We're Setting Worlds On Fire

Illusions

Andy grunted loudly as he rolled on the ground. His ribs were still sore and his body was still covered in healing bruises, but he had to get this done. Ashley was throwing everything he had at him and Andy knew it was because his best friend didn’t want to see him get hurt again. The guys had found him in that alleyway-CC said he felt like something was pulling him towards the back door and thankfully they had been able to get him to a hospital.

The ER doctor had told Andy that he was lucky he had been found when he was-another few minutes and he may have died from internal bleeding. Andy had spent two days in the hospital and when he finally woke the first thing he asked the guys was if they had seen Lily. They had all shaken their heads, claiming that they found him in the alley by himself and even his attackers had disappeared. Andy felt frustrated-he knew that it had been her…he had seen her eyes and who else would save him like that?

Andy dodged out of the way as a dagger whizzed past his head and he could hear the metal as it sliced through a small strand of hair. Andy jumped up, his hands on his knees as he looked around and saw that his sword was laying on the mat just a few feet from where he stood. He and Ash were in some abandoned building in Texas and they were getting in as much training as possible.

After his attack-Andy realized that his Demonic powers were growing weaker and weaker and he needed to keep his training up in order to protect himself. They hadn’t run in to any more trouble, but Andy also never went outside alone-Matt Good was usually always by his side. Andy smiled as he rolled across the mat, picked up his sword and held it above his head just in time to hear it clash against the dagger in Ashley’s hands.

“Nice work man.” Ashley said as he straightened up and held out a hand for Andy to take. The other guys were back at the motel working on some material and Andy couldn’t wait to get back so that he could join in.

“Thanks-ready to hit the streets?” Andy asked as he moved over to where his bag was sitting and took out a bottle of water. His face was probably beet red and he felt like he wanted to die, but Andy knew that this was for his own good.

“Yeah. We should stop somewhere on the way back…” Ashley had that devious look on his face and Andy only grumbled as he took a sip of his water and began to pack up his things.

“Like where?” Andy asked. His back was to the bassist but he knew that Ash was smirking like the Cheshire Cat in that moment.

“There was this club that we passed coming over here…” His voice was low and seductive sounding. Andy only sighed as he moved from his bag and bent down to roll up the mat they had been using. Ashley was trying to get him to go to a strip club, but all Andy wanted in that moment was to get back to his room, shower and work on some stuff with Jake.

“I don’t know man…we have a show tonight and Jake said he had some stuff he wanted me to hear…” Andy said as he stood back up and ran a hand through his thick black hair. It was getting longer and longer, but Andy loved it-so much so that he could hardly leave it alone half the time.

“Come on-get some of that aggression out and watch gorgeous ladies take their clothes off-what could be better?!” Ashley laughed as he walked towards Andy and threw an arm around his slumped shoulders.

Andy could think of plenty of things that would be better than exploiting women and throwing money at them-like working on some new material with Jake back at the motel. Andy followed Ashley, the bassist still had an arm around his shoulders and Andy could only walk along slowly, his eyes scanning the sky. It wasn’t dark enough to see the stars, but Andy knew she was up there and Lily was probably shaking her head at him in that moment.

Lily had never approved of Ashley’s ways with women and drinking, but she had put up with it for the sake of the band. Sometimes Andy would go out to the van after a show and find Lily there, grumbling about Ash and his manwhore ways. Andy would only laugh as he climbed in the back with her, take her tiny hand in his and kiss every one of her fingers.

God he missed her fingers-he missed her. He was lonely and not just for affection. He had lost his confidant…the one person in the world who knew who he really was deep down inside. Lily had always been his rock-she calmed him down when some jerk threw things at them onstage and she was there for him when he needed her. She was patient and kind-not just with him, but with his fans as well.

She got it…she got him and without her Andy knew he was just a human looking shell walking around on Earth. He existed but it was only purely to help others. There was no love in his heart anymore…he couldn’t love anyone but her and it pained him to think that he would spend the rest of his days alone with no one to love or love him in return.

Andy looked up as Ashley had stopped walking and he cringed: The Wild Cat. Eh-he really wasn’t in the mood for this, but as Ashley dragged him forward and they entered the dimly lit club Andy knew he owed the bassist a hefty fee. Ash had been there after the battle-he had dragged Andy away from Lily’s body and he had hugged him as they wheeled her away.

He had also helped Andy start his training once again and as they sat down at a small round table and order two whiskey’s, Andy knew that Ashley’s fee was only going to get bigger and bigger. A scantily clad waitress dropped their drinks off and Andy noticed that she looked unhappy. In fact all of the girls in the club looked unhappy. Andy took a sip of his drink and focused his attention on the girl who had just walked out on stage.

She was slim, her body white and pure looking against the harsh lights and Andy couldn’t help but sit up in his chair more. She was facing away from him, swaying her hips back and forth to the music that was playing. Andy smirked as he recognized a Motley Crue song and he noticed that the girl was wearing a pair of black shorts and a long band t-shirt. She turned around then and Andy smirked as he saw his face up there on the stage-his head was right over her left breast and she was seductively lifting her shirt higher and higher, her stomach showing more and more.

Andy took another sip of his drink-thank God for fake IDs-and suddenly the girl on the stage was on the pole, swinging around and around but her light grey eyes never left his own. He felt captivated by her for some reason-her light blonde hair was whipping around her face, her eyes heavily lined in black and grey makeup. Andy smiled as she stopped spinning and soon was on the floor-her shirt had been removed to reveal a lacey black bra and soon enough she was hardly wearing anything.

He was eye to eye with her and Andy felt his heart stop as her almond shaped grey eyes seemed to morph into a pair of very light and very sad lavender ones. His jaw dropped as his eyes hazed over and soon enough Andy was watching Lily dance before him. She had her arms up behind her head, her hands grasping for the pole behind her as she smiled down at him. Her long blonde hair was covering her most private parts, but Andy still felt the blood leave his face as he watched her dance.

What was she doing here? Was this a dream? What the fuck was going on right now? Andy looked over towards where Ashley was sitting and the bassist seemed to be captivated by the girl as well. Andy growled lowly and he watched as Lily only looked down at him, her mouth moving but no sound was coming out. He felt confused and soon enough he felt like he was spinning and couldn’t focus his eyes.

“You okay man?” Ashley’s voice was in his ear and as Andy shook his head to try and focus, he noticed that the girl on the stage had disappeared. Where had she gone? Had it really been Lily? What was she trying to tell him?

“I-uh yeah. Di-did that girl look familiar to you?” Andy asked as he reached for his drink and drained it in one gulp. They needed to head out to get to soundcheck on time before Jon sent a search party out for them.

“No-she was fucking hot, but no. Why?” Ashley asked as he too drained his drink and moved to slip his leather jacket onto his slim frame. Andy only shook his head, his long black tresses falling in to his face as he stood and reached for his jacket.

“I could have sworn…” Andy said and Ash only laughed lowly, clapping the singer on the shoulder as the two of them moved towards the door. Andy looked over his shoulder one last time and noticed that the girl from the stage was standing in a back doorway. She had slipped a red robe on and her blonde hair was messy and sticking up in places.

Andy stood there and he felt like he couldn’t move as his eyes locked on to hers. They weren’t a grey color nor were they lavender like he had thought. Andy felt a chill run through his body as she smirked at him, tipping the glass in her hands towards him as Andy felt Ashley tug on his jacket. That smirk-those yellow cat eyes. Andy felt his heart speed up-he knew who this was…was it possible?

She had died-Lily had killed her he was sure of it. Andy swallowed as he began to walk, but his mind was filled with questions. How had she managed to get back up here? Had she been the one playing tricks with his head this entire time? Andy followed Ashley out onto the street, but his mind was only on one person as they walked down the road.

Lattie.

“You okay man?” Ashley asked as they were stopped at an intersection crosswalk. Andy looked at his best friend, biting down on his lip ring as he decided whether or not he should say anything to Ash about what he saw.

“Yeah-I…um just thought I saw someone.” Andy said as the sign for them to walk lit up and the two of them hastily made their way across the street. Ashley only smirked up at Andy as they walked and he watched the singer shakily take out a cigarette and light it.

“Another Lily sighting?” He teased and Andy only gulped as he took a drag off of his cigarette and looked down at the bass player. How was he supposed to answer him? Yes and then no? He had thought the girl was Lily-he saw her everywhere, but then that last smirk…it had to be Lattie.

“I-um. Ash…I think I saw Lattie.” Andy said it quickly, squinting his eyes shut as Ashley stopped walking and turned to look at his best friend. Andy was looking at him-barely-and Ash wasn’t sure whether to take the young singer seriously or if he should have the kid committed.

“What? No-no that’s impossible. She…she died Andy. You saw her body. You watched me bury her in that hole…” Ashley looked like he wanted to cry and suddenly Andy regretted saying anything. It could have been a trick of the light or something along those lines. But thinking back on it…he seemed so sure that it had been Lattie.

“I-I’m sorry man. Maybe…maybe I’m wrong. That’s it…I’m wrong. Come on let’s head in to soundcheck before the guys send out the SWAT team.” Andy laughed as he tossed his arm around Ash’s neck and the two of them entered the small club.

Andy breathed a sigh of relief as Ashley seemed to brighten at his words and Andy could only hope that if this was Lattie in disguise-that she stayed the Hell away from them all. He had only ever heard of a Demon being resurrected a handful of times and only Satan himself had the power to do so. If Lattie had been brought back-why was she on Earth? With all of the problems she had caused the last time, one would think that Satan would keep her under lock and key down in Hell.

Andy sighed-he was tired and he was getting a headache from all of the stress that was rattling around in his brain. What was he going to do? He couldn’t keep seeing these visions-they were driving him insane and sooner or later he was going to break. He ran a hand through his hair as Andy walked back towards their tiny dressing room and was met by a silent group. All of the guys were staring at him and Andy knew that Ash had spilled the beans about his sighting.

Question was-who were they going to believe?

Notes

Is Andy going crazy? Or is Satan playing mind games with him? Will the guys believe him?

FYI: As of next thursday I will NOT update until after the holidays. But that means I'll have lots of new material for you guys to enjoy...so look forward to that. Until then I will still be updating, but the last update will be on Thursday morning.

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
