Unbroken

Jayy and my dad loaded all of my belongs on the bus then left Xaiver and I outside by ourselves. We sat on the back bumper of the bus and shared a cigarette, we blew small rings from the smoke. We started joking about something stupid Jayy had said on the drive here.

In the midst of our laughter, we were interrupted by an engine revving by a familiar car that crashed straight through the bus lot's gate, sending chain link pieces flying through out the air. The car sped towards us and halted not ten feet away. A malevolent shape exited the vehicle. It was my "father". Xaiver attempted to push him back into the car but was whipped to the ground by a gun pulled from my "father's pocket." He then aimed it at me. He had a twisted smile slapped on his face with eyes screaming murder, "Oh Raven. Funny how you thought you could leave your mother and I so easily. But the only way you're leaving either of us is IN A BODY BAG!"

I didn't have a chance to call out for help before the bullet left the chamber with a large clap of thunder rushing for my body. I went numb, the impact of the bullet caused me to flop onto the ground. The boom left my ears ringing. Blood began to form around me and seep into the cracks of the concrete. My dad and Jayy fought over control of the fire arm from my attacker. It was flung from his hand and landed in my pool of blood, lightly splashing me in the face.

Xaiver cried over my body, trying to stop my bleeding. While my dad wailed on my attacker, punch after punch after punch, blood coated his knuckles. Police cars began to flood into the lot. They pulled my dad away from my shooter and pushed him towards me, others tried to stop my bleeding while one called in for an ambulance. My dad brushed the hair from my face and was sobbing. I used all the strength I could muster up to raise my blood soaked hand up to cup his cheek and an atempted to smile. Trying to comfort him. Then it went black.
