Chapter 9: Love Isn't Always Fair
CC's POV
I was alone for about an hour before Jake came home. I spent that time packing my backpack and still trying to find my clothes. I checked under both Ashley and Jake's bed, I looked in the giant closet Ashley claimed, I checked Jake's backpack and Ashley's luggage. My clothes were nowhere to be seen. I have enough clothes at home for touring, I'd just buy extra tee shirts and pants. I heard a loud knock at the door. I dashed to the door. Not my best idea, walking shirtless in Scotland. Most people here could stand the cold, being from L.A there isn't much that we could stand, the food wasn't one of those things that we couldn't stand. The food in Scotland, well some, was delicious. Anyway I was standing shirtless for a couple of minutes waiting for Jake. I felt like a child's father. "Now I expected you to be in the house five minutes ago, son." I thought to myself. I made a mental note to ask someone to get me a pair of pants, underwear, a tee shirt and socks. Jake was walking down the tiled path. He was taking it slow and easy. It took him a couple of minutes to get to the door. "Hey buddy." He greeted. "Hi J...J...J...Jake." I chattered. "Where is everybody?" He asked. "Out at lunch, I wanted to stay here with you." I replied trying to sound sweet. He leaned in for a hug. The woman that lived upstairs walked down the path quickly. "Please not at your front door, I don't want my children to be exposed to sinners." She exaggerated. I think Jake and I had the same plan, we each leaned in for a kiss. We began to make out in front of her and her kids. "Let's take this inside." Jake said playfully giving me a look of 'I want you.' Jake dragged me into the house by the arm. Once he'd closed the door we each burst into fits of laughter. "Did you see her face when we kissed?" Jake asked doing an impression. We stumbled into the lounge. "Horror movie?" Jake asked. "Yeah, I'll get the popcorn." I answered. While I was waiting on the popcorn I texted Ashley. My text read: "Hey, could you please stop at a shop and buy me a tee shirt, pants, boxers and socks?"
I emptied the popcorn into a bowl. I took the bowl through to the lounge and sat it on the coffee table. I then sat next to Jake. Jake lifted his arm closest to me to invite me to cuddle. I rested me head on his chest. "Oh CC, you're freezing." Jake edged his chin into my neck. "Jake, can I ask you something." I asked sitting up and facing him. "Yeah." He answered. "I think the guys are going to be packing tomorrow, so if we pack tonight, why don't we go to dinner and the movies tomorrow. All on me?" I asked bluntly. "Yeah, I'd like that." Jake smiled. I smiled back. "HERE'S JOHNNY!" the TV screamed. Jake and I went white and looked like we'd just seen a ghost. When we realised it was just the classic moment in The Shining, we were relieved. Jake and I started to snuggle into each other. Towards the end Jake began to get restless. "Jake why don't we go and pack?" I suggested. "Yeah, it'll keep me occupied." Jake answered. Jake extended a hand for me to hold onto. We held hands. "Jake I went through your backpack to see if I had accidentally put my clothes in your backpack, I have no clothes and I need some, Ashley's bringing me back clothes, I'll buy a shirt for our date tomorrow." I said as I sat on the bed. "Alright." He said leaning towards me. He kissed my cheek. I pouted at him. "Not before our first date." He chuckled. I helped Jake pack by collecting his toiletries. He was packed within about ten minutes. "Metallica Some Kind Of Monster?" Jake asked. "Awesome." I answered enthusiastically. I happily skipped through to the lounge. I jumped onto the couch. We'd accidentally forgot to turn off the Xbox. Jake casually walked through holding Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster. Jake put the disc in the Xbox, grabbed his connected COD controller and sat next to me.
Jake's POV
I was surprised to see CC home, after all it was company. I knew that Ashley, Andy, Juliet, Jinxx and Sammi were going out, I didn't know when. CC was freezing but so nice and considerate. CC and I began to watch The Shining when he asked me out on a date tomorrow night, before we leave for home. He's so sweet. He helped me pack my backpack after confessing to looking through my stuff for his clothes, I didn't mind, I didn't want him to be freezing. CC and I watched Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster. CC invited me to cuddle into him. I couldn't say no, HAVE YOU SEEN HIM? They way he's so crazy but caring, funny and sweet, outgoing but loving. No wonder I loved him. It's something I couldn't deny, if you can't deny it, embrace it. I LOVE CHRISTIAN COMA, GET OVER IT! CC was still cold. "Jakey I'm tired." CC pouted looking at me. I stood up so he could lay down. Once he was comfortable he looked at me and extended his arms signalling me to go and cuddle with him. I couldn't decline, it was impossible to decline anything when you're madly in love with them. CC and I drifted to sleep. We were cuddling each other. CC had his back against the back of the couch, his left arm was under my body and his right arm was over me. My head rested on CC's shoulder, my body was pressed up against his. Our legs intertwined with each other. We lay like this until Ashley, Jinxx, Sammi, Juliet and Andy came back. I could hear CC groan a couple of times before he rolled me off his arms, I fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. "JAKE!" CC shouted. Ashley extended a hand helping me up. "I'm so sorry Jake." CC apologised. "It's alright, I'm okay." I replied. CC wanted to apologise even though I'd forgiven him. He walked towards me and wrapped his arms around me. I wrapped my arms around him. I looked up at him. He leaned down and his lips met mine. "PG, SHEILD MY EYES, IT BURNS!" Jinxx screamed sinking to the floor. I was startled. CC began to laugh. "Jinxx get off the floor." Sammi shot him a look of, "you're a child." Jinxx got off the ground. "I'm a good boy mommy." Jinxx pouted. Sammi grabbed the Kerrang! Magazine and hit Jinxx over the head with it. "Movie anybody?" Andy asked. "Yeah, horror?" CC asked still hugging me. "I'm going to 'read' my magazines." Ashley commented. We all knew what he was going to do. Jinxx picked out a horror film. "I'm going to go smoke a cigarette, please don't start without me." Andy pleaded leaving to go outside.
CC's POV
"Ashley, did you pick up some clothes for me?" I asked. "Ah shit, I knew I had to do something. I'm so sorry CC." Ashley cursed. "Could you take me shopping tomorrow please?" I asked. "Yes, yes, it's the least I can do." Ashley replied. It was settled, I needed to borrow someone's tee shirt to go shopping. I sat down on the couch waiting for Andy to come back in, so we could watch the film. Jake stood in front of me. Jake pulled me up and held me close. He leaned towards me. He met me with his lips. We stood kissing each other for a few moments. "CC we didn't tell anybody about the woman upstairs." Jake chuckled. "Dibs." I called. "Okay, wait for Andy." Jake smiled. Everybody stopped what they were doing and sat down around me. Andy walked in. "Baby." Juliet motioned for Andy to sit down. "It was when Jake came back, I was looking for my clothes, that I've lost. There was a knock at the door. Standing at the door was the driver of the car Jake gets out of. He made sure I was home before driving off in his car. Jake and I exchanged some words before hugging each other, the woman from upstairs walked towards us with her kids on front of her. She's a strict Christian, being gay is a sin, so she shared her belief with us. Just to piss her off Jake and I made out with each other before Jake said "Let's take this inside." He sounded so seductive. It was hilarious it was her face." Everybody was chuckling at the story before I pointed at Jake to do his impression. The house became a pit of laughter. After laughing for about five minutes, we all went back to getting comfortable and ready to watch a horror movie, or in Ashley's case he went back to 'reading' his magazines. Juliet cuddled into Andy at one end of the couch, at the other end Jinxx and Sammi cuddled together. Jake awkwardly sat in between the couples. I pulled up a chair and sat behind Jake. Ashley left before the movie started, either because he couldn't see or he felt awkward. Three quarters of the way through the movie, I began to get agitated, I couldn't help but think about Jake, our date and Ashley and I going shopping. Where would I take him, that's close to the movies? Do I have enough money for dinner and a movie? I was nervous, I didn't know why, I know Jake and I have done for a couple years, I could treat it as two friends hanging out. Jake was more than just a friend, Jake made my insides flip every time he spoke to me or touched me, Jake was the love of my life, Jake was just as crazy as me, Jake was original, he was sweet, caring and kind- hearted. I came back to reality at the end of the movie. I missed the end of the movie. "CC you look like a zombie." Jake said sitting on my lap. "If I manage to get Ashley out our room, lap dance?" I whispered in his ear. "CC you're exhausted, no." Jake said. "Maybe tomorrow night." Jake gave me a devilish smile. He stood up a grabbed my arm. "Am I getting a treat?" I asked seductively. "No." Jake shook his head. I pouted at him looking like I was tearing up. "Get up, you're acting like a kid." Jake said pulling me off the chair. He dragged me through the room. "You're a tease." I said pushing Jake onto the bed. "Erm, CC?" Ashley asked letting his presence be known. "I'm going to go to bed." I mumbled hanging my head in embarrassment. Jake seemed relieved that I'd decided to go to bed. "So, who am I sharing with?" I asked exhausted. Jake looked at Ashley. "You're the couple." Ashley pointed out. "I don't generally sleep with my date before the first date." Jake sighed. "Fine, I'll swap beds." Ashley seemed a bit annoyed. I lay on Ashley's bed as he and Jake left the room. Jinxx walked in as Jake and Ashley walked out. "CC, I saw you were off focus towards the end of the movie, everything okay?" He asked walking towards me. "I'm fine, just a little nervous about my date with Jake." I answered. "Everything okay, or would you like to talk?" Jinxx asked. "I'm fine, thanks Jinxx." I smiled. Jinxx then left the room. I finally drifted off to sleep.
Jake's POV
The next morning I woke up shocked to see Ashley's face. I hadn't realised that Ashley had taken up half the bed and I fell out. Third time in two days. I grabbed a blanket and went to sleep on the couch. I was exhausted, I had very little memory of anything and had now hurt me head and got whiplash. I could remember that CC lost his clothes, is going shopping with Ashley today for clothes for our date. I'm pretty sure everybody was against allowing me to sleep, I could hear snoring, groaning and some moaning. I grabbed the blanket and walked back through to my room. CC had space in his bed. "CC I'm tired, bed less and hurting, can I sleep with you?" I whispered in his ear. I didn't look up, until it was too late. CC's hand clobbered me in the face. I staggered backwards a little. I gave in and watched TV until Ashley and CC staggered through. "CC wear my tee shirt until you buy one." i insisted before, I jumped up and flew into bed. I was exhausted and could finally sleep, in peace.
CC's POV
I woke up around 9am. Ashley woke up around the same time and decided to grab a coffee before hitting the streets of Edinburgh shopping. When we walked through to the lounge, Jake was sitting on the couch watching some crap on TV, he looked like a zombie. He insisted I wear his tee shirt until I bought one. He ran through the room into bed. I'm guessing Ashley kicked him out of the bed, and I slapped him in the head, accidentally, I do that a lot. Around 10:30am Ashley and I were ready to leave to go shopping. We stopped at Walmart, classy, and then we found our way up to Pulp Edinburgh. Altogether I bought a pair of black, loose fitting jeans, a plain black shirt, a black vest and a black tie from Walmart, I bought an Avenged Sevenfold 'Organ Donor' tee shirt and a Green Day Basket Case hoodie from Pulp. Ashley decided he wanted to look in a few shops before we went home. We arrived home about 3pm. I looked like a piece of shit. I jumped in the shower and then got dressed. I wore my newly bought black jeans, my black shirt, my black vest, my black tie and my black hi- tops. At about 4:30pm Jake came out of the room...
