Unbroken

The doctor finally got my physical in, took him long enough. I had to stay an extra few days due to his procrastination. But I'd rather take the nurses constant bothersome nature over the guys and my dad continually asking if I was okay, not letting me pick up my own belongings, or do anything on my own. It's a nice gesture but I seriously have half a mind to jab everyone in their boy-loins who says "I got it." Or "I'll do it for you."

Ashley must've seen how agitated I was getting, so he took me behind the BVB bus for a talk when we took a stop to refill the gas for the buses. "Babe. I'm sorry. I know our constant helping and worrying is getting annoying but can you blame us? You were shot in the lung for Christ sake."

I sighed, "I understand. I do, don't get me wrong. But you guys won't even let me take a piss without you all knocking on the door every thirty seconds asking if I'm okay. Can you blame me for being pissy?"
He wrapped his arms around me and tightly embraced me, "We almost lost you the second we got you. How else are we supposed to react?"

I returned the embrace and rested my head on the center of his chest, listening to the beating of his heart. "I'm sorry. I understand. Thank you."

My dad came around with a bag of snacks and a few monsters for me, "Hey, I got these for you. Since you're spending the night on Ashley's bus. Andy has your MacBook so you can do your lessons and your suitcase." He pulled me into a hug and squeezed me tight, "Be safe, okay?"

I smiled and kissed his cheek, "I'll be safe, daddy. Thank you for watching after me these last few days. I didn't appreciate it."

"You're welcome, Raven. I'll see you in New York," he gave my forehead a small kiss then went to his bus.

Ashley grabbed my hand then lead me back into the bus and to his bunk, "This is where you and I are gonna sleep." I couldn't help but give a face, the bed in the bunk looked like its barely big enough for a single person "It's wider than it looks." He added with a small titter.

I gave his cheek a quick peck then went to Andy to grab my MacBook, "Andy, you any good at calculus?"

He let out a loud cackle, "Fuck no! I didn't even finish high school! Why the hell you doing calculus anyway?"

"I need it for my advanced diploma," I responded, "I'm a nerd, I know."

Ashely quickly scooped me up into a bridal style manner then slid me into the bunk, climbing in after me. "I was pretty good at calculus in high school." We worked on my lessons and home work for the next few hours. We decided to finish off the lessons for today and continue on tomorrow. "You did good. Better than me when I was doing this."

I giggled and snuggled up to his side, resting an arm on his chest, "Well I try. Thanks for the help." I rested my head in the crook of his neck and let out a content sigh.

Ashley played with small locks of my hair, "Where are you going after high school. College wise."
It actually took me a good minute to think about it, "I honestly have no idea. Maybe I'll get into music or something. Maybe go into cooking."

"I say that's pretty cool," he smiled, "Considering who your dad is and your boyfriend is we can both help you with the music thing easy."

I thanked him then cracked open one of the monsters dad had gotten me. Ashley and I took turns taking sips from it occasionally sharing a quick kiss. I've never had a boy that has made me feel this light and airy. Making me feel at peace. Banishing every ounce of anxiety from my person. Just his aura is so bright and pleasant, it relaxes me. I can't explain how someone could have this kind of effect on me. It's a little scary but I like it. He's giving me something new. I like it. I want more of this feeling.
