Far And Away.

Back To It

Christmas came and went, New Years ghosted right by and Flora and Andy unfortunately found themselves going back to school. The guys had done a few shows over break and Flora noticed them getting better and better every time they walked out on stage. She was so proud to have watched them grow already and to hopefully keep watching in the future.

As her alarm clock blared Situations by Escape The Fate she only groaned. She didn't want to wake up, feeling spoiled from sleeping in for three weeks. Now it was back to the life of studying, studying, and studying some more.

She swung her skinny legs over the side of the bed. The only thing covering her body was a white tee-shirt with the new Black Veil Brides logo. Andy had printed about two hundred and they sold fast but he saved nine- a shirt for his mom, dad, Flora, and her mother, and the guys along with himself.

Around her neck and resting on her collar bone was her Christmas gift from Andy. It was a beautiful necklace with a small diamond hanging off. She loved it- everything about it screamed Flora, simple. Andy knew her so well and that warmed her heart.

She walked out of her room, needing a little coffee before she got ready to already smell something delicious. As she looked up she saw her mother and Andy sitting at the counter. Flora smirked, this wasn't a strange occurrence, in fact it was completely normal. Her mother loved
Andy like a son. He, Chris, and Amy were almost always over in the Smith-Walsh apartment. Even though Flora hated her father- she couldn't take her mothers maiden name. It was too painful to let him go like that.

"Morning." She mumbled, smiling as she saw he still wore his pajamas as well, though his were adorned with the Batman symbol about fifty times over. Flora almost wished they could knock down a wall in their apartments and live together. She loved the Biersack's so much and was happy to have them in her life so often.

"Hey babe." He said, standing up to kiss her.

"Did you make coffee mom?" Flora asked, rubbing her eyes.

"Mhm, in the pot. I had a feeling you two would need anything and everything to wake up. Muffins baking in the oven too." Donna smiled at her daughter.

"Thanks mom." Flora said, taking her favorite mug out of the cabinet and quickly making her coffee. She sat down next to Andy and rested her head on his shoulder.

"I'm dying." She groaned against the fabric of his shirt. "I don't think I've ever been so tired."

"Really babe? Never been this tired? Not even after those all night band practices?" Andy chuckled.

"Don't. Remind. Me." She shook her head, taking the longest sip of coffee she could muster.

"As much as you'd like to forget them, they happened." He said, making a face at her that made her laugh. "Want me to drive you to school today?" She smirked, Andy's parents had gotten him a car for Christmas. A shitty one that Flora was scared for her life in- but nonetheless a car he could drive around.

"Sure." She said, "Better than walking."

"Don't say that!" He exclaimed.

"Why?" She quirked her eyebrow.

"That constitutes you had to think about it.." He frowned as he heard Donna laugh from behind them.

"Flora's whole mind is one big algebra problem." She shook her head. "She thinks about everything."

"It's true. Why do you think I hated you for so long?" Flora chuckled.

"I was an asshole?" He smirked.

"That was part of it. Also because I kept thinking of the thousands of outcomes of our eminent failure." She laughed, shaking his shoulders.

"Stop using big words!" He whined, "It's early."

"I'm not the one who just said constitute.." She chuckled as he stuck his tongue out at her.

"Alright you two, quit the bickering and get ready. You'll be late!" Donna said, taking her muffins out of the oven. Flora looked at Andy who only smiled and pecked her.

"I'll be back for one of those muffins, Donna!" Andy said, winking at his girlfriend.

"I know you will be." Donna laughed just as Flora walked back to her room.
Fifteen minutes later she came flouncing out of her room in her Doc Martin boots, leggings her hair thrown up and a crew neck on.

"So..tired.." She mumbled, falling down on the couch. Andy walked in moments later, immediately laying on top of her. Donna just chuckled at the lovers and best friends.

"Get up you two- it's time for school." She said, walking over and handing them both muffins.

"Let's skip." Andy mumbled.

"Let's not." Donna said, "You'll be late. Go on!"

"Fine." Flora groaned, pushing Andy off her with a grunt, chuckling as he landed on the floor and stood up. He made a sad face at her as she extended her hand to him and helped him up. "Bye mom." She said, grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.

"Love you!" Donna said.

"Love you too." Flora said, her mouth full. She threw up the peace sign and the couple walked out of the apartment. "Let's poke our head in your apartment."

"Okay." Andy said, polishing off his muffin. She opened the door and smiled seeing Chris and Amy on the couch.

"Hey guys." Flora said. They both looked up at her happily.

"Hi sweetheart, Andy driving you to school?" Amy asked.

"Yeah, just wanted to say hello." Flora said, leaning over to hug them both.

"Hope Andy's not bothering you too much." Chris chuckled.

"I'm not!" He exclaimed, grabbing milk from the fridge and drinking from the carton.

"Andrew!" Amy yelled. "Get a glass, we aren't animals!"

"Sorry!" Andy chuckled, putting the carton back in the fridge. "Come on, babe. We really are going to be late."

They walked out of the apartment and down to is car. Andy drove like a maniac to get to school in time but they did.

They even had about ten minutes to spare so they stood by Andy's locker, talking quietly. People were staring at them, probably wondering when they actually happened.

Suddenly, Andy's blue eyes landed on a boy with dirty blonde hair. He looked new and he felt for the kid since he seemed so lost.

He grabbed Flora's hand and pulled her towards him. "What are you doing?"

"New kid." He mumbled, making her raise her eyebrow. The boy looked in their direction and Andy smirked seeing he had on a ripped up AFI shirt. "Hey I'm Andy, and this is my girlfriend Flora."

The boy smiled as he took them in. "Hey, I'm Chance."

Notes

Comments

I hate the fact that Flora let her dad get in her head. Had it not been for him, I'm sure she would be going to California with the band right now. Ohio State really isn't a big deal as far as schools go, and the school in California is just as prestigious (if not more so). Even from a more logical and practical standpoint, it does not seem like Flora is making a good choice.
