenst of the day.
Nothing special.
Bored he sat on his throne. He wanted to do something, but he had already done everything. Everything was going smoothly and everything wsa eranged.
"Bring me my letters!" His voice ecoed through his throne room and the little writing table was soon brought with an ink feather.
He had 2 new letters and both with the same linnen strap, but different seal.
One was black with a snake and a dagger as a sigil: F.E.A.R, not that he didn't expected it.. The Second one was one he never saw before: a pink one with gold. It had a feather and a flower on it.
It looked personalised, he opened that one first.

Your grace,
I wanted to pay my respects for saving me the other day, please forgive for my rudeness I did not know it was you
.
I also want to thank you for freeing those people in need under F.E.A.R.s command. In all honesty your grace, I am glad you did your actions. Those people need your help.

keep it going...
your grace.

Cora.

Andy was shocked as he finsihed reading.
She was thankful? Wow, no one loved Aiden... ha ha.
He thought in his head. Maybe it was good to talk about this. Meeting up with her and maybe they could work something out to stop him.
Looked up and saw Koda walking towards him with a cup of wine. He smiled and held the letter for her to see and immediatly grab.
While Koda was sitting down she scanned the paper and smiled.
"You have a fan." She laughed and sat down on her seat.
"I was wondering maybe I could set up a meeting to talk to her about F.E.A.R, maybe she can help us, she's the closest to him at the moment..." The king leaned backwards and sighed. Koda muttered a a song and read a grabbed a book.
"Do you think she likes books?" Andy asked her.
He had his chin on his palm and looked at her.
"Girls usually like books right? What do you think a girl likes?" Andy pulled his feet up and wondered what she smells like.
Girls usually smell nice.
"Do you think she'll like me?" Koda whispered. Andy looked at her and smiled.
"Find out." He responded.

The whole day was filled with rain, Cora didn't mind ofcourse. She was having to much fun painting her door with scribbles and quotes from books.
The girl grabbed another strawberry from her plate and ate it. She loved the smell of strawberries.
"Do you think he will appreciate my letter?" She asked.
Mora flipped the page of her book and looked up. "I think he would, maybe a bit confused, but I think he will be shocked woth delightfullness, who wouldn't?" She smiled.
The door flew open again, lucky for Cora she just stood up or else it could have hurt her badly. Mora fanished out of shock, making the book drop to the floor.
"Who is that thing?!" He pointed at the spot where she sat.
"Did my father not tell you?" Cora wiped her hands and sat down beside a table.
"No I couldn't get passed his personal guards." He mumbled a bit ashamed. "Mora is my god mother, that's all I can tell you."
Aiden sighed and started walking towards her, he was pissed. Aiden stood a foot away from her and grabbed her throath making, her gasp.
"Don't talk to me like that." He growled. She struggled to get air, but he let go of her as soon as he heard Mora again. The king spun around and smiled.
"What are you?"
He asked with a smirk. "None of your concern." Mora responded, not making any eyecontact. She walked closer and grabbed him by the neck, the same way a cora. Now he was the one fighting for breath.
With no struggle at all, Mora walked to the balcony. The doors opened without her touching them and they stood on the edge of the railing. "What are you doing?" Cora followed her and stood behind them in the rain. Her blonde strands were getting wet and so was her dress. "I'm teaching him a lesson." Mora smiled ear to ear.
