Chapter 6
Colette’s pov
The minute the first chord was struck my hands went to my ears. I knew Phoebe wouldn’t see because she was too engrossed in the music. I watched cc drum and as I watched him my hands slowly removed themselves from my ears and I focused on his amazing drumming skills. I decided I would have to get phoebe to ask him to teach me how to head bang and drum at the same time. Then they played it. The song that has cursed me ever since. Die For You. I couldn’t stand it. My hands went back over my ears and I started shaking. When it was over phoebe said goodbye to the guys and I just waved mainly to cc but the guys too before getting in the car to drive home. I stayed silent the whole way because I didn’t want to accidently say something bad about the concert that would hurt phoebes feelings. When we got home I went straight to bed. I knew I wasn’t going to sleep but I couldn’t do anything else at 6 o clock I decided I should get ready because if I didn’t do it now I wouldn’t do it at all. I got ready in my black jeans and pug shirt before packing all the rest of my stuff like my makeup and silently bringing it downstairs. I got my coffee and toast before loading the car with my bags. Then I noticed that Phoebe had left her already packed bags by the door *BEEP BEEP* I heard her alarm and she screamed something before rushing down as I was putting the last of her bags in the car. I then realised what I had done “Come on lets go” phoebe did not stop fidgeting for the entire journey and it was pissing me off so I tapped my fingers on the wheel hoping she would catch on but she didn’t. We pulled up and I saw Andy was outside the bus smoking and he waved at us. “hey girls” we got as the rest of the guys jumped out of the bus and started pulling bags out of the car. “I can…” I started before realising no one was listening to me ‘see no one cares if you are here or not’ I really don’t need this today. We got settled in our bunks. Phoebe was obviously opposite Andy and mine was below cc. I still wasn’t happy. I needed some form of escape from my mind
3 hours later
“hey Yo Colette you’re 18 right, well you are coming drinking with us” shouted Ashley “Oh ok yeah why not” “cool jinx you ask phoebe and Andy then we can go” shouted cc getting all hyper again and then following him jinx came back 10 minutes later still being followed by a hyper cc and said that phoebe was only 17 so couldn’t come and Andy had said something about Juliet. We walked down to the local bar and by the time the guys had only their second I was on my fifth. “Wow Colette slow down we got all night babe” cc shouted over the music “Oh yeah sorry I just really needed this” “I know the feeling” “cc while I still have the confidence to ask you because of this amazing drink I was wondering if maybe right cus listen up right I already play the drums right but I was think that cus you are super doper lights are gonna find you wee anyway cus you are good I was wondering if you could teach me how to drum AND head bang cus I think that would be super doper” “ok sure and you sound really drunk already” “ok honey this ain’t drunk give me an hour an then sir you will see drunk” I giggled at him slightly tossing some whiskey over his legs as I leant in to a massive giggling fit “are you alrigmpp” “SSSHHHH” I whispered with my hand over his mouth “do you hear that?” he shook his head questiongly “the voices stop when I drink I am sooo doing this more often” I said releasing his mouth “come on lets go dance” I squealed pulling him onto the dance floor.
Andy’s pov
“Wow that really was amazing phoebe, I think you sung that better than me” I said walking towards her to take the seat next to her. She looked up and gave me one on the most genuine smiles I have seen “Thank you, but how come you are not out with the guys and Colette drinking” she asked me putting the guitar on the floor. “ohhh my girlfriend Juliet didn’t want me drinking on the first night of tour she thinks I’m going to cheat on her” I say “Right I see, she sounds a bit controlling if you don’t mind me saying” she replies looking away from me “she can be but I love her” “so do you want a beer” she asked me grabbing two from the fridge “Yeah aren’t you too young to be drinking” I teased her “yeah but only by two weeks I use to drink all the time with my ex” she replied but now she seemed to be upset I wonder what happened with her ex.
Phoebe’s pov
A couple beers later and I was feeling great for once I wasn’t drinking to forget whatever Joey was going to do to me it was because I was hanging out with someone I really like “So you don’t have to tell me but what happened with you and your ex” Andy asked he seemed genuinely concerned “Look if I tell you, you promise not to make a big deal out of it” “Promise” he said giving me a big grin. God I swear his smile will be the death of me it’s so freakin cute. “Well it all started when I was 14 and I started to date joey, he was 18 at this point and very kind to me and treated me like a princess, after a while he started to get aggressive and he would beat me on a daily basses during the two years before my 16 birthday he would go between being the most wonderful person to the worst.” I could feel Andy lean closer to me as he rubbed my back to show me he was listening and that he was there for me “On my 16 birthday both my parents were working so I invited Joey round as he said he was going to make me a birthday breakfast. The start of the morning was perfect he made me breakfast and we watch movies, after a while things got quite heated between us but I didn’t want to go all the way just because I could now, but Joey wasn’t having it so…so h-he raped me” I burst into tears leaning my head onto Andy chest as he held me tight and said soothing things to me as I was about to admit to him about what happened with the accident and self-harm and shit, the bus door flung open and in came a very drunk Colette and cc “HEY GUYS WHATS UP” shouted cc looking way to happy but Colette just leaned against him looking very embarrassed.
