The "High School Experience"

I can’t believe it.
It’s been 3 days and Andy hasn’t even attempted speaking to me.
No texts.
No calls.
No late night visits.
Not even a letter in the mail.
I’ve seen him pace around outside for a few minutes every day in front of his house but I think he’s just taunting me. My mother has supplied me with a lot of ice cream though and Ashby has come over as much as she can. Speaking of, she’s supposed to be here soon. The doorbell rings.
Speak of the devil.
I get up from my bed and hurry down the stairs to greet my best friend. I open the door to face her and she smiles towards me and steps in. Ashby embraces me in a tight hug and I rest my head on her shoulder.
“How are you?’ She mumbles.
“Better than yesterday. He still hasn’t tried talking to me though…” I trail off and she steps out of the hug.
“He’ll come around. I heard him talk whenever you were just two minutes late to lunch at school. Oh where’s Kirsten? Is she okay? I want to kiss her right now!” She imitates Andy’s deep voice and I crack a smile, the first one in days.
“Thanks Ashby, but there’s ice cream to eat.” I say and close the front door. She smiles once again and hurries to the kitchen. I follow after her as I hear the freezer open and close, Ashby already equipped with spoons and Mint Chip ice cream.
“Ok, you get the movies and I’ll set up in your room,” Ashby says and runs past me and hurries up the stairs. Ok then. I walk to our movie rack and pick up Mean Girls, Finding Nemo, and MCR: Life on the Murder Scene.
“Hurry up K!” Ashby yells and I jog over to the stairs.
“Coming Ash!” I yell back and begin running up the staircase and head to my room.
Ashby was set up, sitting in my bed, TV on, ice cream next to her with spoon in hand, and a blanket thrown across her legs. I throw her the movies, which she catches and take a seat on my bed next to the window.
“What first?” Ashby questions, holding up the movies.
“Mean Girls, duh” I say smiling, maybe today will be a start to a good summer. But probably not.
“Alright girly,” Ashby says and places the CD into the DVD player and the movie switches onto the screen. The movie begins and Ashby and I are taking mouthfuls of ice cream every minute. Eventually I get to a part of the movie I’m tired of watching. I look out the window as Ashby mouths along with the movie and see Andy sitting on the steps of his porch. A car pulls up and stops in front of him. I nudge Ashby.
“Check this out,” I say and point towards Andy’s house. A girl climbs out of the car and greets him. She puts her arm around his waist once he stands and he puts an arm on her shoulders. Andy smiles down at her as she leans up, and connects her lips with his. I take in a breath as the bastard kisses her back and smiles.
“That bastard,” I say as he walks into his house with her on his side. That should be me.
“Is he cheating on you?!” Ashby yells and gets up off the bed.
“Technically not but, Andy doesn’t move on quickly…” I trail off and look down to the floor. I let the curtain fall in front of my window as tears well up in my eyes.
“All I wanted…Was for him to t-tell the truth!” I scream and cover my face with my hands. How could he?
“Maybe he was…y’know cheating before this whole thing happened?” Ashby suggests, sadness in her eyes.
“I can’t even imagine him. He doesn’t seem like the type of person…” I say and cross my arms.
“Well you know what we’re going to do?” Ash says, a bit of evil edge in her voice.
“What?” I ask as I look up at my petite friend.
“We, well you are going to show him what he lost. That is going to start with a party.” Ashby smirks and places her hands on her hips.
