Chapter 8

Andy's POV

I had just finished giving my statement to the officers when I couldn't help but overhear what they were saying to Raven. This poor girl had just lost her mother, and on her 18th birthday. The kid had been through enough, and I couldn't help, but to feel the need to comfort her in some way.

I walked over to her, and draped my arms around her shoulders in a comforting fashion. "How you holding up, Red?" I asked, although I already knew that answer. Letting out a sigh of discomfort, and sadness, Raven burst into tears, and hugged me. "I have nowhere to go. I'm going to end up homeless." She sobbed.

I sighed myself, and wrapped her in a tight hug. "You're not gonna end up homeless. I would never let that happen to you." I assured her. Looking up at me like I was crazy, she wiped her eyes, and tilted her head sideways. "What do you mean? Where else am I gonna go?" She asked. I pursed my lips, and looked down at her eyes. "On tour, with The Black Veil Brides. That's where." I answered back nonchalantly.

Raven's POV

Holy Batman. Andy Biersack just invited me to go on tour with The Black Veil Brides. I'm not sure if I am stunned into silence or if the shock of what's going on around me hasn't kicked in yet, but I can't breathe, let alone speak. "Andy, that's really, really amazing of you to offer, but I couldn't do that to you guys. You have your careers to think about, you don't need someone else to take care of." I gave him a sad smile.

"That's funny, I don't remember asking you to come. You're going with, and that's final. I won't take no for an answer. Look, it's clear you've got nothing here holding you down. We can tutor you or something on the road, you can graduate, we'll be family." He shrugged as if it were nothing to him. I bit my lip, mulling it over in my mind. I knew I couldn't refuse this offer. God only knows when I'd get the chance to do something like this again. Not to mention, as much as I hated to admit it, Andy was right. Nothing was stopping me now.

"Okay, I'll go. I'm gonna go get my stuff, I'll be back shortly." I let go of him, and climb the stairs two by two until I'm in my room packing. Almost a half hour later, I've gathered everything I'll need, and I head downstairs, forever saying goodbye to my home. Scarlet greets me at the bottom of the stairs, and tackles me into a hug. "Oh my God, Rave. I heard what happened on the news, thank God you're alright." She whispers to me.

I hug her back, and nod. "Thank you, and I'm glad too." Letting go of me, she looks me up and down then realizes I have all my stuff with me. "Where are you going?" She asks. I look at all my stuff then look at her. "I can't stay here anymore, it's a crime scene, and since I'm legally an adult, I'm too old to be put in the foster care system." I explain. "So...what are you gonna do?" She asks me. I feel guilty for leaving my one and only true best friend behind, but I need this. "Andy has invited me to go on tour with him and the guys, and I agreed." I respond with a whisper.

Her mouth drops open, and tears brim up, threatening to spill over. "You're really leaving? Wow, this is hard to believe. I...I don't know what to say. I'm gonna miss you so damn much. Please, promise me you'll stay in touch?" She asked as her tears spilled over. My lip began to quiver, and I nodded. "You know I will. You gonna be okay?" I ask her. She nods and gives me a really long hug. I hug her back and say my goodbyes. The boys lead me out to the bus and put all my luggage on board.

Andy told the the others that I was coming on tour with them, and surprisingly the guys were really excited about it. I climbed onto the bus, and got comfortable, claiming the couch as my bed. I threw my pillow down and my favorite blanket. I got settled in, and before I knew it, I was out like a light. I had put the guys behind schedule by a few hours, as they were supposed to be in New York City by now, but we were just leaving Indiana when the sun peeked out over the clouds.

"Okay Little Red, today is your first day as part of our crew. We gotta go check in with the venue manager, the others will show you what to do." Andy pointed out. I nodded groggily, and got up to get dressed. After climbing off the bus, I began to help unload all the equipment, and take it into the stage. I set up everything where it went, and headed back out to the bus.
