An Unexpected Love

Ashley’s POV

I guess Brittany was still tired, I mean, she was up pretty early and most likely still had jet lag. My point is that she fell asleep leaning against Jinxx. When the movie was over, Jinxx poked me (I was sitting beside him and Jake. CC was coming back; I guess he got a shower because his hair was wet).

“Do you mind taking her? I’m going to take a shower.” He whispered and I nodded. I got her comfortable and watched as CC and Jake played a video game. Jinxx came back from his shower and sat down on the side Brittany wasn’t on. When the game ended, CC stood up and went to check the cupboards and everything. Most likely for food.

“I’m hungry!” I rolled my eyes. He came back to where we all were sitting. “Guys! There is no food!” I groaned.

“Shut up! Your gunna wake her up!” I shouted/whispered. I motioned to Brittany and CC looked down sheepish.

“Sorry. But seriously I’m hungry.”

“Then go ask if we can stop.” CC left and soon came back.

“There’s a gas station at the next exit.” I nodded and went back to watching T.V. Well…more watching Brittany sleep. The bus stopped, and the guys got off.

“Ash, you coming?” I shook my head and motioned to Brittany. Andy nodded. “I’ll get you guys something for later then.” I nodded and he got off the bus. I ran my fingers through her hair, watching her sleep. Suddenly, her face scrunched up. She started to whimper and put her hands over her face while shaking uncontrollably. I took shook her.

“Brittany. Brittany wake up.” She just whimpered more then suddenly screamed.

“Stop! Please stop!” She then started to cry. I didn’t know what to do, so I grabbed her by both shoulders and moved her until she was sitting up.

“Brittany!” I was yelling and shaking her now. “Wake up!” Her eyes shot open, and the tears continued to run down her face.

“A-Ashley?” She suddenly grabbed me and started to cry. I held her and rocked her.

“Shh. Stop crying. What’s wrong?” She calmed down a little bit but still had a death grip on me.

“Just a nightmare. That’s all.” She whispered so low I could barely hear her. Suddenly, Jinxx opened the door to the bus and came running in.

“What happened? Is everything ok?” I nodded, and, still rocking her and stroking her hair, I mouthed ‘Nightmare’ to Jinxx. He nodded then left, I guess to let the other guys know everything was fine. Brittany and I sat together for a little bit longer, then she slowly pulled away.

“Brittany.” She looked at me. Jinxx had told me that she thought she hurt me. I had to tell her she hadn’t. “Look. What you said this morning was true. I know how my ways seem to people, people like you. And I can understand why you stopped everything. But you didn’t hurt me.” She looked at me, shocked.

“I-I…I meant it. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m glad I didn’t. But, Ashley, I would like to be with you. I feel…God. You’re going to think I’m crazy.” I took her chin in my fingers and made her eyes connect with mine.

“Try me.” She took a deep breath.

“I feel like something is pulling me toward you. I know, that sounds cr-“ I cut her off with a kiss.

“It doesn’t. Because I feel the same way.” I said something I hadn’t plan on saying, but the words left my mouth before I could stop them. “Brittany, will you be my girlfriend?”
