They Cant Tell Me What is Right
things are looking up
A few hours later I stood up and picked up the blade that fell to the floor. I had sat and cried for the entire time. I looked at the jagged piece of metal and relunctantly walked over to the waste basket i kept in the corner and dropped the razor into the trash. Before I could change my mind I tied up the trash bag and pulled it out of the plastic bin. The screaming died down an hour ago but i was still worried about what i would be meeted with when i left my room. Taking a deep breath to settle myself I twisted the knob and walked out of the room. I slowly crept down the hall to the living room. What i saw surprised me.
Danny was cleaning up the mess my mother had made from her rampage that no doubt would return later tonight or tommorwo morning. He never cleaned it up he always sat and made fun of me while I did it. Something was different about him today he seemed...odd.
I noticed i was still watching him from around the corner when he saw me, stopped cleaning and sat on the couch. Taking it as an invitation i slowly and relunctantly eased down to the cushion. He didnt scream, yell or hit me and make me leave. To my surprise he wrapped his arm around me and a comforting way and held me as we both started crying. Then i realized how selfish i had been about mom's shit it was effecting him just as much. The next thing shocked me even more.
"I'm so, so, so sorry" he choked out between sobs, which made me cry more.
"It's okay" i said.
now's not the time to fight the people you love
I heard Andy's voice.
There was a knock at the door that made me and my brother break from the hug and I slowly got up and opened the door to see a police officer.
Shit.
