Chapter 2

Raven's POV

I couldn't control my excitement over the news and before I knew it I was up, screaming like the fan girl that I am. I stopped and looked around to see the entire class looking at me. I put my head down and slunk back into my chair while I blushed madly. I leaned over to Scarlet and squealed again. "You seriously...got t-tickets to the Black Veil Brides c-concert?!" I asked in a hushed whisper. Scarlet nodded and smiled at me.

When the final bell rang for the day I ran to my locker and headed outside to wait for Scarlet. When she came up to me, I grabbed her by the shirt and stared at her. "Please, please, PLEASE tell me you weren't kidding about those tickets. I don't think I could ever forgive you if it was fake." Scarlet put a hand over her heart in a mock hurt manor. "Ouch, that hurts, Raven! But no, I have the proof."

She grabbed her bag and dug in it for a minute before producing 2 tickets to the concert. I grabbed one and started to jump up and down like a child. The two week wait was going to kill me, unless my mom got to it first. I hated that woman with a passion and she hated me just as much. It was a constant battle and I was usually on the receiving end for losers.

I hugged Scarlet and thanked her a million times. She smirked at me and crossed her arms over her chest. I cocked my head to the side and narrowed my eyes at her. "What's with the smirk?" I asked. Scarlet shook her head and smiled at me. "There is another part of this gift, but it has to wait until the night of the concert." Again I felt my jaw drop and my eyes start to bulge. I begged and pleaded for her to tell me what it was but I knew she wouldn't cave. With a sigh I folded my arms over my chest and pouted. She laughed at my behavior and gave me a hug. "I'll see you tomorrow, don't let that witch get to you."

I nodded my head and started home. Thanks to detention I had missed my bus and I was stuck walking home. Less than an hour later I opened the front door and looked around. It was quiet at first until I heard voices in the kitchen. My mom and a few guys sat around out kitchen table snorting cocaine and drinking. They were smashed and strung out but not enough to not notice me. One guy made a pass at me and I rolled my eyes with disgust. Not bothering to tell my mom, I grabbed my stuff and headed upstairs to my room where I could escape.

Flopping down on my bed, I plugged my headphones in and started "In The End". It had been my go to song when things got bad. Listening to the Black Veil Brides had probably saved my life more times than I care to remember. As I lay there subconsciously thinking about my life and how the lyrics seemed to fit in some way, I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
