We're Setting Worlds On Fire

They laid there for what seemed like forever and Lily couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Andy was laying beside her, his face peaceful as his eyes remained closed and he sighed happily to himself. They had made love-finally after all this time they had done what they both felt they needed to do and it had felt like the perfect thing. Being together like that-finally being one as a couple-had done something to the two of them.

They felt free in that time together-they felt like they could accomplish anything as long as they were together. Lily laid there, her head resting on Andy’s chest as she looked up at the ceiling and she only smiled as he began to hum softly, his fingers running through her hair. As he hummed, Lily sang softly-words that just came to her mind and seemed to fit the tune.


“I cannot hide what's on my mind-I feel it burning deep inside. A passion crime to take what's mine-Let us start living for today…” Lily stopped as Andy sucked in a breath. She didn’t know where this was coming from, but it just fit and so she kept singing while he kept humming softly.

“Never gonna' change my mind-We can leave it all behind. Nothin's gonna' stop us-No not this time…” Lily smiled as she sat up, her hands reached out for his and Andy only smirked as he moved to sit up, the humming never stopping.

“So take your hand in mine-It's ours tonight. This is a rebel love song.” Lily stopped as Andy leaned in, pressing his lips against her own and she smiled softly. She didn’t know where this was coming from, but it sounded like it worked.

“Come on…lets go to the back lounge.” Andy said as he grabbed for her hand and Lily only giggled as she wrapped his sheet around her body and followed after Andy.


The two of them were the only ones up and as they both entered the back lounge, Lily could see that the sun was coming up in the distance. They were on their last few shows of the American tour and then it would be over to Japan. The guys were beyond excited-they had never gone to that part of the world before and it really said something for how far they had come. Here was a band that couldn’t book anything in LA besides a parking lot and they were getting ready to play in Japan. Lily was proud of them and she knew they were proud of themselves.

Lily watched as Andy sat down, pulling a blanket across his lap along with Jake’s acoustic and Lily only smirked as she sat down beside him. Who knew after making love that they would have a jam session and write a new song? As Andy moved his fingers to get everything in tune, Lily dug around to try and find his green notebook. Finally after finding it between two cushions, Lily only sat there and looked at the small spiral book in her hands. This little book held everything-all of Andy’s thoughts, dreams and songs that had ever passed through his brain.


“Okay, from the top.” Andy said as he strummed a few chords and Lily only smiled as she opened the book and titled the page-Rebel Love Song.

“I cannot hide what's on my mind-I feel it burning deep inside. A passion crime to take what's mine-Let us start living for today…” Lily wrote as fast as she could as Andy kept strumming along and then began to sing the words himself.

“Never gonna' change my mind-We can leave it all behind. Nothin's gonna' stop us-No not this time…” He sang to her, smiling as Lily only nodded her head and kept writing. Her fingers were cramping, but it was going to be worth it in the end.

“So take your hand in mine-It's ours tonight. This is a rebel love song.” She sang, reaching out to rest one of her hands on top of his and Andy only smiled as he blew her a kiss. He bit down on his lower lip, trying to figure out the next part to the song.

“Hearts will sacrifice-It's do or die. This is a rebel love song!” Lily laughed as she shrugged, making it up as she went along. Andy only nodded his head-he knew what needed to come next.

“My outlaw eyes have seen their lies-I choke on all they had to say. When worlds collide what's left inside-I hold on tight and hear you pray…” Lily only smiled, tears in her eyes because she knew it was true. Their worlds had collided all that time ago and they both were so much better because of it.

“Never gonna' change my mind-We can leave it all behind. Nothin's gonna' stop us-No not this time…”Lily repeated and Andy only smiled-time for the chorus.

“So take your hand in mine-It's ours tonight. This is a rebel love song! Hearts will sacrifice-It's do or die. This is a rebel love song!” They both sang in perfect unison and the couple only smiled as Andy continued to play the guitar and Lily thought about what should come next.


They had been running from their problems all this time and Lily had grown tired of running alone. Andy had found her, he had pulled her out of the depths of her despair and she would always be thankful to him for that. He was everything to her and as she looked over at him, Lily couldn’t help but blush as thoughts of their previous actions traveled through her mind. Andy was sitting there, smiling with his bright blue eyes filled with sleep and Lily wanted to reach out and touch him. She was still running…but he was running with her and he always would.


“Wild and running for one reason-They can't stop us from our freedom. Wild and running for one reason-They can't stop us from our freedom.” Lily sang, her soft voice growing strong and confident as they looked at one another. They were free…for that night they were free and they were together.

“Never gonna' change my mind-We can leave it all behind. Nothin's gonna' stop us-No not this time…” Their voices were in perfect harmony as they sang-Andy still playing the guitar as Lily tried to get everything written down.

“So take your hand in mine-It's ours tonight. This is a rebel love song! Hearts will sacrifice-It's do or die. This is a rebel love song!” They were singing so loudly that Lily was sure that the others could hear them, but they didn’t care. Slowly they both came to realize that the song was coming to an end…and so was their last night together.

“So take your hand in mine-It's ours tonight. This is a rebel love song! Hearts will sacrifice-It's do or die.This is a rebel love song…” They both ended the song softly, letting their voice trail off as they looked at one another sadly.


This was their song-it always would be and as Andy cleared his throat and placed the guitar on the floor, he took Lily in to his arms and held her. She hadn’t even realized she was crying until she felt her tears hit her bare arms and then she knew-she couldn’t give Andy up. He had been everything to her for so long that Gabriel had to physically remove her ability to feel for Lily to get over Andy. As they sat there and held one another, Lily knew that Andy would be a great someone for somebody later in life. There was a girl out there and Lily knew who she was-that was going to be perfect for Andy and they just needed to find one another.

Andy held on to Lily, his eyes blurring with his tears as he kissed the top of her messy blonde hair and felt her shaking beneath him. This had been it for them-they both knew when they had begun to make love that they couldn’t do this again…they couldn’t be together ever again. Andy held her, his bare arms resting on hers and Lily kissed his skin gently, her tears leaving a trail across his flesh and it made Andy shiver. How could he go on without this girl? How could there be someone else out there for him more perfect than Lily?

They held one another as the sun rose and Andy knew that they needed to get back to their bunks and get some rest. He would sleep, but Andy knew that Lily wouldn’t sleep-she would never sleep again. They were almost done with the tour and Andy couldn’t wait to get over to Japan and meet new fans-he loved meeting fans. There, of course, was the blade hanging over their necks and Andy and Lily both knew that it was a matter of time before more attacks happened and then the war would start. Finally Lily seemed to have run out of tears and as she looked up at him, Andy stayed silent and just kissed her lips softly.


“What’s going on guys?” Both Andy and Lily looked up and noticed that people were looking in at them through the doorway.

“Yeah we heard shouting and then crying…” CC said and Lily only smiled as she caught site of Michael and noticed that the other Angel was smirking at her. Oh-yeah…they were still naked and wrapped in nothing but blankets.

“Why are you naked Lily?” Jinxx asked as he stepped forward and the Angel only blushed as she pulled the sheet up to cover her shoulders.

“What are you guys doing back here? Did you finally do it?” Ashley asked, that creepy smirk on his lips and Lily only blushed as she covered her nose with her hands and smiled softly.

“They did! Congrats guys! It fucking took you long enough!” CC shouted and everyone else laughed as Andy flicked them all off and then reached for Lily’s hand.

“Fucking finally! Pay up man!” Jake laughed as he turned to Jinxx and held out his hands. Jinxx only groaned as he walked off towards his bunk and came back with his wallet.

“You guys had a bet going?” Lily asked as she looked at them all, her lavender eyes full of fire and brimstone. The guys laughed nervously and both CC and Ashley moved away from the guitarists.

“I bet Jake that the two of you wouldn’t ever get together again and of course…thanks to your hormones…I owe him a hundred bucks.” Jinxx said, his tone filled with aggravation as he counted out twenties and placed them in Jake’s hand.

“Wooow. Alright, well good night, it’s been fun.” Andy said as he stood up, holding the blanket around his waist up and then he reached for Lily’s hand.

“We wrote a new song by the way…it’s in the notebook. Night!” Lily called out over her shoulder and all of the guys just watched as the couple walked on and then disappeared behind the curtain to Lily’s bunk.


Andy crawled in to Lily’s bunk, shocked that the Angel was actually offering him a place to sleep for the night. As they cuddled together and Andy held Lily to his chest, they felt a peace fall over the small space. Things had happened that could never happen again, but both of them were just happy to have had the last chance for things to occur. They had never really gotten to say goodbye when Lily had died and that was something that haunted both of them. Andy only smiled as he pulled Lily closer, kissing the top of her head as the Angel sighed softly.


“I love you.” She said against his skin and Andy only smiled as he kissed her head again and closed his eyes. It had been a long day and all Andy wanted to do was lay there with his love and sleep while she meditated.

“I love you too…sleep time I think.” Andy said, stifling a yawn and Lily only laughed as she moved so that she was looking at him.

“I’m sorry I can’t be your soulmate Andy…” Her voice was sad and the Demon only smiled softly as he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.

“It’s okay…I know it’s not your choice. I just hope the girl out there that is destined for me knows what she’s getting herself in to.” Andy laughed and Lily only smiled at him as she snuggled into his side and felt her eyelids growing heavy. What was going on? She never felt this tired…

“I’m sure she’ll be perfect for you…you just need to give her a chance.” Andy smiled as he closed his eyes and felt his entire body relax.

“Lily?”

“Yeah?”

“You’re still my number one girl…” Andy said, his voice growing sleepy and Lily didn’t say anything as she felt herself drift and then something happened that hadn’t happened in a very long time.


The Angel, snuggled in the Demon’s strong arms…fell asleep and it would be the one and only time that that would ever happen.
