Aftermath
*Third Person POV*
Andy was drug off the battlefield along with his friends and those who were still breathing. Their numbers had been drastically cut and friends, along with enemies lay strew out on the battlefield. Who really won this battle? It would seem like no one really did. The casualty count on both sides were high and by the end of the night, they might be higher yet.
Andy was taken to a house that was also holding Ashley and Jesse. Another house held Vic, Orion, Jake, and Ellie. Jack, Alex, Jinxx and Seripha were in a house together. That left CC, Carla, Mike, and Maya together. Out of those named, only Seripha, Orion, Mike, Maya, and Ellie were even conscious.
Maya and Ellie both were unharmed. They had stayed posted in the sanctuary as instructed. Mike had managed to only have minor injuries due to his ability to disappear. Seripha had fighting skills above any average angle due to her training and she had managed to not only fight off the experiments but also save Jinxx. Orion’s ability saved her life but also put Vic at risk. When she sucked the power away from the experiments, she also sucked some of Vic’s energy, sending him into a coma like state.
All the injured were being treated by the humans and any remaining uninjured Fallen. No one could rest. They were all on edge. Maya had taken over with the help of Ellie and they were both running things they best they could. The infirmary was over filled and with no angels to help heal them, the injured were in profuse amounts of pain.
They had lost over half of their numbers in this one battle. Those who had lost their lives on the battlefield were lined up outside the protective barrier so loved ones and friends could say their goodbyes and then they were burned. All throught the night the bodies lit up the night and you could hear the cries of the ones left behind.
They had no choice though, the survivors were need to tend to the hurt. Maya and Ellie set up patrols and kept an eye on the wounded. Mike tried to convince Maya to sleep but she wouldn’t hear a word of it and forced Mike to stay put. Ellie kept going from the outpost to Jake in hopes that he would wake up. It killed her to see him in the state he was in but nothing could be done.
None of them seemed to be waking up anytime soon. Jake had his wing bandages and they weren't sure he would ever fly again due to the fact that nearly half of it had been chopped off. Jack and Alex both had multiple stab wounds that ran clean through them. The worst part was one of the experiments had run a spear through both of them after they had fallen and broken it off inside of them. Jesse had rushed to Ashley’s side and she ended up in critical condition. The sword that was meant for Ashley's heart pierce her in the back almost between her wings and ran through her and pierced Ashley’s lungs. Jinxx had a spear clip his wing and ran through his shoulder. CC had been badly burned by a Hell Hound and it was only made worse by the fact that he was still healing from the poison. When Carla rushed to his side, she tried to fend off a Fallen and he crushed her ribs. Once Mike had realized how bad things were, he went invisible and tried to surprise attack them. It half worked until he was found and he had to face and experiment head on. He won but not before the experiment ran a dagger through his arm.
Had the experiments not have been there, the battle would have been won by good but as fate would have it that was not the case. Now with the main pieces out of the game, there was no telling what Lucifer had planned or what was going to happen next. They were for sure at their weakest and that was never a good thing.
*Unknown POV*
“Where am I?” he asked the darkness surrounding him.“Who’s there?” A familiar voice rang out. “Your tricks won’t work!”“What are you talking about? Where are you?”
A light shine and a female started walking towards him. He still couldn’t make out his surroundings because the only light was coming from the figure walking to him.
“This is a cruel trick but I won’t fall for it. Change back. I am not playing your games.” The girl spat at him.“What are you talking about? Show yourself.” The man instructed. “If you wanted to see me that bad then you would do it. Quite trying to fool me father, it won’t work.”“I have no idea what you are talking about! Please, explain?” The man pleaded from his place on the floor. The light had stopped moving and was just watching him.
He tried to get up but his limbs wouldn't listen. They refused to respond. He was stuck there staring at the light, pleading with it to come forward.
“Who are you? Where am I?” he pleaded once more. The light vanished and then suddenly reappeared right in front of him. He was blinded as the girl grabbed his chin and inspected him. He still couldn’t see her face.
She let out a shocked gasp, “Is it really you?”
