Almost Unbreakable

"Okay?" I said, raising my eyebrow.

"I mean like somebody in this music scene. It can't just be anyone." John said, "If we just get a regular backup singer nobody will be excited about it."

"Any ideas?" I said, sitting down in the other chair next to him.

"Maria Brink, from In This Moment." John said. I shook my head.

"Nah, she's a good singer. She just isn't what would sound good. I don't want screams." I shrugged, "What about Ash Costello?"

"No." John shook his head.

"Why not?" I asked.

"She's in everyone's songs, we need to think out of the box." He sighed.

"Hate to say it but there aren't many girl singers." I said.

He closed his eyes and leaned back, "Can Daisy sing?"

"No." We heard from the behind us. I turned around and shook my head at her, smiling. She stuck her tongue out.

"Alright then.." John hummed, "Taylor Momsen."

I cringed, "No."

"Why!?" He exclaimed.

"I don't know. Her voice wouldn't go with the song." I said.

"Alright fine." John pressed a button and looked at CC, "Hey C." He looked up at us, "We need a girl in Lost It All who should we get?"

"Oh that super hot chick on The Voice. She used to be in a band!" He exclaimed. I felt my throat tighten.

Oh no.

"Oh Juliet Simms!" Daisy said, "She's awesome, get her."

"She hates me." I said.

"Why?" John asked.

"I don't know. She always has ever since Warped 2011, apparently I'm a dick." I shrugged.

"She probably thinks your hot." Daisy chuckled, still scrolling on her phone.

"She's got a point." John smirked.

"Well I have a girlfriend so that doesn't matter." I said.

"Well listen we'll give her a call, and if it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out. I think she'll want the opportunity." John said.

"Fine." I groaned, walking back over to Daisy. I fell back on the couch and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She patted my stomach and leaned into my side. I watched her as she closed her eyes and soon enough drifted off to sleep.

"She just fell asleep!" John whispered, loudly.

I nodded, "She falls asleep so fast."

"I need my singer!" He exclaimed.

"I'm trying to sleep, John!" Daisy grumbled, her eyes till shut. I laughed and she smiled against my stomach.

"Sorry." I shrugged. John shook his head and went back to CC. I leaned my head back and fell asleep myself.
