Will this ever work?

I inhaled deeply.
“Heeey … Ashley.”
His eyes narrowed. “Why are you here?” he asked. His voice sounded hostile and I swallowed.
I waved my hands around through the air. “I … uhm … I woke up and wanted –“ “No, I mean, why are you here?”
Confused I let my look slide through the room, paying attention to not look at his face. Not that he wasn’t attractive (trust me – he was.) but he had that bad-boy touch to him that I wasn’t exactly into. I mean his long black hair was beautiful, I just preferred Andy’s short hair (more or less short).
“I … uhm … what exactly do you mean?” I asked. Slowly he came round the table that separated us, by doing this he ran his index finger over the surface. In some weird way he reminded me of a puma sneaking towards his prey. “I just don’t understand” he said with dangerously low voice, “what does he want with you?”
Oh God.
“I … I …” I stuttered.
“You know” he continued, “there are plenty of other girls. Worldwide. And he picks you …you of all people. He could have every chick he wants. You’re so normal that it’s already strange that he picked you for this little … adventure.” He smiled arrogantly. I felt my heart contracting and knew that I mustn’t believe him. “What adventure?” I asked nevertheless, trying to let my voice sound strong. “Oh come on.” He said and spread his arms to make his words even more clear. “You don’t really think that this will last any longer, do you? I mean look at him.” He came up to me until he was definitely too near, so I stepped back. “Then look at you. He has way bigger claims and you’re not able to even satisfy one of them.”
I stared at him.
What was this about at all? Because it wasn’t as if he … Oh God.
Ashley was … Oh.God.
I understood. I understood why he’d been behaving like this all the time. All right, so now was the time to play a little game. Maybe I could get something out of him. “But you are?” I asked with lifted eyebrows. He immediately clenched his teeth. “He’s just too good for you.” Yeah, he definitely tried to keep up appearances. I swallowed.
“Look.” I said. “It has never been my intention to “steal” Andy from you if that is what you want to call it. I know your friendship is pretty strong and I –“ “It’s more than friendship!” he interrupted me. “He’s like a brother to me!”
I just couldn’t believe what I had just found out. Suddenly I realized that I had to pretend ignorance as long as possible. Maybe he would open up to me? What a ridiculous thought.
“Ashley … this is about more than that, isn’t it? Andy’s more for you than that.”
His eyes threw out hate, piercing mine and actually I got really scared of him.
His hand came towards me and hit against the surface of the fridge, right next to my face. I winced. “You.” he growled and only this one word was threat enough. “You just don’t understand … you’re not worth him, you just don’t deserve him. There are people who love him more than you do.”
I took a trembling breath, encouraged myself and swallowed. “People like you?” I asked.
“What?”
“You.” I said, letting my voice sound horrified. “You’re in love with him.”
Aghast he stared at me, not willing to believe that I had caught him.
“Ashley?”
That wasn’t my voice.
Like a flash we turned around. It was Andy, standing in the door. Damn it. And his facial expression was clear.

I know this chapter's pretty short but I felt that there was nothing more to say than the things that were necessary ;D I hope you understand that :))
