We're Setting Worlds On Fire

Everybody Has A Somebody...Somewhere

The walls of the room she was in were covered in deep red paper, the crown molding painted pitch black and Lily knew it was all to add to the atmosphere. She sighed, resting back against the couch as she looked around and waited for things to get started. The guys, still in the UK but almost finished, were beginning to record their second album. They had so much material already that they had chosen to record in places while on the road, emailing tracks and snippets back home to the record company and their producer.

Lily didn’t have much interest in this type of thing anymore-she was more concerned with fighting off the things that were going bump in the night and lurking beneath their bus tires as they traveled. More and more they were being attacked-Death Walkers, Baricoots, Succubus’, and even another Hybrid. Lily had been able to fight them all off and Andy had even helped her with the Hybrid when it attacked them at a meet and greet, but Lily was growing desperate. They needed help-they needed more recruits and she needed someone else to talk to.

Every time she meditated, Lily went home to Heaven to speak with Michael and the last time it had turned into an argument. Lily had tried to convince Michael to come to Earth-to fall-but he was having none of it…not even a promise of hanging out with his favorite singer and huge man crush worked. Lily sighed again, brushing the hair out of her face as she looked towards the booth. Andy was in there, his hair pushed back out of his face by the headphone strap and he was wearing comfortable clothes-skinny jeans, a grey shirt and of course his boots. Where had the obsession with boots come from all of a sudden?

Lily smiled at him, giving him a tiny wave as Andy’s smirk grew and he blew her a kiss in return. Things had been weird for them over the past two weeks-Lily avoided any conversation of being together officially and Andy kept pushing her towards staying on Earth. They couldn’t do either-it was made crystal clear to Lily the last time she had gone home what would happen to Andy if the two of them returned to their love affair. He would be smited-killed-and sent down to Hell where his father could deal with him. Lily didn’t want that and while she wasn’t telling Andy the reason they couldn’t be together, she knew that it wouldn’t matter. He would die for her…she would do the same for him.

“Are you ready to get to it Andy?” The guy behind the mixing board asked, his accent thick and Lily only smiled. She had always loved the accents over here and she could listen to them talk all day-saying anything as long as it was in that accent.

“Yeah!” Andy called out and Lily knew that there was music playing in his ears as Andy’s head began to bob up and down to an unheard beat.

The guys had gotten a lot written for this record-9 songs and they were going for twelve. As Lily sat there, half listening to Andy sing take after take, she ticked the songs off on her fingers. The Legacy-which she had helped write through some divine channeling. Love Isn’t Always Fair-which still made her cringe to think about. Fallen Angels-a song that had grown on her, but it had pissed her off at first. God Bless You-this song always made her smirk because Lily knew it was Andy’s big fuck you to his Father.

Smoke and Mirrors-Another song about her that made her sad, but Lily understood where it was coming from. Savior-which was her favorite so far because it just connected with people on such a strong level. Youth and Whiskey-a song that Lily hadn’t heard much of because the guys had been quietly working on it, but Lily knew where the song title had come from. New Religion-another song that she hadn’t heard much of, but Lily had liked it so far. Die For You-a song that Andy had written rather quickly and it brought tears to Lily’s eyes every time she heard it.

All in all the guys had a strong record so far, but it was still missing something. As Lily sat there, her legs crossed and her eyes closed-she meditated the best that she could. More and more she had been missing out on her meditation time because more and more she had been spending time with Andy. She had completely forgotten-among many things-how much he made her laugh and smile. Andy loved to see her smile and Lily loved knowing that it was his mission in life to make her do that as often as possible. Lily looked up as she heard a creaking noise and finally it seemed like Andy was satisfied with his vocal tracking.

“Hey-you okay?” Andy asked as he walked over towards Lily. She was resting on one of the couches, her legs tucked under her and Andy knew she had been meditating. He wished she would meditate with him at night…in his bunk, but Andy wasn’t pushing it too much.

“Yeah, you all finished?” Lily asked as she stretched her arms over her head and smiled as Andy bent down and placed a soft kiss against her lips. Another thing she had missed-kissing this man was pure magic. The way their lips melted together and she always felt such a love and affection from him.

“With this song yeah. Wanna hear it?” Andy asked as he held out his hand for Lily to take. The Angel smiled as she pulled herself up, giggling when Andy wrapped a tattooed arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. He smelled like mint and cigarettes-a smell that Lily hadn’t even known she had missed.

“It’s still a little rough, so keep that in mind.” The guy behind the mixing board said to them as he fidgeted with some knobs and then the room was filled with music.

The guitars were loud and boisterous and Lily found herself nodding her head along to the beat. As soon as Andy began to sing, Lily felt her heart stop beating. He had come up from behind her, his arms wrapping around her tiny waist and as the song played, Andy got closer and closer to her ear and sang for her in his low, soft voice. Lily felt the shivers run up and down her arms as she listened to the words coming from Andy’s mouth.

Praying for what your heart brings
Thoughts of escape and bloodshot eyes
You're barely sleeping, no longer dreaming
Now what you do to feel alive

Rise up and celebrate your life
We're not alone in our ritual
Sing for what you feel inside
Becoming one with our ritual

Singing songs of the old days
Try to remember what's gone by
Stronger in new ways
Don't care what they say,
This is your life
It's time to rejoice

Rise up and celebrate your life
We're not alone in our ritual
Sing for what you feel inside
Becoming one with our ritual

Our destiny is what we learned
Together wanting something more
Their misery and demons burn
A feeling that's worth fighting for

This song-she knew who this song was for and as Lily listened to it, she couldn’t help but think of a conversation that she and CC had had a few weeks ago. Brianne and her ritual-that terrible ritual that Lily had also partaken in. As she stood there, Andy’s arms around her tightly while the song finally came to an end, Lily couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks. This song-it meant everything to her in that moment and Lily knew that if Brianne had still been alive…it would have given her strength. As she stood there, Lily thought back to her own ritual and she cringed as she remembered the feeling.

The solace and comfort she used to get from feeling that blade slice into her skin-there had never been anything like it before. It calmed her-soothed her nerves and Lily knew that it had been the wrong way to deal with things. But when you’re sixteen and everything is falling apart before your very eyes…what else are you supposed to do? No band in her life spoke to her as much as Black Veil Brides did and Lily knew that their lyrics would always speak out to those who were in need. Lily turned to Andy then, a soft smile on her perfect lips and she said nothing as she kissed him.

“I love you.” She said as she pulled away, her fingers grazing over his cheeks as she held his face in her hands and looked deeply into his eyes. Andy felt taken aback-Lily had not said those words to him, with such meaning and conviction, since she had been alive and to hear her say it now was comforting.

“I love you too.” He said, his low voice soft and filled with longing. He just wanted her, every part of her…every inch, but Andy knew that it wasn’t going to happen. Lily wasn’t going to give in to him…

“Well if you want to take a break for an hour or two, I’ve got some more mixing to do on the next song.” The mixer said and Andy only smiled as he grabbed for Lily’s hand and led her to the door.

“Where are we going?” Lily asked as she followed behind Andy, but he said nothing.

He was leading her down hallway after hallway, until finally they came to a door with the words ‘Roof Access’ written on it in bright orange paint. Lily sighed-of course Andy couldn’t follow the rules, even when it was while doing something important…like recording a record. Soon enough Andy had gotten the door open and the two of them were climbing a small flight of stairs until finally Lily felt the air hit her face.

It was beautiful up here-they could see everything that London had to offer and she sighed happily as Andy led her over to the edge of the building and sat down. Their legs dangled over the side of the roof-nothing below them but air and the street. Lily closed her eyes, raising her face towards the sky as she felt the sun shining down on her, warming her to the bone.

“Do you think we’re soul mates?” Andy asked out of nowhere and Lily cracked an eye open and looked towards him. The sun was glinting off of his black hair, that blonde patch shining the most and Lily only smiled as she placed a hand against his cheek and moved his bangs out of those gorgeous blue eyes.

It was time. She had to tell him…

“No Andy…no I don’t think we’re soul mates.” Lily said sadly, her hand still against his cheek as her thumb ran across his bottom lip. She loved this man-this Half Demon with a loving heart, but she knew deep down that she could never love him they way he wanted her to.

“Why not?” His voice was sad and Lily knew that he was on the verge of tears.

“Because we aren’t meant for one another.” She said, her voice strong and her resolve even stronger. He had to know this…he had to understand.

“But you were made to be with me…that makes us soul mates.” He said and as Lily looked him in the eyes, her heart broke when she saw a single tear run down his cheek.

“Andy I can’t be your soul mate because your soul mate is out there somewhere in the world…looking for you and wanting to find you as much as you do her.” Andy huffed at this-more Angel logic that was just confusing to him.

“I don’t want anyone else…I want you.” He was pouting now, his bottom lip sticking out as he looked at her. Lily said nothing as she leaned in, placing a small kiss to his bottom lip, his lip ring tickling her skin slightly.

“I know…but you can’t want me forever. After this war…I’m going back to Heaven Andy. I don’t belong here anymore…I never did.” She said sadly and Lily knew it was true. All of the pain she had suffered, all of the hate she had endured-it had been because she was different…Lily just never knew how different she really was.

“I’ll miss you…” Andy said and Lily only smiled as she stood up and began to walk towards the door to get back inside. Andy needed to get back to work and Lily needed to start coming up with a game plan.

“I know and I’ll miss you, but I will always watch over you and I will always…always…love you.” She said to him. Lily watched as Andy thought for a moment before standing and walking towards her. He bit down on his lip ring before speaking softly.

“Lily…will you please stay with me in my bunk tonight?” He asked and Lily sighed. He asked her this every day, no matter what, and she knew that he already knew the answer. She gave him the same answer every time, not because she wanted to…because she had to. Lily smiled as she grabbed for his hand and began to lead the Demon inside.

“Not tonight Andy…not tonight.”

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
