My Romeo's Lullaby

Overture.

Cora shifted and grunted as soon as the first shot of sunlight hits her eye. "Miss, you have a meeting with your father." Her servant Monica said.
"Tell my father he can kiss my arse, I haven't eaten my morning meal." Cora threw the blankets of of her and crawled up. She saw her outift of the day and sighed, another corset...
"Actually Monica, scratch that." They both laughed. "I will get your morning meal and give you your letters, miss." She bowed and walked out the door.
Cora stood up from her bed and walked to her desk. She started to draw like always and waited for her tea. Her room was beautiful.
It was round and her desk was at the window who was surrounded by paintings on the wall.

She walked through the hallways to the great hall where her fathers throne stood.
Not all flattering she walked up to him and the first thing she said was:
"How am I supossed to breath in this?" She pointed at her corset and dress.
"You'll learn one day." Her father laughed and stood up from his throne. He embraced her and walked away, motioning that she must follow him.
"I want you to meet someone." Cora followed him to his personal office room.
He opened the door and cora followed, but when he stepped away from her view she saw a man sitting in a chair. The black haired man stood up and took her hand.
"My lady." He bowed. She made a little plie with her dress and knees.
"Father?" Franklin sat in his big chair. "Cora, love, meet Aiden Fortales." He heard that name before and not in a good way. She thought for a second and remembered who he was.
He was the king of F.E.A.R!
"Cora, he will be your future husband." Franklin said.
Cora blinked a few times.
"Excuse me what?" She begged to god that she missheard him. "You two are going to marry to rule the kingdoms together, so when I pass it will be in great hands."
Cora froze.
Was he serious?!
Last night everything was fine he didn't say a damn thing and now this!?
"Wha- huh-no-how- Why are you telling me this now? I don't even know who he is?!"
She stepped back.
"My apologies your grace, but I simply can't marry you." She grabbed her dress opening the door.
"Cora!" her father shouted after her, but it was to late. She ran as quickly as her dress allowed her and fled outside.
When she was in the big garden she calmed down. She couldn't believe that just happened. She can't marry someone she doesn't know.
And certainly not Aiden! Never! She catched her breath and rested against a huge plant pot.
"Miss, are you alright, can I do something for you?"
Monica asked behind her.
"No, thank you, I just need to calm down."
She walked a little farther and sat down on an bench. Cora shook a little and it was like she was having an anxiety attack.
Oh my god she can't do this. Monica sat behind her.
"Are you alright, miss?" Cora blew some air out and rubbed her forehead.
"Yeah I'm fine." She looked around in the beautiful garden. It was like a labyrint, you could get yourself lost in it and it wouldn't matter.
She always loved this garden because they always planted her favourite flowers. She shuffled a little with her feed on the gravel and heard footsteps in the distance.
Aiden walked towards her with his hands behind his back.
"My lady." He bowed and Monica stood up, bowed and walked away.
Aiden sat down a little too close thought cora.
She didn't want his attention. She was used to being independed and didn't need some war lover in her life right now.
"I know this might be a big shock for you, but if you concider it this is the best choice for our kingdoms." He looked at her but she didn't look back.
She didn't want to make eye contact with him. "How is this better for our kingdoms?"
She frowned. "Well, if we do not marry, I will have to go to war with your father."
She laughed sarcastically.
"How about you just don't start a war period, your grace." Aiden was shocked, no one talked to him like this.
"If we don't rule the kingdoms together I will have to go to war and we know what happened last time with your mothe-"
"KEEP MY MOTHERS NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH." She stood up and ran as away as fast as her dress allowed her.
Aiden didn't go after her, it was pointless anyway. He walked back to the castle with a sigh. Cora ran to the stables to visit her favourite horse. Her heart was racing and her breathing was quick.
This is why she hated corsets.
She walked in the stables and luckily everyone was having lunch.
Cora searched for her favourite horse Hazel, wich was a funny name because he was the only black and white horse.
Hazel licked her palm. "Hey boy, how have you been?" She petted his head and sighed.
Maybe she should go for a ride, a little alone time isn't so bad.
She opened the stable door and settled the seat on the horse and climbed on, dress and all. She was used to do things like this with a dress.
They galloped outside and into the forest. The speed wasn't that high at first but after a while she started to get bored.
Cora followed the path that lead to a river where she used to come with her mother to hunt fish. The path was surrouned by trees and bushes and wild life.
This was way better than the garden. Cora started racing and going faster and faster.
"Come-on you can do is Hazel." She petted his neck.
Everything was going so well that she didn't hear sounds around her.
Not a minute later she pulled on hazels neck strap as she didn't want to bang in the other men. Cora screamed one big time and then she fell to the ground.

Cora heard muffled sounds that sounded like voices. "Should I pick her up?"
A low voice said, she didn't recognize the voice but it sounded dangerous.
Her head was hurting like it banged into a stone, it probably did...
"No man, she's royal look at the horse gear." Cora blinked her eyes more than a few times to make her vision more clear.
"Look she's awake." She felt two arms lift her up, one under her back and one under her knees. "Are you alright, my lady?" She was sat down on a rather big rock and she rubbed her head. Cora looked up and saw a group of men looking at her.
All of them are wearing black and dirty gold wich was the colour of The Wild Ones.
She looked with big eyes at them.
What were they going to do?
She heard an awful lot about them and not all of it was all that good. She opened her mouth to say something, but someone already took the silence away.
"Come-on guys, you're scaring her, probably never seen a wolf or something."
The voice said and the men surrounding her parted a way wich lead to a man with short hair and feathers attached to his armor.
"Are you alright, my lady?" He walked towards her and took her hand.
"Yes I'm fine." She said breathlessly.
"I didn't mean to bother your way, I told my men to be carefull." The last bit he said a little angry and looked over his shoulder to the men.
Cora stood up and straightened her dress. "No, it was my fault I was going of the path."
She looked around for her horse and walked to him.
"What is your destination miss?" He walked after her.
"That information is a little private for a man I don't know." She climbed on her horse again. "How rude of me, Andrew Biersack, king of The Wild Ones, breaker of chains, master of dragons."
He smirked and he saw her eye widen again.
"Forgive me for my rudeness your grace."
He chuckled.
"It's fine, well, Cora Forester, princess of Forendall, I hope you have a save trip back." He kissed her hand one more time and walked back to his men. She turned on her horse and galloped away.
"What just happened?" She asked herself.

"NO, WHY DO I HAVE TO SACRIFICE MY HAPPINESS, when you can just cancel the battle?!" She grabbed a vase and threw it on the ground, smashing it a foot away from her feet.
"Cora, calm down!"
Her father shouted from behind the desk.
"I just don't get it." Cora teared up.
"I know this is a lot to take in, but you have to understand this is the best for our kingdom."
She laughed sarcastically with a wickedness to it.
"OH you THINK this is the BESt for your kingdom? HOW ABOUT STOP GOING TO WAR FOR NOTHING, THAT'S A GOOD START"
And with that she walked out again. This time to her room because it was already dark out.
She kicked her door open and threw it shut.
Cora walked to her balcony and grabbed a book fomr under her bed.
On the balcony she kneeled down.
"Oh, holy-spirit hear by me, I have a request you see,
show me your eyes and I won't lie,
please holy spirit show me your face and I will listen even as your grace,
please holy spirit, let me hear your voice, as now you have no choice."

She whispered. Not even a moment later something appeared in the light and she smiled through her tears.
A black sparkle followed by smoke spread in the sky and a woman appeared. "You summoned me, my child?" She smiled and looked down at her.
"Mora!" Cora stood up and hugged her god-mother.
"Oh my heavens child, what happened?" Mora asked through her red lips.
"You won't believe what hapened today." Cora whispered and looked at the stars.
