Far And Away.

Know It All

Flora's heart was pounding so hard in her chest that she could hear her own heartbeat in her ears. Andy was being rushed to a local hospital after his fall and even though she was technically his PR Agent, Flora was not allowed to get in to the car with him. A friend of their assistant was driving him and even as he passed by Flora, Andy seemed like he could barely hold it together. A red light flashed in her eyes and Flora screeched as she slammed on her breaks, being left behind at a red light.

"Dammit!" She shouted out in to the interior of her car, smacking her hands against the steering wheel.

Flora was furious with Andy-she had every right to be-but deep down she had to admit that seeing him again had made her heart flutter. He had been shocked to see her there and Flora knew it had thrown him off, but the pure pretentiousness of his attitude just made Flora even angrier at him. Andy had starred her down a few times during their first song and Flora had been sorely tempted to flip him off.

Finally, after what seemed like forever and only two red lights later, Flora was pulling her car in to the parking lot of the hospital. There was no sign of Andy and she cursed herself for not paying better attention to what the car he had been riding in looked like. Taking a chance, Flora got out of her car and made a bee-line for the front doors.

A large round desk sat just inside of the double sliding doors and Flora rushed over. The woman sitting behind a large computer screen looked up at the girl standing before her, with her wild hair and panicked eyes and only smirked. Flora cleared her throat, smiled as sweetly as she possibly could and then spoke.

"Hi. I'm hoping you can help me. My friend was just brought in to this hospital with a chest injury and I would like to know where he is." Flora said very matter of factly. One thing she had learned from work was to get what you want by being kind, smiling softly and looking the person in front of her straight in the eyes.

"His name?" The nurse asked and Flora bit her lip. Andy was still going by his full name...right?

"Andrew Biersack." Flora said and then a flurry of typing sounded out from the desk. The woman looked up at Flora, squinted her eyes at her suspiciously and then opened her mouth to speak.

"He's being admitted in to the ER right now. No room yet, but you can wait down that hallway and see if he walks past." She said and then went right back to what she had been doing before Flora had walked up.

Flora walked away, without saying thank you, and headed towards the hallway that the slightly rude nurse had pointed towards. This could be a very long wait. Flora sighed as she flopped down in hard backed chair and then placed her elbows on her knees and her face her hands as she prepared to wait. For as long as it took.

Flora had called Brayden the minute she had gotten in to her car, telling him everything and it sounded to Flora like her boss was having a mini meltdown. Why would Flora let Andy get up on that riser? Why hadn't she stopped him? The band hadn't even been clients of theirs for an entire day and already they were fucking things up. Flora had stayed silent as Brayden had gone on and on until finally he demanded that she go to the hospital and set up a vigil next to Andy'd death bed.

Whatever.

The hour that Flora had already been sitting there suddenly turned in to four and she was beginning to get flustered. What were they doing to him? Why was this taking so long?
Flora looked up as she heard footsteps coming towards her from down the hall, but her hopes were dashed as janitor with a mop bucket walked past.

Fuck.

"Are you Flora?" Someone asked and Flora jumped as she had been spoken to from a direction she hadn't been expecting. A friendly looking nurse in pink scrubs was standing beside her, smiling down at the exhausted girl.

"Uh, yes?" Why was she making it sound like a question? The nurse only smiled at her, nodding her head in a direction opposite the way Flora had been focusing on.

Way to go Flora.

They walked in silence, passing through a set of electrically locked doors and suddenly Flora found herself looking down a long hallway lined with curtains. Behind those curtains were beds and in those beds were people suffering from whatever was hurting them. The nurse kept walking and Flora wondered silently if Andy was being kept separate from everyone else. They turned a corner and suddenly Flora jumped as a shout filled the air.

"Mother fucker!" She knew instantly that Andy was being kept to himself purely because he was being difficult. As usual.

"He's got three shattered ribs on his right side. He's in a lot of pain, but the medication should be kicking in soon." The nurse informed her before walking away and leaving Flora to face a closed light blue curtain.

Should she knock?

"An-Andy?" She asked lamely and there was a growl from behind the curtain.

"Piss off...I don't need any more fucking medication." He said through possibly clenched teeth. He thought she was a nurse...

"Andrew...quit acting like an ass." Flora said as she placed one arm around the fabric of the curtain and pushed it aside.

Andy was sitting up in bed, his bare chest heaving as he struggled to breathe. His face was pale, makeup covered and his black hair was sticking up at weird angles. The singer looked up, his blue eyes angry as he took site of the person in front of him. Why the fuck was she here? Flora stepped towards the bed, but stopped short as Andy groaned and then let out a yowl that made him sound like a wounded cat.

"I'm not acting like an ass...I have three broken ribs so I'm allowed to scream." He said matter of factly and Flora only rolled her eyes as she took a seat in yet another uncomfortable chair beside him.

"Shattered." She said simply and Andy only looked at her with one eyebrow cocked.

"What?" He asked and Flora tried to hide her smile. She loved rattling his cage.

"Your ribs. They're shattered...not just broken." She said and Andy let another growl escape his lips.

"Same thing."

"Not really..." Flora said and Andy's eyes, which had been tightly closed, popped open and he seemed to just want to stare at her.

"What the fuck do you want Flora? Why are you here?" He asked and Flora could only frown. Of course he didn't know...Andy never ever seemed to concern himself with what was going on outside of his tiny little world.

"I'm your new PR Agent...welcome to the Alt PR family." Flora said and Andy could only just stare at her. Flora knew this was going to be interesting and as her phone buzzed and she looked down at the screen, her stomach seemed to clench.

Brayden: Your first assignment-make Andy as comfortable as possible and stay by his side until he's fully healed. Their manager is contacting Kevin Lyman...they're off the tour until he's healed. Make him comfortable Flora and DON'T LET HIM OUT OF YOUR SITE!

Fucking fantastic

I hate the fact that Flora let her dad get in her head. Had it not been for him, I'm sure she would be going to California with the band right now. Ohio State really isn't a big deal as far as schools go, and the school in California is just as prestigious (if not more so). Even from a more logical and practical standpoint, it does not seem like Flora is making a good choice.
