Together Burning Bright

Just Like You

Camellia Amy Biersack was born on June 29th 2019 at 9:45 pm and weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds 2 ounces. She was not the only baby born that year-Kit and Ashley had their very first child, a boy they named Pierce, who was born a few weeks later. Dess and Kit had never imagined that they would be pregnant together, but the best friends had found out shortly after one another that they were expecting. The Black Veil Brides family was growing rapidly- Jinxx and Melissa had their baby boy, Edmund, and CC and Christy were both thinking of trying again for another child.

Touring over the summer had been interesting-squeezing families on to two buses and yet things had still grown crowded. Now it was a year later and Dess only smiled as she looked out the kitchen window, the orange and red leaves swaying in the wind. Aria and Oliver, both grown older and more sure in who they were, played outside while Camellia-now one and walking, was sitting on the kitchen floor at her feet. It was autumn and the Biersacks were home from tour for the time being-thankfully. Dess felt sad though-this would be the last year for their little family to be together.

Arabella, now five, would be starting school in a year as a first grader and the thought scared Dess. Had it really been six years since she and Andy had gotten married and started their little family? It seemed like only yesterday that she was giving birth to the small child, smiling as Andy held their daughter for the first time and now she was going off to school. That meant a lot of things, but the saddest thing was the fact that Dess and their children wouldn’t be able to tour as much anymore. Nothing had been set and the guys had been planning on working on their sixth album the summer before, but nothing was a sure thing with this group.

Odessa pulled her sweater around her shoulders more, smiling as Aria pushed Oliver in that old tire swing, both children laughing as the leaves rained down on them. It reminded Dess of she and Moira when they were young-Arabella and Camellia were almost the same age difference that she and Moira had been and Dess hoped that the girls would have a special bond. Oliver, the odd man out, was such a gentle soul-much like his mother and the boy, sadly, didn’t have much of an interest in music. Aria loved playing the piano and she had gotten very good, but Oli was less than enthused by his learning the guitar.

“Almost time for dinner Cammy. Are you hungry?” Dess asked as she bent down and picked up her one year old. Looking at the small girl, looking in to those blue eyes that she got from her father, Dess felt her heart begin to ache. Camellia looked just like Moira-except for her blue eyes and one dimple, but other than that she looked exactly like her Aunt.

“Mommy!” Someone called out from the doorway and Dess only smiled as she turned from the sink, Cammy still in her arms as she faced her children. Oliver, clad in a pair of jeans and light blue sweater, was pouting, holding his arms up and begging to be held. Aria, who was wearing a pair of leggings and a long red dress, was walking in the door, smiling with leaves in her curly blonde hair.

“No Oli-you’re a big boy now.” Dess said as she smiled down at her son and moved to place Cammy in her high chair. It was almost dinner time and Andy, who was in the studio working long distance on something with Jake, would be coming inside any moment.

“Mommy when are we going with daddy again?” Aria asked as she took off her coat and hung it on the hook by the door before sitting down at the kitchen table. Dess only smiled as she looked at the calendar by the fridge. She had all of Andy’s tour dates scribbled down so that they could keep track.

They were off for the holidays, but would then be touring again after the New Year overseas. The spring was reserved for an Australian tour and then the guys would be off for the summer to work on their sixth record. Aria would start school that fall and sadly it seemed like Andy would be leaving to tour during that time. It wasn’t set in stone, so things may change, but Dess knew that sooner or later Andy would leave them and that thought scared her. They hadn’t been apart in years and it made Dess want to cry just thinking about it. But she sniffled loudly and moved towards the stove where she had chicken and dumplings simmering for their dinner.

“After Christmas. Have you thought about what you want to be for Halloween this year Aria?” Dess asked as she got a banana out of the bowl on the counter and began to peel it. She set the small pieces that she was breaking off in front of Cammy and the small girl cooed as she slipped some food in to her mouth.

“Yes! I’ll be right back!” The small girl tittered as she ran off and Dess only smiled as she heard clomping on the stairs. Aria was in her room, the Batman mural long gone and replaced by bright pink and lime green polka dots. Sadly the only person in the house who loved Batman as much as Dess and Andy was Oliver.

“What do you want to be this year for Halloween Oli?” Dess asked as she sat a bowl in front of her son and kissed the top of his red hair. Oliver was exactly like Dess-very quiet and very pensive and he also loved to draw, just like his mother. Andy loved his son, but he found it hard not being slightly disappointed that his son was not going to follow in his father’s footsteps.

“Batman!” The small boy called out and Dess only smiled as a loud stomping sounded out from the stairs. Soon enough Aria was back in the kitchen, an album in her hands and Dess only smiled as she looked at the front cover. Set The World On Fire-BVB’s second album and the one that had meant the most to her sister.

“What’s this?” Dess asked as she took the album from her daughter’s hands and then smiled.

Odessa looked down, running her fingers over Andy’s overly made up face and she couldn’t help but feel the tears come to her eyes. He had been so young then, so different and seeing him with all of the makeup and the theatrics, it made Dess think of Moira. As sad as it was, looking down at Andy like that also made Dess smile as it reminded her of that summer. She had never thought that going to a festival would end up in her going on the greatest adventure of her life, but it had. Dess looked up and saw that Aria was looking at her with the biggest smile. The question still hung in the air as Dess cleared her throat and smiled at her eldest child.

“So, what do you want to be for Halloween darling?” Dess asked again and Aria only smirked, that lopsided smirk that was pure Andy and she took the record from her mother’s hands. Her tiny fingers, with the red paint that she loved so much, pointing to her father’s face.

“Daddy.” She said, her tone serious and Dess felt slightly confused. As she looked at her daughter’s face and then looked down to Andy’s, Dess knew then and there what her daughter wanted. Dess couldn’t help but laugh as she bent down, pressed a kiss to Aria’s head and took the album from her hands.

“Oh Arabella, you are so much like your father…” Dess said as she placed a bowl in front of her eldest and then moved to look out the window. Andy was walking up the path, his light brown hair covered by a knit cap to try and keep away the chill.

“I know…” Aria said, her mouth full of food and Dess only smirked as she moved to the back door and waited for Andy to come stomping up the back steps.

Seeing him, seeing Andy walking towards her, Dess felt her heart grow just as light as it did when she was twenty-one years old. It was amazing to her that this man-this wonderful and caring man, could still make her heart pitter patter as much now as it did back then. He had chased her with a passion in his heart and as Dess helped Andy get his coat off and then his lips were on hers-she still felt his passion. He kissed her, his lip ring tickling her lips and before pulling away Dess wrapped her arms around his neck. They could hear their children giggling quietly in the background, but it didn’t matter.

Andy kissed his wife, listening to his kids giggling at them behind his back, but all he cared about was the woman in his arms. This wonderful woman, who had stuck by him in all of the chaos that hit their lives on a daily basis, was his and she always would be. She was still the same girl he had met all those summers ago-her blonde hair and green eyes were still bright and made his heart stop when he looked at her. Oliver, their son, was just like his mother and while Andy had hoped that his only son would take after him, he was happy to see that there would be another person in this world who was as kind and loving as Dess.

“How was the session? Did you and Jake get much done? Or were you too busy swapping child raising stories?” Dess asked, laughter in her voice and Andy only smiled as they walked over towards the kitchen table.

“We did work, but of course he asked after you and the kids. He wanted to know if Oliver was making progress with his guitar lessons and how Camellia was doing with her talking. Uncle Jake says hi Bells and he can’t wait to see you this Christmas.” Andy smiled at his oldest, who was sitting quietly to his left, eating her dinner.

“How are Ella and the kids?” Dess asked as she got Andy a bowl and was soon sitting down beside him. Andy only smirked as he took a bite and Dess couldn’t help but smile; Aria and Andy even ate food the same way.

“They’re good. Henry is starting to learn guitar and Margaret is as feisty as ever-completely like her mother.” Andy said and Dess only smiled. She loved hearing about the guys and their families and she missed all of them greatly. Kit and Ashley lived a few miles down the road and Dess saw her best friend often, but she missed her extended family.

“Speaking of someone being just like their parents-Aria, why don’t you tell your father what you want to be for Halloween.” Dess smiled as the girl put her fork down and looked right at her father. Andy got a chill-this little girl was so much like him that it sometimes freaked him out.

“What do you want to be for Halloween this year darling?” Andy asked and the girl only smiled as she got out of her chair and walked over to the counter. Coming back towards him, Andy noticed what album she had in her hands and he couldn’t help but smirk. That record had really cemented them in the rock world and while their sound had changed since then, he was still proud of that record.

“I wanna be you, but it has to be this you. Why don’t you have long hair anymore daddy? Why don’t you wear makeup like mommy anymore?” Aria asked and Andy only smiled as he first took the record from her tiny hands and set it on the table before picking her up and placing her in his lap.

“Well babe people change. Daddy liked looking like this when he was very young, but I wanted to change and so I did.” Andy explained and Dess just sat there and smiled. It was fun watching these two interact because they would scowl at one another and look identical or Andy would raise his eyebrow and smirk and Aria would mirror his movements.

“Well I want to be you when I grow up-accept I want to take care of animals and play the piano.” Aria smiled and Andy only returned that smile and kissed her cheek softly.

“You can be anything you want to be babe…anything at all.” Andy said as he hugged his daughter and pulled her bowl of food closer so that she could reach it.

The small family sat around that kitchen table, eating and laughing as they talked about their Halloween plans and just acted like the normal family that they were.

Notes

So the Biersack Family is complete with the welcoming of Camellia Amy Biersack. All of the guys now have children-even ASHLEY!
