An Unexpected Love

Ashley’s POV

I don’t know what it is about Brittany, but I felt something pulling me toward her. As we left her behind, I told Andy this.

“Like ‘she’s hot I wanna screw her’ or ‘I wanna get to know this girl’ kinda thing?”

“I wanna get to know her, Andy. She seems so…fragile but…not. You know?” He nodded, and then seemed to think of something.

“How is she going to know her way to the bus?” I thought about it, and then shrugged. Andy got a look in his eyes. “Why don’t you go back to get her?” I could tell he was leaving me to be alone with her. I punched his shoulder.

“Thanks man.” He opened his eyes wide, acting like he was confused.

“For what?” He smirked and punched me back, winking. He turned and walked away, and I went back to get Brittany. When I got to her, she wasn’t standing where we left her.

‘Duh, idiot. She probably went around the corner.’ That’s when I heard the crying. I looked around the corner, and found her, sitting on the ground and her head in her lap, crying. I walked over and held out my hand.

“Hey. You ok?” She looked at my hand, then at my face. She reached out and took my hand. I pulled her up. I didn’t really want to let go of her hand, but I did, so I didn’t make it seem too weird.

“Yeah. Sorry you had to find me like this.” She waved her hand over where she had been crying. Her snake bites glinted in the faint light. I felt the sudden urge to kiss her, but I shook it off. I was more worried about why she had been crying in the first place.

“Actually, I came back to lead you back to the bus. Andy and I both realized you wouldn’t know your way there, and I came back to you crying. What’s wrong? Youok? Really?” She sighed. It looked like for a minute she wasn’t going to tell me, but then she looked into my eyes. Her eyes were such a light brown, they just drew you in.

“I just got kicked out of my apartment. I couldn’t pay rent, and, well, that’s what it came to.” I could see she was about to cry again, and I couldn’t hide the fact that I cared about what happened to her from my eyes. I pulled her into a hug. She started to cry, so I tried to comfort her the best I could. When she was done, she stood there, in my arms, for a second, and…I felt…at peace I guess. But then she suddenly pulled away. She looked down, her hair hiding her face. I almost reached out to brush it away to see her face, but I stopped myself.

“I-I’m sorry.” Why was she apologizing? Oh. The hug and crying thing. I shrugged.

“I don’t mind. You’re going through a tough time. Come on, let’s go meet the other guys.” She started to walk behind me, but I couldn’t take it anymore. I stopped and grabbed her hand. As I was intertwining our fingers, I felt that feeling of peace settle over me again. When we got to the bus, she pulled away. I resisted the urge to just pull her toward me, and instead turned toward the yelling on the bus. “Hey. Hey! Shut up! Guys. This is Brittany. She was the interviewer for me and Andy today, and we invited her. Andy, can I talk to you real quick?” He nodded and I followed him to the bunk room.

“What’s up?” I took a deep breath, then let it out.

“She got kicked out of her place.” His eyes went wide.

“What?” I nodded.

“Yeah. I was thinking…”

“Uh oh. Ash was thinking!” I punched him in the shoulder.

“I’m being serious here! I was thinking of inviting her to stay with us.” He looked at me, confused.

“And you wanted to tell me because?” I shrugged.

“I thought you might wanna know. Also…”

“Your gunna tell her it’s my idea, aren’t you?” I nodded. He sighed. “Fine. Do what you want, I really don’t care. But, really, you should tell it was your idea.”

“Thanks.” We walked out.

“28. Old enough to drink, Jinxx.” Knew I would find out her real age. I barely noticed the fact that Jinxx was yelling at CC again, because I heard Brittany giggle (That. Is. Sexy. I don’t know why. It just is) and whisper; “Mamma Jinxx.” I tapped her shoulder and she turned around.

“Mamma Jinxx?” She giggled again and nodded.

“We call him that in the fan world.” Andy joined the conversation.

“Anybody else got a nickname?” I have a feeling he knows already…she nodded.

“Ashley is Purdy Porn.” We all started to laugh, even I had to admit it was a good one. That’s when she noticed the alcohol. She motioned to it.“You guys have any Jack?”

“Whiskey girl, huh?” My kinda girl. She nodded, and I motioned for her to follow me. I started to pour her a cup, and I whispered in her ear at the same time. This girl was making me bring out a lot of self control I don’t usually have. “I hope you don’t mind, but I told Andy. He told me to offer for you to stay with us. Will you?” I was pleading with my eyes, I could tell. I really do want her to stay with us, so I’m pulling all the stops. She seemed shocked, but then started to think about it, then smiled and got that gorgeous smile on her lips.

“You guys sure you want me?” Suddenly, she was grabbed in a huge hug from behind. CC.

“Yeah! It will be fun!” CC set her down and she turned to face him.

“So,” she wheezed, “the rumors are true about your hugs.” We all started to laugh. I followed her back out to where the guys were still playing video games. “Purdy!”

“What?”

“Drinking contest. Now.” I smirked.

“You sure about this? I mean, I think you won’t stand a chance.”

“Five bucks on the table now Purdy boy.” I dug in my pocket and pulled out a five dollar bill. She dug in her pocket for a five dollar bill herself while I went and got the bottle of Jack. About ten drinks in; she started to act really, really drunk. I could tell I won, so I stopped taking drinks.

“I win,” I sing songed. She groaned.

“Guess you doooooooooooo!” She started to laugh uncontroably. Suddenly, she stopped. She was staring intently.

“Uhhh…whatcha doin?”

“You’re so fucking hot.” I reached over and cupped her cheek with my hand and ran my thumb over her cheekbone.

“So are you.” She blushed and her eyes flicked to my lips then back to mine. I couldn’t take it anymore. I leaned in and kissed her. She kissed me back, and soon had her fingers tangled in my hair. I pushed her down on the couch. She bite down on my lip, and I bite back. She moaned and I stuck my tongue into her mouth. I soon beat her tongue into submission and I was roaming her upper body with my hands. I was about to slid my hand under her shirt when I heard a low whistle.

“I was right about the ‘she’s hot I wanna screw her’ part huh?” I pulled away from her and whapped Andy across the head.

“No you dumbass! I just…” I scratched the back of my head. “Just got caught up in the moment I guess.” I heard a giggle from my left. I turned toward Brittany. She was sitting up.

“I didn’t mind. As a matter of fact…” She leaned over and kissed me again. I kissed her back, and I felt someone tap my shoulder. I groaned and pulled away.

“What Andy?”

“Get a room!” I sighed and stood up, holding out my hand for Brittany.

“Come on. You’re drunk as fuck. You need to sleep.” She took my hand and I lead her to my bunk. I laid her down and went to leave, but she grabbed my hand.

“Please. Don’t leave me. Not right now.” I looked into her eyes, and she seemed so venerable. I climbed in next to her, and held her close.

“What’s wrong?” She was shaking slightly. I pulled away and looked at her face. I took her chin between my fingers and made it so she was facing me. “Brittany? Seriously. What’s wrong?” She looked me in the eyes.

“When…when I get drunk and alone…things from the past come back to me. Don’t leave me alone. Please?” I pulled her close again.

“I promise. I won’t leave you thins entire night.” And I didn’t. Not even after she fell asleep. Not until I myself fell asleep.
