Imagine Me and You

The floor was vibrating with the sounds of rough drum beat and a heavy bass, but Ari Rae didn’t mind. She could feel the rhythm of the music in her soul, her black ballet flats just acting as a conductor for the wonderful thing that was music. She was at a show, not because she was there to see the band, although that had been a reason, but more so because she was here to see someone who was in the band. She had already seen them play two nights before and had had a chance of a life time-she had met them.

The venue that they had played in had been owned by a friend of hers and he had gotten her backstage to meet the band before they had gone on stage. When she had walked to the backstage area, the first person Ari had run in to was Jinxx and she laughed as he stopped to talk to her, admiring the black jeweled cross that was hanging from her neck. As she walked further into the dressing room, tucking her platinum blonde hair behind an ear, Ari felt her heart stop-there he was. Andy Biersack-the demi-God with the voice of an Angel. She had wanted to talk to him, but he was busy talking to his wife and she didn’t want to interrupt.

Ari had walked forward, when suddenly her way was blocked by a shirtless bass player who was openly staring at her tits. She admittedly was wearing a very low top, her black and purple dress tight right around her chest, but then it flared out as it came down right above her knees.

Ashley Purdy- he was staring openly at her and Ari could only shake her head and try to move past him, but he kept getting in her way. Finally they struck up a conversation, but Ari found him to be full of himself and way too into staring at her chest and her ass. Finally after fifteen excruciating minutes of dealing with Purdy, Ari was able to move on to talking to Jake and CC.


“Alright guys! Time to hit the stage!” Ari Rae turned around, seeing a smallish man standing in the doorway and she knew it must be the guys manager. The entire room came to life around her-Jinxx and Jake grabbed for their guitars, while CC walked past her, drum sticks twirling in between his fingers. Andy passed, his long arm thrown over his wife’s shoulders and he smiled at her as they passed on their way to the stage. Ashley was last and he stopped right in front of Ari and smirked.

“You gonna come watch me from the side of the stage sweet cheeks?” He asked as he placed a hand on the side of her face, running his thumb over her bottom lip. Ari tried to suppress her cringe-could this guy be anymore sleazy?

“Oh I’ll be on the side of the stage, but not for you…” She smirked as Ari walked past him and then yelped as she felt a hand smack her across her ass and she tried not to yell. Who the Hell did this guy think he was?


She watched as the guys played, standing on the side of the stage next to Andy’s wife Dess and Ari found that she liked the girl. She hadn’t been sure at first-it was hard to like someone who had taken your idol and teenage crush away from you, but Dess seemed like a normal down to Earth girl. All of the guys seemed really down to Earth-except Ashley. He kept coming over towards her, smirking and shaking his hips and Ari only rolled her eyes and shooed him away. So why, deep down, did she feel such an attraction to this guy? He was so full of himself-a complete turn off for Ari, but there was something in those eyes…a sadness that crushed her heart.

So now why was she-two days later-at another one of their shows? Well after that first show, Ashley had come up to her in the back lounge and apologized for his actions earlier. He always got really pumped up before a show and sometimes said or did things that only those closest to him would understand. She had forgiven him, but it took some time and some alcohol before Ari got to the point where she actually was enjoying her time with Ashley.

Finally before they left to go to their hotel, Ashley had done the unthinkable and asked her out. Ari, in a state of slight intoxication, had accepted and now here she was-standing in the crowd of their second show watching as Ash and Andy pranced around on stage.

Finally after another ten minutes of stage time and then an encore, Ari headed towards the backstage area and flashed her temp badge at Yanni, the guys over sized security guy. She wove her way through the back halls until finally she came to the dressing room door. She knocked and as her knuckles smacked against the door, it opened more and she nearly gasped. The room was empty and lit only by dozens of candles. As she entered the room, Ari took in the scene- a single table was sitting in the middle, only two chairs and a bottle of wine sitting on the top. Ashley was there, having put on a black button up shirt and he was smiling at her shyly.


“Come in Ari. Sorry we couldn’t have a normal date, but with us being on tour and everything it’s kind of hard to get out before and after shows.” He came to her, placing a hand on the small of her back as Ari allowed herself to be led to the small table in the middle of the room.

“I-it’s okay…” Ari stuttered. She was shocked-this was so romantic and sweet…beautiful even and completely not what she expected from Ashley Purdy. She had thought they would go to some club, get drunk and he would gain her as a notch on his belt before moving on. This-this showed her that he was serious.

“Good. Do you want some wine?” She had sat down, folding her hands in her lap as Ashley held up the bottle and offered her a glass that he was pouring. Ari smiled as she took the glass, bringing it to her lips and taking a very small sip. She wanted to keep a level head tonight.

“Thanks, Ashley this was really nice of you…” Ari mused as she looked around at the room and took in all of the candles. She had expected something from Ashley Purdy, but sweet and romantic certainly wasn’t it.

“Well I figured I owed it to you. I made an ass of myself that first night and I felt really bad about it afterward. Andy has done this for Dess a few times and he swears it works…” Ashley was smiling at her from across the table, his chin resting on his tattooed knuckles and Ari felt a blush flash over her skin.


They both spent at least an hour, laughing and joking as they talked about their pasts and their presents. Ari learned a lot about Ashley in that hour-he was a sweet guy who had gotten very mixed up in his life and was now learning that playing around with girls was going to do nothing but make him more miserable. He had watched as his bandmate married the girl of his dreams and now that was what Ashley had wanted.

Ari found herself mesmerized by him, sitting there with her chin resting on a hand as she bit down on one of her lip rings and caught his brown eyes with her silvery green ones. She told him about her life-how music had saved her when she was younger and how it had given her confidence as she got older. Finally the night seemed to come to an end and as it did Ari noticed that their chairs had gotten closer and closer until their knees were almost touching.


“So I still want to hear you sing…” Ashley was smirking at her and Ari felt that blush creep across her cheeks once again. She had, stupidly, told Ash that she liked to sing and would often sing along to her music in the car while she drove. Now he was looking at her with puppy dog eyes and Ari knew she was done for.

“Not a chance…” Ari laughed and suddenly Ashley’s lips were against her. She melted in that instant, her body pressing against his as he pulled them both in to a standing position and wove his fingers through her long blonde hair. She groaned against his lips, pulling away with a slight smirk on her lips.

“Please…for me…” He said, his lips against her neck and Ari couldn’t help but feel her knees buckle beneath her. She had her arms wrapped around his neck and she pulled back slightly until he was looking right in to her eyes. He had her and he knew it and now it was time to fight fire with fire.

“Boy, I will be your sexy silk. Wrap me around, 'round, 'round, 'round. I'll be your pussycat licking at your milk. Right now down, down, down…” Her lips were against his ear as she sang lowly to him and Ari couldn’t keep the smile from her lips as Ashley shivered.


He held her tightly, kissing the skin of her neck and Ari felt a growl escape her slightly parted lips. He had his hands all over her and while Ari didn’t know where this was going, she didn’t care in that moment. There had been a connection and she wanted to keep that connection going for as long as she could. Ash led her over towards one of the long couches and Ari only smiled as she sat down and watched Ash sit beside her. He pulled her onto his lap, his hands wrapping around her waist as his brown eyes stared deeply into her slivery green orbs. They were kissing feverishly and Ari knew that this was it-their connection would be complete and all she had to do was embrace it.


“You sure about this?” Ashley asked as he pulled away from her and looked at her soft face in the candlelight. They had blown all of the candles out, save for one which was right behind Ari’s head on a side table.

“Absolutely…” She said, her voice low and Ari only smiled as she turned her head and blew out the candle softly.


They were plunged into darkness, but their passion led the way and secretly they both hoped that it would lead them to something that would last a while-their paths were entwined and tangled, but it was okay…it would all be okay.
