Fallen Angels

“I’ve done the best I can.” Vic said ten minutes later.

I looked around and didn’t notice anyone but Vic and Maya. The rest of us had completely been transformed. I did notice that we all had the same snake tattoo that signified we were part of Lucifer’s army.

“Jinxx can you keep this up?” I asked, turning to the lanky man with red hair I hoped was Jinxx. The reply came from the shorter man with brown hair, “I think so.” Damn I couldn’t even tell my companions apart.

“Hold on.” Vic said mumbling a few words. My vision blurred for a second and when it came back I could see everyone again. I looked at Vic who just smiled and shrugged.

“Okay it’s time to move out. I know there has to be a path into Hell close because of the camp. We will start there. If anyone asks we were a scouting party that got lost.” The nodded as we stepped outside. “We don’t want to be caught so follow me.” I told them taking off to the back. I checked to make sure no one was looking and took straight to the air. The rest followed. We got above the clouds so no one could see us and took off for the Fallen camp. To my surprise, there was no one there.

There were burn marks on the ground from a fire and some tracks but no one remained. We landed to search for the gateway. Needless to say, we were shocked when we found the gaping hole in the earth that led to Hell.

“It must not matter if they are left open anymore. I mean this is a war.” Jinxx said.
“Everyone be on guard but don’t act suspicious. We just need to find the infirmary and get the antidote. Mike..” I said trailing off. He had already managed to disappear. “I know you are there Mike, be on the lookout. Ellie any ideas?”
She closed her eyes for a second. “So things are kind of choppy but the infirmary is on the first level. We must not go lower than that.”

Hell had nine levels. The ninth being Lucifer’s frozen domain. Each level was something different but the first was limbo. That was the least violent of the nine. We continued walking, passing a few Fallen here and there. None stopped to question us, they just passed by, some nodded others just ignored us.

Finally the hallway we had been walking down opened into a huge plaza, the first level. Many imps and Fallen were walking around. Also the deeper you got, the worse the monsters were. The first level was where the lowly demons and imps stayed, the ones who were out casted from the other levels.

I looked at everyone else who was following close behind me. “To the right.” Ellie whispered. I gave her a slight nod and we headed in that direction. There were shop type things set up in the road and it looked like an undead market. The dead were bargaining with other dead for food or jewelry or even clothes. It was like we had stepped back in time.

Ellie stopped to admire it but Seripha pulled her along. Mike was still nowhere in sight but I knew he was close. Jinxx seemed to be doing a good job at keeping the spell going but I didn’t want to push him to hard.

I continued on the path until I heard screams. All of us automatically went into defensive mode until we realized that the screams were coming from the infirmary. I signaled the others to stay back and I peaked my head in.

What I saw was grotesque. Fallen were operating on demons and other Fallen alike. They just threw them on the table, restrained them, and started cutting. The screams pierced through the air and shook me to my very core.

I returned back to my group, “Ellie see past what they are doing, I need to know where the antidote is. If you see the operations, close your eyes. That is an order. Understand?” She nodded and closed her eyes.

I heard her gasp and knew what was coming next. I did the only thing I could and covered her mouth before she could scream. Her eyes flew open and I knew that meant she had seen the horrors I had tried to stop her from seeing. “Second door on the left.” She whispered her voice barley audible. I handed her to Seripha and relayed the message to Mike a little louder.

I hoped he heard me because we didn’t have much time. I could tell Jinxx was starting to get drained from keeping up the spell and it was just a matter of time before he slipped. Ellie was in hysterics and if we didn’t get her to calm down soon she would attract attention.

Needless to say, as soon as she started crying people noticed and started staring. “Seripha get her back to camp.” I commanded.
“But what about you guys?” She asked looking to me and Jinxx.
“Jinxx go with them and keep up the spell. They must make it back safe.” I told him ignoring her question. I walked over to a booth that had a cloak and tossed him some money. He gladly handed it over. I put it on and threw up the hood.

“I will wait for Mike. You guys have to go now. Jinxx can’t keep up the spell for much longer and Ellie is attracting attention. Seripha you have to protect them. Mike and I will be fine.” I told them. Seripha looked like she wanted to argue but after looking at Jinxx and Ellie she nodded and headed back to the entrance.

I pulled the cloak tight around me and waited for Mike. I strained my ears to hear anything from the infirmary. I was staying on my guard and I was now getting a lot of looks because the cloak covered my face. “Hurry up Mike.” I whispered to no one in particular. I then heard a noise behind me and turned to see Mike holding up a bottle with smoky liquid. He had a stupid grin on his face. “Got it. Wait, why are you in a cloak?”

“Jinxx, Ellie, and Seripha are gone. So that means the cloaking spell is gone to. They can see..” I was cut off by yelling and pointing in our direction. “Mike go! Get it to CC, I’ll cover you!”

He didn’t bother to argue. He took off, disappearing at some point. I pulled my swords off my back and retreated after Mike. I was met by some imps I easily cut down. I thought I had a clear shot to the exit when two Fallen stepped in my way. One shot lightning out of her hands and the other had a giant axe. I was confused at why such a little man had a big axe until I watched him grow and become a giant that blocked the entire exit.

Damn it that was my only way out. I wasn’t even sure if Mike made it out. I dogged a bolt and lunged to her, shoving one of my swords through her outstretched hand and the other straight between her rib cage and out through her wings. She fell, not ever making a sound.

I could hear a gasp go up from the crowd behind me. I had to finish this before more Fallen came. I turned to the giant who was shocked that I had just cut down the lighting user. He turned to me and swung his axe. I barley dogged it as he swung again.

I continued dogging, looking for a weak spot. He was slow because he was so big. I figured that if I could cut him enough he would have to return to normal size. So just as he went to swing again I made my move. I sliced straight down the arm holding the axe and made my way to his legs. I let loose my dual swords and he fell to his knees, not shrinking like I had hoped.

However when he fell, there was a hole that I could squeeze through at the very top. I jumped up and opened my wings hoping I was quick enough. I jumped off his shoulder and through the hole, dropping into darkness.

As soon as I hit the ground I took off running. I heard footsteps ahead of me and I could only hope it was Mike.

So I based Hell off of Dantes Inferno, if you haven't read it or even watched the movie what are you doing with your life! Go watch the movie at least! Anyway, I hope you guys like this! They (hopefully) get he antidote to CC.

Also, I am going home for Thanksgiving today but I will try and update from there! If I don't I just want to say Happy Thanksgiving! When I return I will be 10 pounds heavier!!
