Chapter 33

Raven's POV


We finish our three tracks quickly plus the song that I wrote for Andy. While everyone gets their gear loaded up so we can go talk to Craig, Andy pulls me out into the hall so we're alone. “Oh my God, Rae. That song was beautiful. I loved it, thank you. I love you.” I smile in appreciation and hug him tight before he plants a soft kiss on my red lips. “You and Jinxx should really put it on the record. There is no way he can say no to you guys. You killed it!” He says excitedly.

I nod and give him a nervous smile. “God, I hope we get signed. I already feel sick to my stomach, I may keel over and die if he says no.” I admit. It sounds so foreign admitting out loud that I'm nervous. I've wanted this my entire life, and now it may actually be happening. Andy wraps his arms around me and I wrap mine around his waist. “You were perfect, babe. Thank you again, for the song. I think putting that song on your next album featuring Jinxx would be killer.” He tells me. I couldn't agree more with him. Jeremy out did himself on that song, it's brilliant and so beautiful.

Andy, and the rest of Black Veil Brides are hanging around while everyone from Escape the Fate and Sleeping With Sirens do the same. Finally, Craig walks into the room and he looks...pleased? Surely this has to be a good sign. “Alright ladies, I've thought about it and after hearing your material and seeing how you perform, let's make a deal.” He smiles triumphantly. I can't help it and before I know it I'm screaming to the top of my lungs and the girls are doing the same. We giggle and laugh excitedly like school girls and then we remember where we are and we stop. “Come up to my office and we'll sign the paperwork, get your contracts set up and talk about your first tour.”

I am beyond thrilled at this opportunity. I take Andy's hand and we step into Craig's office as do the other girls. “Now, I take it you ladies have heard of the band Of Mice and Men?” He asks while we initial the proper pages and read the fine print. I look up and smile at the mention of their name. They are one of my favorite bands. “Yeah, I've definitely heard of them. I just bought Restoring Forces on iTunes and I love all their work.” I beam. “Perfect. You'll be opening for them on their tour. It's a U.S. Tour and it will last about 4 or 5 months, depending on if we add more dates. What I need from you girls is to write me at least 12 more songs. I don't care where you do it or how, but if they are as good as the 4 I just heard, I know you can do it. I'll have my office fax over your tour schedule by next week. Tour starts in 2 weeks and in the meant time I'm going to see if I can scrape up a few sponsors and get you ladies a bus.”

My head is reeling from the learned information. Holy fucking Batman. My band will be opening for Of Mice & Men. That's unreal. I can't even comprehend what is happening, it's all happening too fast. I turn to Andy and give him a smile and he returns it before wrapping an arm around my waist. “Austin and the guys are awesome. They'll take good care of you on tour. I'll make sure of that.” Andy whispers to me. I know he's nervous about this. We are still in the beginning stages of our relationship, seeming as we bypassed everything else a normal relationship has. After I finish signing and re-reading my contract, I set the stack of papers on Craig's desk and lean back in the leather chair. “Is that it? We are really ready to do this?” I ask. Craig steeples his hands in front of his face so his elbows rest on the oak desk. “Almost. We still need one more thing. The name needs to change. It's not that Wicked Angels is bad, but we are putting you up against hard hitters. You need a name that rolls off the tongue and shows you can compete.”

I begin to think about a name that suits the 5 of us. “If you guys have any names at all, please throw them out. Anybody here can contribute. Don't be shy.” I say to everyone. “Um...Rebel Arsenal?” Scarlet blurts out. We look around the room, but none of us agree. “Rebel Wake?” Jake suggests. Emerson shakes her head and sighs. “Pixie Glitch?” I hear CC say. I shake my head and look around. Everyone is in deep thought, but nobody has any ideas. “How about The Angel Effect?” I ask. The girls look at each other and so far they all seem to agree. “What's the meaning behind it?” Andy asks. Oh how I love him and his symbolism.

I turn to look at him as I answer. “Girls are usually considered to be angels. You know, the sweet, innocent persona? Well, we are kinda like that. We look sweet and innocent, but we are anything but angels and I believe that our image and music relays that message, too. Especially girls in a rock band from L.A. ” I'm proud of my answer. “I love it. You girls have The Angel Effect on everyone.” He says, confirming. I nod and the girls smile. “So, The Angel Effect it is!” I say to Craig. He mulls it over for a moment and nods his own head. “Perfect. I'll have logos drawn up before tour and we'll go over color schemes and get it painted on the bus and get you ladies some merchandise to sell at your shows.” I beam excitedly and stand up to shake Craig's hand.

We did it. We are signed, and we are going on tour. I am the luckiest woman alive. I don't think I've ever been more excited except for when I said yes to marrying Andy. As we leave the room, Kellin and the guys and Jacky and his guys are all waiting for us with high hopes. “Well?” Jacky asks Gemma. She sighs as if devastated then screams as loud as she can. “We are signed and we are on our first tour in two weeks with Of Mice And Men!” He smiles and wraps his arms around her and plants a kiss on her lips. “Congrats, baby. I knew you guys would kill it. Never doubted it for a second.”

Just as we finish unloading our equipment at our place, Andy gets a call and presses his lips into a hard line. He scrunches his eyes together and I can't tell if he's pissed or focused. I hope it's the latter. Finally, he hangs up the phone and pulls me against his chest. “Please don't be pissed, but Ronnie just called and he really wants me on this track he's doing for a mixtape. Will you be okay if I go down to the studio for a couple of hours?” He asks. I know we should be spending time together before I go, but we have 2 weeks to do that. “Of course you can go. I'll stay here and try to decide what the hell I'm going to be taking on this tour. Is it bad that I'm already stressed over this?” I ask. He kisses the end of my nose and his hands rest on my hips. “Don't worry about it. You'll be just fine. I'm going to miss you so fucking bad, but I know you'll be living your dream and I'm incredibly happy for you. Besides, I think we may have a tour coming up that starts sometime after you guys are gone on yours so we'll both be busy.”

I nod and rest my arms around his shoulders before leaning up on my tiptoes to kiss him on the lips. His tongue parts my lips and I find myself drawing his bottom lip between my teeth. We let it get heated before pulling apart for air and the silence between us isn't uncomfortable. “You go on with him and have fun. I'll try to find something for dinner and have it done by the time you get back. Just call before you leave so I know when to start getting it ready?” Andy gives me one of those heart breaking smiles and grabs his keys from the coffee table. “Yeah, I can do that. If you need me, call me. Love you, baby.” He winks at me. “Love you, too.” I say with a mad blush before he leaves the house.
