Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Chapter 52

Andy's POV
"You might be in great danger," Johnnie said as we walked. I stopped.
"Are you telling me that you are leading me to something that's going to try and kill me," I said, grabbing him by the arm and halting his progress.
"No, no, I promise that's not what this is. I'm taking you to a meeting so that they can inform you about something that could be a great danger to you and the rest of your pack," Johnnie said, I held onto him and tried to detect any bit of deception in his emotions. I couldn't find any.
"Johnnie, if your lying to me, you will be the first person who's head I tear off," I said, I felt his emotions dive into fear.
"I swear, as far as I know nothing is going to happen to you," He said, he was starting to tremble. I held onto him for a second longer, glaring for an intimidation factor. Then I let him go. We kept walking, I trusted him, mostly because he hadn't lied to me yet, and at the very least, if he was lying to me he didn't know that he was. I decided that if they did try to kill me I wouldn't kill Johnnie, I'd spare him and take him back with me.
We entered into the office building, the cool air from the air conditioning engulfed us, a harsh difference from the heat of the day. I was tense to say the least. I was really prepared for someone to jump out from a corner and try to gut me. I thought that the sugar from the pancakes was going to make it impossible for me to focus. In reality it was making me hypersensitive to everything that was around me. I could smell everyone's distinct scents, and feel all of their eyes on me. I could hear them whispering back and forth about what I'd done when Jane had been forceful with us. The stories where being blown out of proportion. Some were saying that I'd hit her, some where saying that I'd turned into a wolf and tried to attack her. Long story short I could also sense that they were all afraid of me. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't want anyone to fear me. In this situation though, I welcomed the apprehension. It meant that they wouldn't mess with me. Or so I hoped. It could also mean that they thought that I was a threat and they needed to get rid of me.
Johnnie led me across the room to an elevator. We stepped inside of an elevator and Johnnie pressed the button to the top floor. Even the feeling of the elevator moving was more prevalent than it usually was. I didn't know how tall the building was, but it was quite tall. The elevator doors opened into one large conference room that must have been the entire floor. It was surrounded by windows that gave a stunning view of the surrounding ocean. The was a round conference table in the middle of the room. Clearly it could have held many chairs, but at the time that I was there, there were only two chairs. One was empty, and I assumed that it was for me.
The other chair contained an older man who was on larger side. He was in his late fifties, he was wearing a nice blue suit and his white hair was combed to the side to try and cover up a bald spot.
"Hello, Andy," He said, cheerfully as I entered. He didn't sound like he was about to tell me about my possible impending doom.
"Hi," I said, unsure of what to say, I'd never been in any sort of situation like that before.
"Please, take a seat," He said, gesturing to the empty chair in front of him. I sat, and I was momentarily distracted by the fact that the chair had wheels, and then I had to pull myself back together and act my age.
"Nice to finally meet you Andy, you can call me Rob," He said reaching out a hand across the table for me to shake, I shook it. Johnnie was sitting in another chair that was right next to the doorway to the room.
"How ya doing, Rob?" I asked, deciding not to avoid the pleasantries.
"I'm doing quite well. Allow me to really introduce my self, I am the head of the activities on this island. I flew in with your friend Sandra after a little vacation I had, I don't believe I ever actually introduced myself to her. I think I just interrupted her breakfast and confused her even more," Rob said, he had a genuine smile.
"She told me about you," I said, recalling our first night on the island when we had all been talking, Sandra told me about the weird guy on the plane who caught her stuffing her face full of pancakes.
"Of course, it was rude of me not to tell her who I was. Now I assume you know that I have a reason for bringing you here by yourself," Rob said, getting right down to business.
"Johnnie tells me it's got something to with something that may cause me to die at sometime soon," I said.
"You know about the man, Braikens who brought Ashley here, do you not?" Rob said. I felt my temper flare at the mention of his name.
"Yes I know about him, the guy who wants to kill us because he thinks we're demons," I said, my voice already starting to get harsher.
"Well, he's discovered that we have you here, and he's on his way back from the mainland to finish what he started with Ashley,"

Notes

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think, this story is in fact coming to a close after all of this time. I would guess less than 5 chapters left, but it could be more depending on how much time I have left to write. I will do another story when this one is done, if you all want it of course. Anyway, see you next week. Tell me what you think is going to happen.
