We're Setting Worlds On Fire

Fallen Angel

The room was silent as the guys all looked towards the door as it slammed behind Andy’s retreating back. Jake got up from the floor, dusting off his butt as he moved towards the couch and grabbed for his guitar. Everyone stayed silent as they moved around the room to try and get ready for soundcheck. Andy would be back-they were all sure of it, but none of them wanted to follow behind the angry singer to try and lure him back in.

Jake noticed that Ashley looked mighty proud of himself as he strutted around the room and Jake suddenly wondered if all of this had been started for a reason. Ashley always liked stirring the pot-he liked seeing their reactions to things and while Jake found it funny most of the time…right now was not a good time for them to lose their singer.

“Should someone go after him?” Jake turned to see that Jinxx was standing there, his own guitar in his hands as he looked around the room with a worried expression on his face. Ashley only scoffed from a corner of the room where he was getting his bass tuned and CC stayed silent from his position on the couch.

“And say what? The guy is obviously pissed and he has every right to be…” Jake said as he gave Ashley a pointed look and the bassist only glared at him slightly.

“Don’t look at me like that. You were the one to tell him about my theory…I just explained it to him. Not my fucking fault that he’s so unstable that he can’t fucking handle the truth.” Ashley snarled and Jake held his now tight fists down by his sides. Andy was probably right-Ashley was just stirring things up because he had always disliked Lily and now he wanted everyone to think that she was somehow screwing with Andy’s head.

“I didn’t tell you to scream at him and to make him feel like we don’t need him Ash…” Jake said, his voice low as he picked up his guitar and headed towards the door to the stage.

“Yeah well he’ll come inside in a minute-he just needed to get away. I know Andy-he would never let his fans or us down.” Ashley said with a stern look on his face as he followed Jake’s lead and pulled his bass strap over his head.

“You better hope he fucking comes back…or else this tour is over and so is this band.” Jake said as he headed out the dressing room door and he knew that the others were following behind him.

“Well if worst comes to worst I can always sing.” Ashley said from the back of the line and Jake only rolled his eyes at Jinxx, who was beside him, as the group slowly made their way to the stage.

The guys all laughed at that thought as they made their way to the empty stage. They were always the first ones to do soundcheck, which was a good thing because that meant that none of the other bands would notice Andy’s absence. As they all got on stage, Jake looked out over the club, half expecting Andy to be sitting at the bar, staring them all down. He wasn’t though and as they all went into Perfect Weapon; Jake felt a stone land in his stomach. Where was Andy?

Andy sat there with his back against the wall and he knew he was probably sitting in garbage but he didn’t give a fuck. The empty bottle next to him was mocking him and with a swift flick of his wrist the bottle was flying across the alleyway and smashing against the opposite wall. He was drunk-no-he was fucking wasted beyond belief but Andy didn’t care. He didn’t care about anything anymore and slowly he looked up at the sky. It was so beautiful-so expansive and everything seemed so unending to him in that moment. What was Lily doing up there? Was she sitting on her little cloud-laughing at him as she watched him live his now miserable life? Did she miss him at all? Probably not.

Andy felt angry in that moment-of course she didn’t fucking miss him. Who the fuck would ever want such a fucked up loser like him? Andy groaned loudly as the world in front of him shifted and soon he realized that he had fallen over and was now laying on his right side. It seemed comfy being like this, so with a smirk Andy moved so that he was laying on his back, staring up at the sky.

The stars were bright tonight and as he rested his head on his folded arms, Andy wondered what it must feel like to look down on the world. Did they all look like little ants? Was God up there-using them all like his own personal dolls? Andy giggled at the thought and then he giggled more when he thought about Lily sitting up there watching him.

She was probably really ashamed and sad to see the way he had been acting. Different girls every night-using them just to make himself feel better. Lily had always told him that when you loved someone in that way-when you made love to them-it was supposed to be special and to mean something. Ashley had told him that was a crock of shit and soon enough Andy was screwing the first girl that would give him a smile.

The alcohol didn’t help-Andy had never been a big drinker, but as he turned his head slightly to look at the smashed bottle next to him Andy groaned. How had he become like this? He growled as Andy looked back up at the sky-this was all God’s fault. He had taken Lily away from him for some divine purpose, when really Lily should have stayed on earth to be with him…to help him.

“Fuck you…” Andy growled all of a sudden and he smirked as his star began to blink at him quickly. She was listening-good, he needed her to listen. He hoped everyone up there in Heaven was listening to him at this point.

“Yeah! That’s right ‘Lil! I said FUCK YOU!” Andy shouted and soon enough he was on his feet and pacing around the small alleyway.

He stumbled around, grabbing for the wall of the building across from the club, but Andy couldn’t take his eyes off of the sky. His star-Lily-was blinking at him angrily and Andy only smirked as he raised his middle finger high. He had always liked making Lily angry-she was so cute when she got mad because she would get this scrunched up look on her face and then she would stomp around their apartment for the rest of the day.

One time he had made her so mad that she punched him in the gut and then immediately started apologizing. Andy knew that Lily had a temper-they both did, but sometimes hers got out of control. He smirked as he looked up at the sky, but deep down Andy wanted to cry. He wanted to cry and lash out at something or someone. Why did she have to go? Could she not have fought hard to stay with him in this world? Didn’t she love him?

“What’s the matter Lily?! Was I not fucking good enough for you?! Was I too much fucking trouble for you to stick around?!” He shouted to the Heavens and Andy gasped as the star stopped blinking and almost completely disappeared from the sky.

“That’s right! I’m fucked up because of you! Fuck you! You fucking lied to me Lily-you fucking told me we would be together forever and you fucking lied!” Andy shouted, this time his voice cracked near the end and he was back on the ground with his back against the hard brick wall of the club. He looked up and the star had all but disappeared.

“Stop watching over me Lily! I’m a fucking failure-I know it and you know it! I don’t need your fucking sympathy any fucking more. You’re dead-why the fuck should you care about some fucking asshole like me?!” He was screaming now, the tears falling down his cheeks but he didn’t even bother to wipe them away.

Andy sat there and cried as his eyes grew bleary and he was hardly able to see the stars in the sky anymore. Why him? Why had he been the chosen one? He had never asked for this-he had never wanted any of this. He had been fine down in Hell-he had been miserable but at least his emotions had been nonexistent. Now all he did was feel-pain, hurt and misery. He wanted to make them pay-God, the Angels and even Lily…especially Lily.

She had come to him in a time of great need and he had been there for her-he had saved her. Where was she now in his greatest time of need? Where was she now that he needed guidance? Nowhere to be fucking found. Shit she was probably sitting high on a puffy white cloud eating fucking cotton candy and laughing at him. Andy lashed out, punched the closest thing to him, which sucked because that was a brick wall and those things were hard.

Andy winced as he brought his hand up to his chest and stared out in front of him. He should probably get inside-they needed to do soundcheck and Andy knew that the guys were probably wondering where he was. Or-or they could give a shit. Maybe he just needed to go away for a while…just run away and faded into the scene of things. He could get some stupid retail job and be a normal person for a while. No-fuck he would never be normal.

Andy sighed as he let his head fall back against the brick and he looked up. The stars were bright that night-so much brighter than he had ever seen them before. None of them were twinkling except for Lily. She seemed to be twinkling a lot and Andy cocked his head to the side as he realized that something was different about her.

Andy noticed that Lily’s star seemed to be moving farther and farther away from the North Star. He looked up and suddenly Andy realized that the star he had deemed Lily seemed to be getting closer and closer to him. She was falling and Andy’s heart began to sink as he remembered his words and his thoughts. He loved Lily and it pained him to think back on the things he had said about someone he claimed to love. The sky seemed to be vibrating as the star came closer and closer and Andy felt his heart stop. An image of Lily came to his mind and suddenly Andy was taken back to the last time he had seen her.

They had been fighting in that damn battle and she was fierce looking with her sword in her hand and her light blonde hair flying around her like a whip. Her light eyes were vicious as she took down Demon after Demon and Andy felt a sense of pride swell in his chest. Here was this girl who had been so timid and unsure of herself and he had helped her become someone who could cut a Demon in half.

There was a moment when everything grew silent and Andy noticed that Lily was smiling at him-it was a brief moment and didn’t last but a few seconds. But in those few seconds as their eyes made contact-Andy knew that Lily would always be the one for him. She smiled at him, blood splattering across her face as her sword cut into the Demon in front of her and then everything began to blur.

Andy looked up, his memories gone and his eyes grew wide as he noticed that the star that was falling down was getting bigger and bigger. Finally there was a great shuddering as the air around him grew incredibly hot and Andy held his hands over his eyes as the alleyway was filled with a very bright light. He felt the ground shake beneath his feet and as Andy removed his hands he noticed that a giant fire ball had landed.

There was debris of glass, pieces of pavement and parts of a car that was parked nearby and had been hit. All of this littered the ground and as he looked around Andy noticed that there was a huge crater that had formed in the middle of the alleyway. Carefully and silently he approached, his breath catching in his throat as he heard someone grumbling from the bottom of the crater.

“Great-just fucking great!” The voice sounded agitated and carefully Andy finally made his way to the edge of the gigantic hole and looked down. He couldn’t breathe-his heart stopped beating as he feasted his eyes on the site before him.

There was someone in that hole. All he could see were a huge pair of bright white wings, the feathers swaying in the breeze that was fluttering through the air. The very tips of the wings were singed and slightly blackened and Andy had to stuff his hands in his pockets to keep from reaching out and touching one. The figure before him was kneeling on their knees and he could just make out the wild and tangled blonde hair that was flowing around a pair of sooty looking shoulders.

The white dress that this Angel was wearing was also slightly blackened and as Andy stood there with his mouth open he felt a sense of relief wash over him. The girl-he could tell it was a girl now-was finally looking at him over her shoulder and he realized he knew those lips that were curled into a sneer, that button nose that was slightly scrunched up in distaste and he knew those lavender eyes. He had woken up to them almost every day for a year.

Right now they held a vicious and pissed off look and Andy knew that he was in big…big…trouble.

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
