Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Chapter 53

Andy's POV
The room seemed to rock below me. For a Second I thought that the entire building was about to topple over. Then I realized that it wasn't the building coming down, it was me. My anger was so intense that I couldn't see straight. Leaving me feeling like the world was shifting around me. It took me a moment to realize that I was being spoken to.
"Andy? Are you okay? Andy?" Rob said. To be honest I was not okay. I was infuriated. They had kept us here against our will, to keep us from danger, so they claim, and now we are in danger because we were still there. I didn't say that though. I held up a single finger to silence him so that I could have a moment to sort myself out. I took a deep breath and held it for a second before letting it out. I was trying to loosen my jaw so I could speak, I tried to focus my eyes so I could see Rob's face. I wanted to say something, but my body wanted to yell it. I wanted to go insane. I wanted to kill Rob, and destroy this island for keeping us here. I wanted to make Jinxx cause a massive wave to swallow up the entire island while we stayed safe in an air bubble. For a moment I wished death on every single person who had a hand in getting and keeping us on this island. I couldn't do that though, I needed to think logically, I needed to remember that we'd agreed to be here and true to their word they'd been keeping us safe and comfortable. I told myself that I'd put all of this rage into snapping Brakiens' neck as soon as I could get to him.
"How long until he gets here?" I managed to say. My voice sounded tense and ragged, like it was forcing back the snarls that wanted to show up in its place.
"We estimate about three hours," Rob confirmed. That was longer than I had hoped for.
"Do we have a plan of action?" I said, the roar in my head was starting to calm at the thought of planning something out.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about. We imagine that Braikens will come with guns blazing to kill you. Remember that his men think that what he is doing is authorized. They have been essentially brainwashed to believe that you are bloodthirsty killers, and will kill them if they don't kill you first. We want to put you and your pack in the deepest part of our facility while we fight them off," Rob explained.
"How many do they have?" I asked, revenge still burning in me.
"From what we understand, they have about twenty well trained soldiers who have been told to kill anything that moves on sight,"
"You put your people underground, and our girls as well. This is our fight. We won't kill anyone but Braikens. Everyone else, we will subdue until it can be explained to them what has gone on," I explained.
"Andy, it would be unforgivable if we let one of you get hurt or killed in a fight that we should have been better controlling," Rob protested.
"No, this is us, we must prove to people that we are strong and can handle ourselves. We can organize ourselves to become quite deadly and functional if need be. Now that need is here. We also need to prove, that although we can kill without difficulty we are also not going to kill without reason. I will make sure that no one but Braikens is killed. We will heal all he ones that we injure, and that's final," I said.
"Alright, we'll put your plan into action, go tell your people and I'll tell mine. We shouldn't be underground for more than a few hours, lets get this done," Rob said. We stood and shook hands, I left without waiting for Johnnie to guide me. In the elevator he stared at me.
"What?" I asked as me moved downward painfully slowly.
"I thought you were going to murder Rob in there, how were you still human?" Johnnie asked, fascination clear on his face.
"I don't know, perhaps I realized subconsciously that going wolf right then would have hindered my ability to make that plan," I said.
"Makes sense to me," John replied as we exited the elevator. There were already announcements going over the intercoms telling people where to go. People were running around gathering last minute things and preparing to go underground. They stole glances at me, some nodded knowingly others gave a grimace of approval. We exited out of the building. There was a storm brewing. The air smelled of rain and the wind swirled. The clouds boiled, and rolled with thunder. That dark foreboding feeling right before the heavens release hell hung in the air. The clouds hung low, and thick over the island, like an oppressive king standing over a prisoner with an ax, I could feel electricity in the air.
"I'm coming with you to the house to bring your girls where we're going," Johnnie said, I nodded and we took off down the path to the house. I burst in the front door where everyone was up in second, sensing my urgency. I quickly explained the situation, feeling the same intensity from the weather come into everyone in the room.
"Girls, and Mr. Peterson, go with Johnnie. He's going to take you someplace safe,"
"Andy no, we can't just sit around and wait while you go and get yourselves killed," Juliet said, tugging on my shirt.
"Babe, no I won't be able to focus if your out here somewhere that I think that you could get hurt. I'll be distracted then I will get killed," I told her.
"What about me? Huh? I'm not going to let myself be put away like I'm weak, I'm going to help," Mr. Peterson said. I regarded him for a moment, he appeared about half my size and twice my age. I wanted to say no, but I could sense that he wanted to help us. As a s sort of apology for getting us here in the first place.
"I may not look like much but I've got a brain. I can disassemble their technology and hinder them useless," Mr. Peterson insisted.
"Fine, but just try not to get yourself killed," I said, and that was that. There were kisses, hugs and "Be careful"s and the girls were gone.
"We have two hours, I want everyone as intimidating looking as they can be, try and get yourselves looking invincible," I ordered. Things were set in motion from there, it was pretty obvious what everyone was going to do. The bands war paint was being applied in seconds. Someone even pitied Mr. Peterson and gave him some eye black. Hair was spiked and teased to make us look larger. Sounds dumb, be we're part animal and in the animal kingdom that matters. With fifteen minutes until the expected time of arrival of enemies we were hauling ourselves out into the weather in leather and war paint. Chains and spikes everywhere we looked intimidating to say the least.
The air was even heavier than before outside, and the thunder was coming more often. We stood with our backs together in a circle in the middle of the island. We watched out over the skies, unsure of where out enemy would be coming from. I began to hear a sound. It started as what I believed was thunder. Then I realized that it was the chopping of the air under the blades of several incoming helicopters.
