Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Chapter 15

Andy's POV
I sighed as yet another one of my calls went to voicemail, I snapped my phone shut, leaving the same message over and over wouldn't help. That had been the fifth time today that I'd called Ashley and he didn't respond.
"Voicemail again?" Juliette asked. I nodded running my hand through my hair. It had been a three days since Ashley left my house after he and I had had our little... incident. Three days since anyone in the band had heard anything from him. Not a text, tweet, phone call, or selfie, that was weird for him. At first I thought that he was just ignoring us because he was still mad or embarrassed about my beating him. Now we were getting concerned, it wasn't like him to hold a grudge that long. Juliette sighed.
"Well you have to go check on him. For all we know he fell down the stairs and is paralyzed from the neck down just starving and waiting for you to come save him," Juliette said.
"Lovely," I said. I didn't really want to go because if he was still mad at me I didn't want another confrontation.
" If he's still mad at you then you should go make amends. He's your best friend," She said, I swore that sometimes she could read my mind.
"I know," I sighed standing. We said our I love you's and gave our kisses and I was out the door to Ashley's
The car ride seemed quicker than it should have been. On the drive there I realized that it wasn't the fact that I didn't want to see Ash making me not want to go. Call it a pack intuition but I just had this feeling that something was very wrong. My gut was telling me that for my own safety I should stay away. When I got to the house I had to force myself out of the car, something was very wrong. I made myself walk up the path to the front door. The dogs weren't jumping and yipping at the windows like usual. I knocked on the door, no answer. I knocked louder, still no answer. I tried the door it swung open with no resistance. When I saw what was inside I gasped.
The place looked ransacked. Things were broken and overturned. I took a step inside, stepping over papers and trash that were strewn about the room. I took another step closing the door behind me, everything was either broken or misplaced, usually both. A picture frame lay on the floor empty. Somehow I knew exactly what picture had been there. It was a photo of the whole pack, the girlfriends and Sandra too. I felt sick.
"Ash?" I called. The House seemed to swallow my voice in it's cold, vast, emptiness. Then I realized something, the dogs.
"Killer? Tokyo? You two in here?" I called, I even whistled to them but the didn't come. Usually they would greet me at the door, I checked and the food and water bowls appeared to still be full and untouched. It was as if every living thing in the house had just disappeared. I was confused. I made my way to the kitchen, still searching for any sign that Ash had done this and then run off with his dogs. Then I noticed his phone sitting on the table. I checked it, like any good friend I knew the password. All of our calls and texts hadn't even been looked at yet. Suddenly a thought occurred to me. It appeared that Ash was gone, the dogs were gone, I wonder...
I left through his sliding glass back door and began to make my way to the barn. The sun was beginning to sink behind the treelined horizon. They always say that curiosity killed the cat. For my sake I guessed that it was good that I was part dog. Maybe curiosity wouldn't get me. I reached the barn and had to use my entire body weight to push the door open. Inside seemed too quiet, no snuffling, or shuffling that one should hear in a barn filled with animals. I checked from stall to stall every single one empty. This was getting too weird for me. People and animals don't just disappear. My instincts were screaming at me to just leave and come back later with help.
So I decided to listen. I trudged my way back to the house to take the shortcut back through when I saw something that made me freeze. The back door was open. Who ever destroyed the house and took Ash and the animals might be in there trying to do more damage. I got angry. I was up the patio and into the house within three silent seconds of movement. When I turned into the living room I saw a figure standing in the middle of the room. Guilt lept off of them like lightning bolts. They hadn't seen me yet. My anger built whoever this was knew what had happened to Ashley. I flashed across the room and within seconds I had the figure pinned to the wall. It struggled weakly, no match for my strength. My eyes adjusted to the dim light and my eyes tried focused on the face of the person that I had against a wall. I realized just how small this person was, it hadn't occurred to me that I might have been throwing around a girl. My eyes finally were able to make sense in the dim light. Sure enough it was a tiny girl. Her feelings of guilt were now mixed pure terror.
"Who are you?" I yelled at her, " What are you doing in this house?"
"I could ask you the same questions," She snapped back.
"No you couldn't my friend lives here, I'm allowed to be here,"
"Let go of me," She yelled.
"Where is Ashley?" I yelled louder, trying to make myself look even bigger. I was trying to scare her into spilling what she knew.
"I don't know," She whimpered. I knew she was lying, she was close to tears.
"Tell. Me. Where. He. Is," I said lowering my voice to an intense whisper, because a lot of times that can be a whole lot scarier.
"I don't know where they took him," She sobbed. Suddenly she looked over my shoulder and her fear grew. Not fear of me, something behind me. I was about to turn and look when suddenly there was a loud bang. A third of a second later a bullet grazed my ear.
