Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Chapter 12

Sandra's POV
When I first woke up I'd completely forgotten where I was. First I thought I was home, then I thought I was still on tour, then I remembered. I was on a government plane flying to some unknown location. I decided that I needed some answers, so I rolled out of the bunk and quickly got dressed. As soon as I got into the main lounge of the plane, I decided that at the moment food was more important than answers. As there was a buffet table loaded with breakfast foods. Pancakes (of all flavors), fruits, juice, bacon, ham, eggs, syrup, hash browns, the smells reminded me that I hadn't eaten since lunch the day before. So without asking for permission I grabbed a plate, and got as much as I thought I could handle. I sat at one of the tables along the side of the plane, and dug in. Everything tasted twice as better as it looked. I was halfway through a stack of four double-chocolate pancakes when I remembered to breathe.
I went back to my food only to hear someone sit in the seat in front of me. I looked up quickly, surprised to see someone that I hadn't met yet. He was perhaps in his mid-sixties. Wearing a suit, with is grey hair combed back. He was eating nothing for breakfast but a coffee. Then I realized how incredibly immature I must have looked, stuffing my face with food. Wearing a backwards baseball cap, a tank top and skinny jeans, I was suddenly embarrassed at myself. To my surprise instead of being disgusted, the man smiled at me.
" Enjoying the food?" He asked. I could only nod, unless that is, I wanted to attempt speaking and then spew food at him. He handed me a napkin, which I used gratefully, after realizing that I had forgotten one, and I had enough food on my face to make a two-year-old proud.
"I'd bet you have a lot of questions," he said, I nodded again, still trying to swallow.
"Don't worry, all of your questions will be answered after we get you settled on the island,"
"Island?" I questioned finally able to get a word through. He gestured to the window and sure enough we were over the ocean, far off in the distance I could see a speck of land that was gradually getting bigger. I soon realised that it was not very big at all, and we'd be landing quite soon
******************************************************************************************************
I said thought that the island was small, and I was right. If you stood on the beach on one side you could see all the way to where the grass turned into beach on the other side. There were three buildings on the island. One was an airport, one was a beach house, the other appeared to be a rather boring and grey office building. Other than that the island was a plain, flat, oblong, chunk of land with sand on the sides, grass in the middle, and a few palm trees scattered around the center. I decided that it would be a nice place for a vacation.
Jerome lead me down a stretch of gravel road, with my bags in our hands. At first I thought that he was taking me to the office building, then we passed it and continued on to the beach house.
"Wait a minute, am I staying here?" I asked shocked.
"Well you are our guest of honor, and we want you to be as comfortable as possible," Jerome replied as if this all was common sense.
"That place is huge, I shouldn't be staying there all alone. What all is in there," I said, after we had gotten closer and I figured out that this beach house was more like a mansion.
"Four bedrooms, a living room with video games and TV, library, five bathrooms with jacuzzis, a kitchen, not that you'll need it, we'll bring any food that you want to you. Indoor pool, arcade, workout room, and the back door leads straight out into the ocean, where there is a roped off section that you can swim in," Jerome rambled. I stopped and stared at him.
"Problem?" he asked.
"I get to stay here, free of charge?"
"Yes,"
"This is too much, I don't need a house that big all to myself,"
"Well if things go well you won't be here long. Or at least you won't be in this house alone for long," We continued walking, falling silent. I got my bags inside the door and Jerome turned around and lead me back out.
"You can get settled when we get back, but now we need to get some of our questions out of the way,"
We entered the office building after the short walk back. The inside was just as boring as the outside. A woman at the front desk smiled at Jerome and I as we got into the elevator and began the ride to the fourth floor. On that floor there were hallways of small rooms with nothing but two chairs and a desk in them. Jerome put me in one of these, telling me that someone would soon be there to talk to me. Sure enough I'd only sat there for a few minutes when a lady walked in. She appeared to be in her thirties, and she looked like one of those really motherly African American women. I trusted as soon as she walked in.
"Hi Sandra - Can I call you Sandra?" she said as she was sitting down across the table from me. I nodded.
"Well Sandra, I'm sure that this has been very strange for you, and you know I have a lot of questions. First though, I want to know if you have any questions," She said, it seemed like she actually cared. My mind rushed with questions.
"Why is Black Veil Brides in trouble?" I said, she laughed.
"Oh sweetie they're not in trouble, we're just curious about them,"
"Okay, then where are we?,"
"Welcome to Ghost Island. The government facility of paranormal research,"
