Chapter 7

Scarlet's POV

I check my phone, and realize it's nearly midnight. We've spent the entire night with the Black Veil Brides. I am so glad I could do this for Raven, she totally deserves it. Tapping her on the shoulder, I remind her of the time. "Raven, it's getting really late. We should go." She frowns at me, and turns back to the boys. "As much as I've had fun tonight, we've gotta go.

Tearing her gaze away from Andy, she turns to me, and pouts. "You go on without me, I'll take a taxi home. I wanna stay longer...that is, if the boys are okay with it?" She asks the guys. All the guys exchange glances, and nod. "Don't worry, we'll make sure Red makes it home safe." CC assures me.

Sighing, I nod, and get up. After collecting my things, I shake all the guy's hands one more time, then turn to Raven. "Happy Birthday, best friend. Love you tons, and I'm glad you had a good time. You better call me tomorrow so I know you made it home." I demand of her. She nods with a smile, thanks me again, and gives me a hug before I head home.

Raven's POV

Oh my God. I'm staying here, alone, with the Black Veil Brides. Plus, Andy's really opened up, and talked to me for most of the night. "Thank you guys for letting me stay, it's been fun, but I should probably go." I stand up to collect my things, but Andy stops me. "How far away from here do you live?" I mentally count the blocks to my house and shrug. " About 37 blocks or so."

Andy turns to the other guys, and then looks back at me. "There is no way in hell I'm letting you walk home alone, in the dark. We'll drop you off." He motions to their bus driver, and I give him my address. When we get to my house, the lights are off, my mom's car is in the yard, and it's eerily silent. "Something's not right here. Do you guys mind waiting just a second while I check this out?" Andy looks to the others, and they all nod.

Stepping off the bus, I run up to the front door, and find it unlocked. Pushing it open, I step inside, and a putrid smell hits me, almost making me vomit. I pull my t-shirt up over my nose, and walk forward when I trip, and fall over something. Getting to my hands, and knees, I begin to crawl back to whatever I trip over, but something stops me in my tracks. A wet, sticky substance is all over my hands, my jeans, and the floor.

Beginning to panic, I reach out in front of me, and my hand touches something. I yank it back quickly, and let out a high pitch scream. I slide back on my ass, as far away as I can, until I make contact with the wall. Standing up, I feel for the light switch, and click it on. As light illuminates the room, I let out a series of screams, unable to find the words to speak.

On the floor lies my mother, and three other bodies. All of them have gunshot wounds to the back of the head, and there is blood literally everywhere. Seconds pass, and my front door flies open, and in steps Andy, followed by the guys. They all stop dead in their tracks while Ashley dials 911. My stomach is doing somersaults, and I can't breathe.

It feels like forever passes before the police show up. Calming me down, they sit me down, and ask me what happened. I explain to them everything that had happened, and I'm not sure if it's from the initial shock, or relief I feel, but I don't cry once the entire time. I'm not heartless, I loved my mother, but compared to what it was like living with her, this was far better. The police also interview the guys, and take down some notes.

"Is there anywhere you can go, or anyone you can stay with, Raven? Because this is an ongoing investigation, we can't let you stay here, and because you're 18 now, you're too old to be put into foster care." The officer explains. Dropping my gaze to the floor, I shake my head no. "No, I have nowhere else to go. My dad is dead, and I don't have any other family." The officer takes down more notes before going to talk to the others.

Awe, poor Raven. It's so sad and on her birthday of all days. Wonder what's going to happen!?
