Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Chapter 50

Ivy's POV
My father, a rather diminutive man over all. He was shorter than me, maybe he'd be taller if he ever stood up straight. He often shook like a chihuahua from the slightest amount of any sort of emotion. He had a slight stutter that seemed to go along right with his tremble. making him not at all very intimidating when he got into an argument with someone. He was skinny, and slightly balding with wire rimmed glasses perched far back on his nose. A nose that was usually red from some sort of cold that he had. His immune system was about as diminutive as he was. He was though, an incredibly smart man. His thoughts led to the over thoughts that lead him to believe seemingly insane things. Such as, for example, that there are massive wolves living in the woods. In that case he was right. Unfortunately it was an obsession that left him without his wife, my mother, and just me to raise all by himself. I loved him so much. Being the only parent that I could ever really remember having, I'd always looked up to his intelligence and reasoning abilities. He was one of the best parents I could ever ask for, extremely overprotective like most dads. Always supportive, and we had great conversations because I guess I was born with my mother's looks and my father's brains.
When I saw him appear trembling at the door in Andy's shadow at first I was incredibly confused, about how and when he'd gotten there, and what was going to happen. Then I decided I'd answer those questions later I was overjoyed to see him. When he pointed a finger at Andy and accused him of kidnapping me I knew I had to stop it before Andy bit back. I leaped up out of, a very confused Ashley's arms and bolted to the door. I ducked under Andy's arm that was holding the door open and bear hugged my dad. I nearly knocked him over.
"Dad! I missed you so much!" I yelled, squeezing him tightly. I felt so much better with him there. He pushed me away and held me at arms length.
"Are you okay? They haven't hurt you at all have they?" He said, looking me up and down quickly.
"No dad I'm fine, in fact I've made some friends," I said.
"Friends?"
"Yes, Dad. This is Andy, he's become quite a good friend," I said gesturing to Andy who was still standing in the doorway still not moving, clearly at a loss of how to act. I guessed that he was at an decision of either ripping my dad's head off for what he did, or being nice for my sake.
"Is he not the one that took you at gun point?" My dad said, his eyes shifting nervously to Andy.
"Yes, but not at gun point, and it was a misunderstanding and I've forgiven him for it,"
"I'd guess you and I are about even. I took you're daughter, you took the second in command in my pack, it's only fair," Andy butted in with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. My dad seemed to shrink back at the unexpected deep tones of Andy's voice.
"Your pack," My dad said, his voice quieter than usual.
"Yes, my pack," Andy said.
"So it is true? There was a pack of werewolves living in my back yard," My dad said seeming to get excited about it again, his inner nerd, and hunger for research and answered questions was starting to show through.
"Yes, well kind of, we were not living, just hunting," He said, regarding my father with some sort of the same kind of curiosity.
"Dad do you want to come in?" I said, realizing that the entire conversation had taken place in the open doorway. He nodded and Andy stepped aside and allowed for entry, before closing the door behind us. The rest of the pack had awoken and stood up during the duration of the past conversation. The awkward silence that began when my father entered the room was so thick that you could have cut it with a knife. I was awaiting for someone to start yelling at him or something, but no. It was just a completely quiet staring contest. Finally it was broken when my father made eye contact with Ashley.
"I am so sorry for everything I put you through. They explained for the most part to me what happened to you, while I was on the plane ride over. I had no idea when I sold you to those guys that they were gonna abuse you like that," My dad said. He stared at the ground for a moment. I saw Ash take a few steps to close the distance between them. He raised a hand and at first I thought that he was going to punch my dad in the face. Then the hand landed gently on his shoulder with a somewhat brotherly slap of comfort.
"It's okay, I forgive you. I'm sorry that we took your daughter and caused you so much trouble and worry," Ash said with genuine forgiveness. There was a collective sigh of relief, there was not yet a fight. Yet.
"I do have one request though, if you would humor me," Ashley said. He looked up from my father and made eye contact with me. My stomach hit the floor. I knew this conversation was inevitably going to happen, but I didn't want it to happen now.
"Sure, anything, what do you need?" My dad said. I didn't think he'd be so willing when he heard what the request was.
"Your daughter is the most beautiful person I have ever had the honor of meeting in my entire life. I would love if I would get your permission to call her my girlfriend,"
