An Unexpected Love

Avery sighed heavily as she let CC pull her off towards his condo door, Wednesday trotting a long behind them happily. What was she doing? She was just supposed to drop off Britt’s things, get in her car, go home and crash on the couch. Now she was following behind one of the most gorgeous guys she’d ever seen and Avery could feel her resolve melting like ice cream on a hot day. Her skinny jean clad legs were getting tired and she was thankful to see that they had approached a black door and that CC was digging around in his pockets for a key. Taking this moment by the balls-Avery spent a good three minutes checking out CC and she liked what she saw.

His skinny legs, long and clad in a black pair of jeans, ended in a tight little butt that Avery was dying to squeeze or even just pat gently. His skinny torso was covered in a faded Harley t-shirt and his black hair, long and hanging down his back, was capped by a knit hat with a small brim. As he jiggled the key in the lock, Avery felt her heart beat grow faster and faster as she thought over her options.

Option One-get inside, play some video games, kick some ass and then go home.

Option Two-get inside, throw sexy as sin drummer on to nearest couch and or loveseat and kiss him for all he was worth.

Option Three-run the fuck away and never look back.

Option Three was out-obviously-but that was mostly because Avery was tired and hated running…even to get away from someone who was currently testing her self control. Option Two made her smirk, her lip ring rubbing against her teeth and she could feel herself growing hot from just thinking of the possibilities. Option One-while boring, did seem like the best solution as it would lead them to get to know one another a little bit, get her foot in the door, but then she had an out once she beat this kid and could then head home and have another date…with her pillow.

It’s not that Avery didn’t want to jump on CC like a monkey and never let go-she did…more than was normal. But the thing was she had felt like this about someone-a few someones in fact- and all it had gotten her was a few bad tattoos and a broken heart that was still on the mend. Band guys-her favorite-came with a lot of shit and that shit usually consisted of big breasted women who loved to throw themselves around.

Avery had heard and seen everything that could make a normal person give up on love, but still she kept going back and back. Her last relationship, which had been with a certain guitarist of a certain pop punk band that had left her feeling at her All Time Low, was a disaster and had been two years too long.

There was something about CC though and it was bugging Avery that she couldn’t seem to put her finger on it. Here was this guy-huge rockstar who had women throwing themselves at him constantly-and yet he was looking at her with the sweetest look in his puppy dog brown eyes. Avery smiled as he held the door open for her and her smile grew as she walked into his condo and looked around.

The furniture was simple-black and red leather, but it looked lived in which Avery liked. There was a fireplace against one wall, a television sitting over the fireplace and Avery could just make out a pool table off in the distance, sitting where a dining room table would normally be.

This was a typical bachelor pad and yet it just seemed so CC.


“Make yourself at home and feel free to let Wednesday off her leash…not worried about anything getting broken.” CC said as he passed her, his fingers trailing across one of her bare arms and Avery felt herself shiver. He walked into the kitchen and she could hear him riffling around in the fridge for something.

“Thanks-you have a really nice place here CC.” She said as she bent down and unhooked the pug from her restraint. Wednesday pranced around, her curly tail in the air as she sniffed at something and moved on. As Avery stood up straight, her blonde hair falling in her face, she noticed that CC was back in front of her, staring with two beers in his hands.

“Thanks-wish I was here more though. This was the first thing I bought with my check from Wretched and Divine, but I’ve only been here a few weeks total.” He said as he handed her a beer, already opened and then held out his hand for her to sit on the couch.

“That must really suck-I love being home and couldn’t imagine being elsewhere. What are you guys doing next?” Avery asked as she sipped at her beer. It was a lighter beer, something that shocked her as she expected CC to go for the rougher stuff.

“Yeah, we’re off for a little bit-maybe a month and then it’s back out on the road. Which game do you want to play?” He asked and Avery only smirked at him as she set her beer down on the coffee table and got up to look at her options.


CC had quite a collection and the way he had everything set up was a players dream.

Beside the fireplace were shelves and on every shelf sat a gaming system with the appropriate games. The wires were neatly twined together to make it easy to hook everything up and as Avery looked up and down she found that she couldn’t choose. Playstation-original through 3-were sitting on shelves closest to the top, then XBOX 360 and the games to go with that were right below. As she roamed her eyes down, Avery smirked as she noticed a lime green box sitting close to the floor and she knew-Nintendo 64 would be Christian Coma’s downfall.

Avery only pointed down to the floor and she watched with a smirk gracing her pierced lips as CC got up, smiled at her and then moved around to hook everything up. Avery grabbed the controllers-huge in her tiny hands-and sat down on the couch. She placed her own on one knee and set CC’s on the table before her and then she reached for her beer. She had never imagined upon waking up today that she would be sitting in CC’s condo, drinking a beer and getting ready to whoop some drummer ass at the best video game ever made-Mario Kart. CC sat down as the intro played on the television and Avery only smirked at him as he squinted his eyes at her before opening his mouth.


“So, to make this interesting-I think we should make a bet.” CC suggested as the two of them picked their players. He had, predictably, picked Mario while Avery stuck her tongue out the side of her mouth and went over her choices. Yoshi it was and soon enough they were setting everything up for their battle.

“Oh? Like what kind of bet?” She asked as CC picked the track and Avery groaned-Bowser’s Castle would always be her downfall. They stayed quiet for a moment while everything loaded and then Avery chanced a look at CC. He was staring at her, those brown eyes locking with her hazel ones and she felt that fucking resolve of hers melting even more.

“Well we’ll play seven rounds and the winner gets a prize.” CC said simply, pausing the game before anything got started. He liked this girl, but from what Brittany had told him-Avery wasn’t likely to go out with him based on the fact that he was in a band.

So…he was hoping to fix that little problem.

“What kind of prize?” She asked, her voice hesitant and CC only laughed as he chugged his beer and moved up to get another one. As she watched him walk out of the room, Avery noticed that Wednesday had settled on top of her boots and was snoozing away.

“Well if you win I’ll have to do something for you…” CC said as he entered the room again and passed her another beer. Avery only smirked as she cracked the top and took a swig-this could be kind of interesting.

“And if you win…what’s my punishment then?” Avery asked as she finished sipping from her beer and turned to look at the drummer sitting beside her. His pose was relaxed, with one arm resting on the back of the couch and his jaw was slack as he smiled at her. His eyes though-there was an intensity there that frightened her.

“If I win…you have to go out on a date with me.” He said simply and Avery tried to keep her face as emotionless as possible. Inside she was screaming, shouting and in tears-she couldn’t do that…she couldn’t let herself fall again.

“I-um…fuck fine!” Avery relented then, closing her eyes as CC only smiled, triumphant, before starting the game.


As the game started and that happy tune filled the room, CC couldn’t believe his luck. Leave it up to Ash to woo a girl, get her to ride home with them and of course she would have an incredibly attractive best friend that was everything he could ever ask for in a girl. Avery was funny, smart, quick witted and absolutely beautiful. She was curvy, which he had always liked and CC knew that this girl could give him a run for his money-kind of like she was doing right now. One race down and Avery was up on her feet and doing a victory lap around his couch, her arms held high in the air and CC noticed that her shirt had risen with her movements.

Quickly enough the girl had sat back down, sticking her tongue out at him as she chose the next course and now it was CC’s turn to groan. Banshee Boardwalk-fuck he hated this one, but as they raced CC found that it didn’t matter. They were bantering back and forth and as Mario crossed the finish line before Yoshi, CC felt himself smirking as he turned to face the huffing girl beside him. She was going to lose this whole thing and CC would get to take her out-to where he had no idea, but he knew it would probably be fun as long as Avery was around.

The two of them played fiercely and only stopped a handful of times so that CC could get them some more beers. His fridge was usually always empty, but he had thankfully stocked up on beer before leaving for tour. The tour had been rough and lonely and CC was glad to be home, but he was also really glad that Ash and Andy had agreed to do that interview. He liked Brittany and he felt bad for her-no one should ever feel that bad about themselves that they should feel the need to hurt their own flesh like that. Finally after six rounds the two of them were tied and they both agreed that the tie breaker would have to be on the biggest pain in the fucking ass course of them all-Rainbow Road.


“You’re going to love this date…” CC teased as he punched buttons on his controller and managed to dodge around a banana peel that Avery had shot his way.

“Yeah, well you’re going to love washing my car in the speedo I already have picked out for you to wear.” She shot back at him and smirked as CC only shook his head and got his mind back in the game. They were on the final lap, neck and neck and CC felt his heart beat quicken.

“I’m pretty sure I’ve got you beat Williams!” CC laughed as his car passed over the finish line mere seconds before Avery’s and he felt his spirits sink when she groaned loudly. Was he that bad? Why was this girl so fucking hesitant to let him take her out?

“Fuck! I want a rematch!” She was pouting and CC found it adorable as he placed his controller down on the table and looked over toward the girl sitting beside him. Her bottom lip, the right side pierced and amazing looking, was sticking out and she had her tattooed arms crossed over her tank top clad chest.

“Nope-no rematches, no take backs and no refunds.” CC said as he picked up his beer and finished it off. He was feeling a buzz and he was also feeling really fucking flirtatious right now-so he did what came naturally and placed an arm around Avery’s naked shoulders.

“Fine, fine. When is this wonderful date going to occur?” She asked, looking at him and her angry eyes had grown softer. He loved the color-dark green on the outside, but it got lighter as it got to the pupil and then there was a ring of gold and gold flecks splashed throughout her irises.

“Tomorrow…” He said and Avery only grumbled as she sat back against the couch and picked up her controller. He had won this round, but Avery knew that the war was far from over and she wasn’t surrendering that easily.


As they battled it out for the rest of the evening, Avery couldn’t help but wonder what Brittany and her new man were getting themselves into.
