Fallen Angels

I left Alese and Carla at my house and headed to the infirmary. I flew straight there and saw a crowd of people milling about. Once they saw me they moved and made a path for me to get through.

“What’s going on?” I asked someone who was standing nearby.
“I heard that there is an enemy in there.” He said quietly.

What? An enemy, how come no one told me. I rushed in to see Vic standing over someone unfamiliar and chanting. Orion walked over to me, “He is the one who stabbed CC. Some guards brought him in. Vic is trying to go through his mind right now. We sent a guard to tell you but I guess you beat him here.”

I nodded, “Thanks, where is CC?” she pointed to a curtain and I went in. Seripha and Jinxx were in there with him.

“Jinxx put a sleeping spell over him so he wouldn’t be in pain.” Seripha informed me.
“How bad is it?” I asked, concerned for my friend.
“It went right through his wing. He almost lost it. Whatever weapon the guy was using had poison on it. We don’t know what kind and we can’t stop it. That’s why Vic is going through his mind. We need to find a way to cure it or he loses his wing…” Jinxx trailed off.

If he lost his wing, he lost his life. All angels knew that. Our wings were our life forces, without them we would die.

“Can you slow the poison any?” I asked, now frantic.
“I have been trying. The only one who has a chance at doing it is Carla. She is better at healing than any of us.” Jinxx informed me. “And she is too distraught to do anything. With their connection she can feel the poison and knows what he is going through. We had to get her out of here because anytime she gets close, she tries to take the pain from him and she hurts herself.”

Right then Vic came up to us. “I got into his mind. The poison is something Lucifer and Juliet came up with. They have the antidote and are the only ones who know it. Apparently that blade was meant for Andy but Carla hit him with an arrow and so he started to go after her when CC jumped in and ended up getting it instead of Andy.”

“So the only way to save CC is by going to the Devil himself.” I stated out loud pretty much to myself. “I’m going to check on everyone else then see if I can talk Carla into trying to slow the poison. Vic if you are up for it I need you to meet me at my house in about 20 minutes, Seripha and Jinxx you to please. I’ll send someone to watch over CC.” They both nodded and I headed off to check on everyone else.

I found Ashley and Jesse first. They were still arguing over whose was worst. Jesse had a gash in her leg and you could see her bone. Ashley’s was in his side and I think it might have hit an organ.

“Mine is worse! Feel this.” Jesse.
“That is nothing, feel this!” Ashley.

They were pushing pain through their links trying to make the other one agree. Neither seemed to be caving though.

“Really guys? We have bigger problems then whose is worse. I need you two to get patched up and then you are in charge of the guard. We need someone on patrol at all times and I want them to sweep up to 5 miles from the sanctuary. Can I entrust that to you?” I asked them and they nodded.

I walked off to find Jack and Alex next. I found them cuddled on a bed together. They were both pretty badly cut up and bruised.

“Andy!” they cried when they saw me.
“Is Alese okay?” Jack.
“Are you okay?” Alex.

“Yes guys we are both fine. However CC isn’t. I’m putting Ashley and Jesse in charge of the guards. I need you guys to start training humans and angels alike, double time. The war is here and we have already lost the first battle. We need to be prepared. Also I am going to need you to watch over Alese and don’t let her do anything stupid.” I told them. They gave me confused looks.

“What do you mean?” Alex.
“What’s going on?” Jack.
“I will have someone explain later but for right now trust me. So can you do that for me?” They both nodded and I set off to find Jake and Ellie. When I found them, Jake was in bed with Ellie fussing over him.

“I am so sorry! I never even saw him..” Ellie was apologizing to Jake.
“Baby, it’s okay. I am fine. It’s just a flesh wound. I will be healed up in no time. I am fine.” He reassured her.

“Hey guys. Jake I have a favor to ask, when you get patched up can you watch over CC and make sure someone is there with him at all times. Orion will explain what happened.” Jake nodded. “Ellie I need you to be at my house in 20 minutes please.” She gave me a small smile and nodded. “Thanks.” I said and walked off.

The last two were Maya and Mike. Mike was having his cheek cleaned when I found them. “Mike, I need you at my house in 20 minutes along with you Maya, please.” Maya nodded to me and Mike gave me a thumbs up.

Now I had 20 minutes to talk Carla into calming down to help CC. I left the infirmary and took off to my house. When I got there Carla wasn’t in hysterics and Alese was making tea. I walked into the kitchen to tell my wife of the situation.

“We need to get Carla there to slow the poison. Can you talk her into it and keep her calm enough to do it?” I asked.
“I think I should be able to.” She told me and walked into the living room with the tea.

15 minutes later and numerous breathing exercises later, Carla was calm and agreed to go try since it was best for CC.

“Are you not going to come?” Alese asked me as I walked them to the door.
I shook my head, “I have some stuff to go over with a few of the others. Go help Carla she is going to need you.” Alese hesitated; I pulled her to me and gave her the most passionate kiss I could. “I love you Alese.” I told her as I pulled away.
“I love you to Andy. I will be back soon.” I just nodded as they took to the air.

About the time they took off Vic, Mike, Maya, Ellie, Jinxx, and Seripha showed up.

“Okay I am going to make this quick.” I said as everyone gathered into my living room. “CC is going to die unless we get the antidote. The only antidote is with Lucifer. I am going in to get it and I need your help. This isn’t going to be easy and it’s going to be dangerous. I am not forcing any of you to do it. However I picked you because I believe you will be the best for the job. I want to get in, get it, and get out. Vic I was hoping you would be able to disguise us, make us look like someone we aren’t so he won’t know the difference. Maya I want you to stay here and help keep everything in order, I know once everyone finds out what we are doing it will be chaos. Ellie I need your help finding it and keeping us out of danger. Jinxx you will keep up Vic’s illusion spell because we need him here helping heal. Seripha I need you in case things get ugly, you are our best warrior. Then Mike, you will be the one getting it. No one is as stealthy as you. That is my plan. If you don’t want to be a part of it, speak now. I know it is asking a lot but it is for CC. I will go in alone if I have to. So are you with me?” I asked the group of people standing in front of me.

One by one the nodded. “For CC!”

Andy, Mike, Ellie, Jinxx, and Seripha are about to go into the Devil's Den. How do you think this will end??
