Unbroken

I saw the light, not the light you see when you die, it was a funky lite ceiling light. Finally something other than darkness. There was a breathing to tape in place of my open mouth, supplying my lungs with air that was still difficult to give myself. The heart monitor machine beat over and over, which made me want to scream and kick it over it was so annoying but I could barely lift my fingers let alone my entire body.

an hour had passed before I was able to make my body set up. My hospital room is depressing. Of course the dead flowers around my bed and teddy bears are piled up on the visitor seats. It looked as if I died and they kept coming back bringing gifts in hopes I come back. There's even a fresh bunch of Lillys on the nightstand. They were just beginning to wilt, someone must've recently visited me.

The doctor had finally came in, he must've heard me shuffling in the bed. he greeted me with a smile, "Oh, hello sweetheart. You're finally awake, it's almost been three months." I almost choked on air given, out of shock, I couldn't believe I was out for that long.The doctor carefully remove the breathing tube from my throat. "Calm down. I'm going to get the nurses to come in and change IV bag and bring you a meal. A real meal, not the slush we give you while you're in a coma." He left and the nurses did exactly what was asked of them.

I have finally gotten comfortable in my bed, with a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup and a small sliver of chocolate cake.before I can even begin to eat, Xavier ran to my room with tears in his eyes. He wrapped his arms tightly around me and sobbed into the crook of my neck, "oh my God! You're alive! We thought you were dead! It's been almost 3 months, you had us so worried!"

I smiled and hugged back, "Xavier, calm down. Stop trying to kill me. I just woke up." He laughed then let go of me and apologized. "It's fine. I'm just glad to be back. Where is my dad or Ashley?"

"After a week of you being in your coma blood on the dance floor and black veil brides had to continue the tour, if they had canceled we could've been dropped from their label," He sighed but then let out a small smile, "but you literally woke up at the perfect time, the tour ends today but with these news, they canceled the last show and are on their way now. It'll be a few hours, they're all the way upstate."

I smiled and took a large spoonful of my soup, "That's good. Did you get shot in that bad of a place that I was out for that long?"

Xaiver frowned and nodded, "The bullet went straight through the bottom your lung, almost suffocating you with your own blood. You're lucky they got you here so quickly or you wouldn't have made it."

Before I could respond, xaiver's phone rang, it was my dad on FaceTime. I was handed the phone then I answered. He was sitting with Ashley laughing and crying and smiling.

"Sweetheart! Raven, you're alive! We're on our way right now. How long have you been awake?"

I shrugged, "Not even two hours."

he wiped his eyes and sighed, "i'm so sorry we left. We had to continue the tour, but we've made a killing so when I get back I'm going to spoil the hell out of you."

"Oh no you're not!" Ashley cut in, "I'm going to spoil her she's my girlfriend I call dibs!"

I laughed and shook my head, "You're both ridiculous. Just bring me subway. I'm hungry and is will see it won't be enough."

My dad smiled, "you got it, baby girl. Alright I'm a let you go see you can eat your soup and get rest. Get Xavier to buy you candy or something. You deserve some sweets because you're so sweet."

Xavier held up a bag stuffed with all of my favorite candies, "already ahead of you Mr. T."

I couldn't help but laugh, my dad laughed along with me, "Of course he is. He knows you well. Alright sweetie, will call you when we're close. It's another two hours to get into the city. Love you, Raven."

I smiled and waved, "Love you too dad. Bye ashley. Can't wait to see you all. Tell Jayy and the guys I said hi."

then we hung up. I must say it was a refreshing site to see my best friend, my dad and my boyfriend. Xavier handed me a bag of sour skittles, "You happy to see my stoner face?"

I opened the skittles and nodded, "nothing could better than your stoner face. Except maybe Austin Carlile's. Nah, you're face is still better."

Xaiver did a little hair whip and laughed, "Hell yeah. I'm better than Austin Carlile."

You guys have finally arrived at the hospital and when he said they were going to spoil me, they weren't lying. They flocked into my room with even more candy, Pizza, sodas, more teddy bears, and balloons."

And he smiled and chuckled at my reaction to everything they had brought me, "You thought that just Ashley and David were going to spoil you. Nope," he said popping the 'p', "Everyone was getting in on this."

CC held up the pizza box, "The pizza was my idea! They said subway but Pizza Hut is so much better!"

I smiled and was handed the pizza box. It felt warm on my lap and I could smell it right through the cardboard, "Well, thank you CC. You did good." I open the pizza and grab a slice up. I took a bite and try to answer everyone's questions while I chewed.

Ashley sat me on his lap, careful not to disturb my IV bag. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder, "God, I missed you so much," he whispered, "I was so scared I was going to lose you."

My dad sat next to me, held my hand, and sighed, "I'm so sorry this had to happen but hey now you have an super badass story to tell people. You lived through a bullet going through your lung. My daughter is a fighter." We shared a small laugh. "But really, I'm sorry we can't take you out of here yet."

I Shrugged my shoulders and smiled, "it's fine. The doctor said I just have to stay here for another few days, then he's going to give me a physical to see if all my shits in order then if everything is all well and good, I'm free to go."

CC curled up at my feet and purred like a cat, "I'm not moving. It's warm and comfy right here."

I stroked his hair and scratch behind his ear, "Good kitty."

Everyone that night fell asleep all around the room. They wouldn't let me be alone. Jake even slept in the bathroom because Andy and Jinxx Took over a large portion of the floor. Cc remained at my feet and Ashley stayed up my side. I couldn't help but smile and giggle at everyones sleeping positions. I chewed on gummy worms and sit on a coconut almost woke up everyone when I opened it. The TV was the main light source in the dark room.

I nearest my dad shuffling then he woke up. He immediately walked over to me to check on me. He leaned over to kiss my forehead, "Can't sleep, princess?"

I chuckled and shook my head. "Not really. I've been asleep for almost three months. I don't exactly want sleep now."

He took a gummy worm and popped it in his mouth. "Well alright. I get that. Hey, what size are you? Pants, shoes, and shirts?"

It Took me a minute to remember, "I'm a size 3 in pants, 8 in shoes, and I'm a medium. Why?"

My dad smiled, "I'm going to buy you a whole new outfit tomorrow. A whole new thing you can put on when you leave. It's gonna be awesome."

I smiled, "Thank you dad. My favorite stores are Hot Topic and American Eagle."

He chuckled and rolled his eyes, "You're so your mother. When we were dating she would only go there and it was hilarious. Alright girl. Go to sleep. Okay?" I nodded then hugged him goodnight. I fell asleep around an hour after he did. I felt calm for a change.
